00:00Here he comes, here he comes, then the trumpets, then the drums, here he comes, Humble on Cassidy, here he comes.
00:15When the Prescott gang started their reign of terror,
00:29they made every other criminal in the territory seem like a rank amateur.
00:34Frank Prescott struck lightning fast,
00:36leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.
00:39And the price on his head increased with every daring crime.
00:43My saddle partner, Red Connors, and I were called in
00:46to try to track down the elusive outlaw who was now wanted on a federal charge.
00:51We gathered all the information we could from townsfolk and businessmen
00:55who had fallen victim to Prescott's almost insane urge for money.
01:00We picked up his trail, but he always seemed just one jump ahead of us.
01:04Until, on a road just a few miles outside of Twin Rivers,
01:08we interrupted what turned out to be Frank Prescott's last armed robbery.
01:13All right, throw down the money.
02:10We saved the payroll the stage carried,
02:17but one man was dead, another wounded,
02:19and Frank Prescott was still on the loose.
02:30We got the stage driver to Twin Rivers
02:32and under the able care of Dr. Glenn Scott
02:34and Nurse Nancy Matthews,
02:36who in a few more hours were to become man and wife.
02:40Well, at least that hold-up got Red and I back in time for your wedding.
02:44We're glad you could make it, Moppy.
02:46In the meantime, we'd better get a new guard for that driver.
02:49Don't forget, the wedding starts at 3 o'clock.
02:51Don't you worry, Nancy. We'll be back for that.
02:53He's not going to miss that wedding cake.
03:10Yes, what is it?
03:20I'm a friend of Frank's, Doc.
03:21He wants to see you.
03:23The only place I want to see Frank is behind bars.
03:25This ain't no social call.
03:31Your brother's hurt bad and he needs a doctor.
03:34Where is he?
03:36I'll take you to him. Just get the bag.
03:38I'm getting married at 3 o'clock. Then I'll see Frank.
03:41Hold it, Doc.
03:43You're going now.
03:44What about my fiancée?
03:46You'll just have to leave her waiting at the church.
03:49I can't do that.
03:51This gun says you will.
03:52Now, shall we get the bag?
04:00Uh, just a minute, Doc.
04:03Is this standard equipment or did you have plans?
04:06Just have it.
04:07When I ride the roads at night.
04:09Look, my friends will get suspicious when I don't show up.
04:13Yeah.
04:14Yeah, they might.
04:15So that they don't get worried enough to follow you.
04:17So why don't you write out a note saying you're out on the case?
04:28And, uh, one more thing, Doc.
04:30What's that?
04:31Bring along a death certificate.
04:33Happy, I can't understand why my son's so late.
04:59Well, Charles, you know what a doctor's life is.
05:01But after all, this is his own wedding and no word.
05:05I know.
05:06Try not to worry about it, Nancy.
05:08Red and I will go and see if we can find out what's keeping him.
05:10We'll be back in a minute.
05:11We'll be back in a minute.
05:20I'll see you next time.
05:27Then called away on emergency case.
05:45See you later, Glenn.
05:49He certainly doesn't seem very concerned for a man that's supposed to be unmarried right now.
05:53I hope this emergency case doesn't keep him away too long.
05:56There's something wrong here, Red. We'd better get back and tell the others.
06:27Hi, Glenn.
06:29Frank.
06:31Get me some clean water and a towel.
06:34Sure glad you came.
06:35I wouldn't want nobody but my doctor brother patching me up.
06:38Could have picked a better time than need patching.
06:40I was supposed to get married this afternoon.
06:43Oh? Sorry I upset your plans.
06:45You've been doing that all your life.
06:47How's Pa?
06:50As well as could be expected.
06:52What with worrying about you for the past few years.
06:55What's he got to worry about? I changed my name, didn't I?
06:58Nobody knows I'm really Frank, Scott.
06:59You can't change the fact that you're his son.
07:04And a murderer.
07:05One will end up in Hangman's tree.
07:07Shut up.
07:08Nobody's putting a rope around my neck.
07:10They'll never take me alive.
07:12If you want that arm fixed, settle down.
07:13Better wear that in a sling.
07:31You were lucky this time, Frank.
