In a major legal relief for the Congress, a Delhi court refused to take cognizance of the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) charge sheet against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case. Special Judge Vishal Gogne ruled that the probe, based on a private complaint, lacked a predicate FIR. Following the order, Congress MPs led by General Secretary K.C. Venugopal staged a protest at Parliament's Makar Dwar, waving 'Satyamev Jayate' placards. The opposition alleged a 'decade-long vendetta' by the Narendra Modi government. Protests also erupted in Karnataka's Belagavi, where a Congress leader stated, 'Today, justice has been prevailed.' The BJP, however, termed the relief temporary.
