00:00She's always kind of like working at the desk with me, watching me as I crocheted.
00:04When we first brought Shea home, she was just as scared as she was in the shelter.
00:09Sudden movements, random noises, bangs from the kitchen, that would always kind of spook her.
00:17She would not really come out if we had guests over.
00:23She wouldn't even come out for our roommate. This was definitely a challenge for me because
00:27I just wanted her to love us and really gain trust in us.
00:34I would never have thought crochet would have connected us.
00:38I was commissioned to make this giant turtle and Shea started getting very curious.
00:46It was very like, whoa, okay, I guess she's a fan of crochet as well.
00:50I caught her several times just sleeping on top of this turtle because she thought I made it for her.
00:55She was kind of sad to see that giant turtle go.
01:01Hi, baby!
01:02I was eventually able to make her a giant avocado bed that she loved.
01:08Of course, Shea had to check her out. Oh my gosh!
01:12It's almost as if she knew that I was trying to make this second bed for her.
01:18Hi, Shea! What is that?
01:21That was one of my favorite bonding moments with her. She loves to be sunken into it.
01:28I see her more and more now.
01:31I call her my little crochet assistant.
01:34Hey, baby!
01:35Shea! Get out of there!
01:37She smells the yarn.
01:38Yes, she is.
01:39Shea!
01:40She's like a quality control agent.
01:43She's much better than the day we brought her home from the shelter.
01:47She'll come out and mingle with you.
01:57Shea truly enjoys comfy spaces, places where she feels safe.
02:06There is nothing better than creating something from scratch and then handing it over to your pet and
02:11seeing them love it.
02:14That's why I want to keep making things for Shea.