07:33One of these days you'll catch a bullet where it counts.
07:36Then you'll really have use for the death certificate I brought along.
07:39I got use for it now, Glenn.
07:41What are you talking about?
07:44My death certificate.
07:46You're going to sign it.
07:47I'm what?
07:48You heard me right.
07:50As a $10,000 reward for my capture, dead or alive,
07:53I plan on collecting it.
07:55You're crazy. I won't sign it.
07:57Oh, yes you will.
07:59Oh, your wedding plans might be interrupted permanently.
08:02Why, something might even happen to your intended bride.
08:06I believe you mean that.
08:09You're rotten clear through, Frank.
08:12Just a doctor's diagnosis.
08:14Now, you listen here to me.
08:15You're going to stay here until tomorrow morning.
08:16Then you'll go into Twin Rivers and you'll say just what I tell you to.
08:19What makes you think I won't tip off the marshal?
08:21I don't think you will, Glenn.
08:23My boys will see to that.
08:25As a matter of fact,
08:27they're going to collect the reward for killing me.
08:29These two men picked up Prescott's trail after you and Red broke up the stage robbery.
08:56Wounded him in a gunfight.
08:58I worked all night to save Prescott's life, but it wasn't any use.
09:01Here's the death certificate.
09:08Where's the body?
09:09About six feet underneath the ground, out at a place called Lambert's Folly.
09:12Oh, Lambert's Folly.
09:15That's right.
09:16About 50 yards from the old ranch house there.
09:19Now, just a minute.
09:21You dug a grave and buried Frank Prescott at Lambert's Folly.
09:25Is that right?
09:26We can show you the exact spot.
09:28Well, I'm afraid I'll have to see it before I turn in a report.
09:32Uh, what about the reward?
09:33When do we get that?
09:35Oh, don't worry.
09:36You'll get what's coming to you.
09:37Oh, Glenn.
09:40Hello, Nancy.
09:41Dad.
09:43I'm sorry about yesterday.
09:45Oh, what happened?
09:46You had us worried, son.
09:47Well, everything's all right.
09:48I'll explain later.
09:50The doctor had a busy night of it.
09:52Frank Prescott was the emergency case he was called out on.
09:56Yeah, these two here claim they killed Prescott.
09:58Want the reward.
09:59Dad.
10:00Dad.
10:07Doctor, what do you suppose brought that on?
10:09I don't know.
10:10It was a shock of hearing...
10:11Nancy.
10:12I'll just get him over to my office.
10:14Let me help you.
10:21The minute they mentioned that Prescott was buried six feet under at Lambourne's Folly,
10:26I knew that the story about his death was a phony.
10:30But when Charles Scott collapsed on hearing of the alleged killing, I was puzzled and wanted
10:35to find out why a respected man like Dr. Scott was mixed up in an attempted fraud.
10:44Come on.
10:45I want to have a look at that Lambourne's Folly.
10:46Sure, sir.
10:47I'll stay here.
10:47Maybe I can give the doctor a hand.
10:49Yeah, maybe you can.
10:51Let's go.
10:51We rode out to Lambourne's Folly and were shown the grave where Frank Prescott was six feet
11:02under.
11:06There it is.
11:11Let's have a look at the inside of the ranch house.
11:13Sure.
11:14Sure.
11:14Sure.
11:14Sure.
11:14Sure.
11:14Are you looking for something in particular, Mosh?
11:44Oh, no, just routine. Place looks the same to me, Hoppy.
11:48Ah, a little more run down, but I guess that's natural.
11:51There's been nobody here to look at the place since Lambert left about eight years ago.
11:54Well, my partner and I figured that sleeping in here is better than sleeping out in the open.
11:58Yeah, I guess that's right.
12:00Well, come on, Red, let's go.
12:09When are you going to send in that report, Marshal?
12:11Me and my partner can use some money.
12:14Didn't anyone ever tell you not to count your chickens before they're hatched?
12:17What do you mean? We got Prescott, didn't we?
12:20Come on, Red.
12:21Well, Frank, it looks like they're falling for it.
12:25I'm not so sure.
12:26Cassidy's got something on his mind.
12:27I tried to gun him down from up there, but you were right in my line of fire.
