02:19And then how did you go from football to the comedy?

02:22Well, I started, of course, on social media back in 2012.

02:27And fast forward, I was playing college ball then.
02:31I did two years at Moorhead, and I finished playing at Georgia State.
02:34But, you know, growing up as a kid, man, you know, comedy had been a part of my life for a long time.
02:39You know, I used to watch people like Eddie Murphy growing up, you know.
02:42Never a professor to this day, my favorite movie.
02:45Used to watch Martin all the time.
02:47Was that kid, you know what I'm saying, in school that used to win most humorous,
02:51you know, be a part of talent shows, acting on movie scenes and stuff like that.
02:54Even when I played sports, I was the funny guy on the team.
02:57You know, comedy is just that thing that was a part of me.
03:00I didn't know I was going to be doing it until I actually start, like, really taking it seriously,

03:04Of course, I had a friend who introduced me to Vine, like,
03:06yo, bro, you need to start doing these videos, like, you funny, da-da-da.
03:09And I used to have people all the time telling me, like, yo, man, you funny if you don't make it to the league,
03:13bro, you need to do stand-up, you need to do this.
03:16You know, when I was a kid, I used to do prank calls on people.
03:18I used to do a lot of different things that I didn't know that I was going to be doing in real life right now.
03:23Because, like I said, man, sports was, like, that thing that I wanted to do.
03:26And I didn't see nothing else until I really tapped into it.
03:29And I really found my purpose in it.
03:31And I really saw what everybody saw in me already in the past.
03:35And I saw what my family was doing when they was putting me in front of that TV.
03:39I don't even think they know what they were doing.
03:40They probably was fans of those people, too.
03:42But not knowing that they was pouring that into me to be the person that, you know, God created me to be in this world right now.
03:47So, you know, it's been an amazing, growing journey.

03:54You know, where I'm at right now to where I was, bro, it's a totally different step.
03:58You know, especially stepping into, you know, the stand-up world.
04:01This is my 10th year stand-up right now, which is a beautiful thing.
04:06You know, my biggest goal, my main goal is TV and film.
04:09And I done produced a lot of different short films, web series, on my own for my production company that's on YouTube right now that a lot of people done seen.
04:15That's being transitioned to feature films now that a lot of production people in Hollywood want to be a part of.
04:22Man, I got my own sitcom that's in works right now with BET and Paramount.

04:27I heard about that, man.
04:29So, you know, we getting ready for that 2026.
04:32And I'm ready for the people to see that, man.
04:34But just that new thing, you know, for this world, man.
04:36I want to be that new thing that our generation need, you know what I'm saying?
04:40A lot of the legends done did their thing from the Mike Epps to the Kevin Hart to the Eddie Murphys to the Martin, the Jamie Foxx.

04:47And I want to be that new thing, you know, for our generation.
04:50You know, I want to create that show where, you know, it's like a Martin where you can watch it 10 years from now and still laugh at it like it's your first time.

05:37Like, I see you was with Eddie Murphy one time.
05:39I see you ran into, I think it was Martin Lawrence before.
05:42What was something that one of them or somebody, Mike Gapps, told you about comedy that you was like, all right, put that to work, huh?
05:48Oh, yeah, I did shows with Mike, a few shows with Mike.
05:53I did shows with Martin, man, but I think Mike probably gave me like the best.
05:56I remember the last show I did with him, he was just like, man, keep being yourself and don't change.
06:02Because, you know, the industry can change you.
06:04You know, as you go higher, people become something totally different than what they was when they started.

06:10And that kept me rooted.
06:12And, you know, if you keep God in it, bro, you're going to remain yourself.
06:15If you don't, you're going to lose yourself and the world is going to see it.
06:18And it's going to be like, oh, no, that ain't the person that I know.

06:24But I think that was one of the biggest things that stuck with me.
