Paul Mescal talks to the Hollywood Reporter about potentially being the youngest actor to win in the Best Actor category for his performance in 'Aftersun' at the Oscars 2023 red carpet.
Transcript
00:00If you win, you'll make Oscars history tonight as the youngest Best Actor winner.
00:05Do you feel the weight of that potential history-making win?
00:08Yeah, I mean, I feel the weight of that small, small possibility
00:13because the Oscars are like legacy-making and something that I've watched my entire life.
00:19For that to even be a possibility, I take great pride in, yeah.
00:23What does it feel like to be here tonight as a nominee?
00:25It feels hot. I feel flushed.
00:28That's the main sensation with many, many of the veins.
00:32It's just, like, fizzy. It's really fizzy.
00:36I mean, and the carpet's almost over, but the show is notoriously long also.
00:41How do you think you're going to get through it?
00:42Did you bring a snack? You're going to hit the bar?
00:45By timing out my drinks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:48I'll figure it out.
00:50It sounds like you have a plan.
00:51I don't, but I should.
00:53I'll concoct the plan in the next five minutes and work back from there, yeah.
00:56And once the show is over, how are you going to celebrate?
01:01One of the many, many parties that are thrown around this amazing city, yeah.
01:05I'll take it one by one until I get too tired, until I drop, and then I'll go back to bed.