12:28What makes you think he's wise?
12:29I don't know, I just don't like it.
12:30Here.
12:31Cassidy?
12:32Cassidy?
12:33That's right.
12:34And don't miss.
12:35What makes you think he's wise?
12:36What makes you think he's wise?
12:37I don't know, I just don't like it.
12:38Here.
12:39Cassidy?
12:40Cassidy?
12:41That's right.
12:42And don't miss.
12:43You're the boss.
12:44You're the boss.
12:45How are you?
12:46I'm not sure.
12:47How are you?
12:48I'm not sure.
12:49I'm not sure.
12:50I'm not sure.
12:51Cassidy's got something on his mind.
12:52I tried to gun him down from up there, but you were right in my line of fire.
12:53What makes you think he's wise?
12:54I don't know, I just don't like it.
12:58Here.
12:59Cassidy?
13:00That's right.
13:01And don't miss.
13:02You're the boss.
13:30Ista was a man of power in my music.
13:33I can'trophy.
13:35I don't like this one.
13:36Askew!
13:37I did a pig.
13:41There's...
13:43I needed some more juice now!
13:45Who's the man?
13:46I ain't gonna hungry.
13:47Who's the man?
13:49I didn't wanna eat.
13:55Yikes!
13:57Well, what do you make of that?
14:15Now, Hoppy, you know there ain't no reward on our heads.
14:18Why do you suppose that fellow's shooting at us?
14:19Well, maybe he's just trying to make that story about killing somebody come true.
14:23Why don't we just round them up?
14:25We know they're lying.
14:26Frank ain't no more buried there at Lambert's folly than I am.
14:29Oh, but so long as they think we don't know that, they'll stick around for the reward.
14:34Friend, the thing that bothers me is why the Scots are mixed up with Prescott.
14:40Scott.
14:42Prescott.
14:44I think I've got it.
14:45Come on.
14:55He just doesn't respond.
15:00Tried everything.
15:02He won't believe Frank's alive.
15:04Well, get your brother here and show him.
15:06Oh, I told you about Frank.
15:08Nancy's a mad dog.
15:09Who else would scheme to collect his own reward money?
15:12But it's his father, too, and he can't refuse to come.
15:15Surely he has some decency left.
15:17That's worth a try if it means Dad's life.
15:20Well, how's the old man?
15:32He's dying.
15:34We've got to get Frank.
15:35You don't take order so well, do you, Doc?
15:37Or maybe you forgot.
15:39Frank is dead.
15:40It ain't healthy for the little lady to know any different.
15:42Save your threats.
15:43Just get my brother here.
15:44You've got to.
15:45It's the only chance of saving his father's life.
15:47Oh, I don't know.
15:48Frank won't like this.
15:49You tell him if he doesn't come, I'll disclose everything.
15:51You won't disclose anything, Doc.
15:54If I write out, you go with me.
15:56He can't go now.
15:58Then I don't go either.
15:59I'll go with you.
16:01Nancy.
16:02It's the only way, Glenn.
16:03We have no other choice.
16:04You've got to stay here with your father.
16:06Say, that's a better idea.
16:08When Frank gives us $10,000, you get the girl back.
16:11Fair enough?
16:14Now, ain't that a pretty picture.
16:16Come on.
16:23Working on the theory that most every family keeps a photographic record,
16:27Red and I rode the Charles Scott's ranch,
16:29and it didn't take long to find what I was looking for.
16:32Ah, there it is.
16:35Glenn and brother Frank.
16:37How?
16:39Frank Prescott is the doctor's brother.
16:41There's no doubt about it.
16:43That explains why the doc's mixed up in this.
16:45Yeah, and it also explains why Charles Scott had an attack
16:48when he heard about Prescott's death.
16:51You suppose the doc's in for a cut of the $10,000?
16:53I hope not, Red.
16:55We're going to find out right now.
16:56Let's go.
17:26In the photograph, the doctor told us the truth about his part
17:29in the fantastic scheme hatched by his brother, Frank.
17:33He filled us in on all the details
17:35and told us that Nancy was being held hostage
17:37out at Lamborn's Folly.
17:40Well, come on.
17:41Let's go get her.
17:41Wait a minute.
17:43Frank said he'll never be taken alive.
17:46If he doesn't get here, Dad will die.
17:48We won't stop, Frank.
17:49But I want you to promise to stall him here
17:50until we get back from Lamborn's Folly.
17:52Well, that's kind of a tall order, Hoppy.
17:54He's his brother, you know.
17:55Well, Frank wouldn't write in to save father's life
17:57if it weren't for fear of losing that $10,000.
18:00You have my word, Hoppy.
18:01Thanks, Doc.
18:02You have my word, Hoppy.
18:07Take care.
18:13Bye-bye.
18:13The End
18:43The End
19:13Look, Miss, I've had a battle on the top from you that I...
19:34Let me go!
19:37Let me go!
19:39Get your hands up!
19:40You all right, Nancy?
19:42Come on, get up on your feet!
19:48Come on, get up on your feet!
19:55Come on, get up on your feet!
20:03Come on, get up on your feet!
20:11Come on, get up on your feet!
20:18Come on, get up on your feet!
20:19Did you have to bring that?
20:39It's the only thing I know for sure I can trust.
20:49Dad, Dad, Frank's here.
20:56Dad, listen.
20:59Frank's alive.
21:01You've got to hear me.
21:03Frank's alive.
21:05He's here.
21:08You've got to hear me.
21:11Frank's alive. He's here.
21:15Try to understand.
21:17No, you're wasting your breath.
21:19Dad, Dad.
21:21Frank's alive.
21:24He's here.
21:36He's coming out of it.
21:38See, Dad?
21:40It's Frank.
21:41Frank.
21:45He'll be all right now.
21:47Good.
21:48And I'm leaving.
21:50Wait.
21:51For what?
21:52Someone else to collect the $10,000 reward?
21:55Frank.
21:56Give yourself up.
21:58Stop all this robbing and killing.
22:03I didn't come here for fatherly advice.
22:06Wait a minute, Frank.
22:07You can't go now.
22:08Can I?
22:09Stand where you are.
22:30Turn around or walk out of here ahead of me.
22:32You're crazy, Frank.
22:35There'll be a dozen guns out there.
22:37Well, if they use them, you'll be the first one to drop.
22:41Move out, Cassidy.
22:42My boys have the girl.
22:44If I don't get back, she dies.
22:46It won't work, Frank.
22:48My deputy's on his way into town with your two gunmen right now.
22:51And the girl is with him.
22:53And the doctor's with me.
22:55We're going out of here together.
22:56Put away your guns.
23:01Or I'll kill them.
23:07All right, Frank.
23:09You win.
23:20Frank!
23:26Well, Glenn, that was a heart-breaking decision your father had to make.
23:51But I guess he figured it was either your life or Frank's.
23:54He's a pretty brave man, Hoppy.
23:55I know.
23:56He wants the reward money divided among the families who suffered from Frank's outlawry.
24:00He would think of that.
24:02What made you suspicious of Glenn's story?
24:05Well, Frank did make one little mistake in the spot he picked to be buried in, six feet under.
24:10You know, that Lamborn farm has only got a foot and a half of topsoil.
24:14Underneath that, there's nothing but solid rock.
24:16That's why they called it Lamborn's Folly.
24:20Well, we'll see you later.
24:22Bye.
24:22Bye.
24:22Bye.
24:25Hi, my little partners.
24:36I want to ask you a very serious question.
24:40Are you afraid of policemen?
24:42You're not, huh?
24:45Well, that's good.
24:46You shouldn't be.
24:49Always remember that those men have had a lot of training, have put in a lot of years to learn how to help protect you.
24:57And one more thing, don't ever call a policeman a cop.
25:02He doesn't like it and it doesn't sound good.
25:05Respect him as he does you.
25:08Call him a police officer and see how much nicer he'll be.
25:12I'll see you next week.
25:15In the meantime, don't forget to go to Sunday school.
25:18There he goes, on his way, down the moon, the trail to where cowboys ran.
25:29Hop along, Cassidy.
25:33Hop along, Cassidy.
25:36He'll return soon again.
25:39There's no use to say goodbye until then.
25:44Hop along, Cassidy.
25:47So long, hop along.
25:49Hop along.
25:50Hop along.
