00:05after a special meeting of Southeast Asian foreign ministers was postponed at Thailand's request.
00:11Malaysia's foreign ministry says the meeting, which could have brought together top diplomats from both sides,
00:17was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but has been pushed to December 22nd.
00:21The postponement came as Thailand and Cambodia continue exchanging artillery, rocket and drone fire at multiple points along their disputed border.
00:32However, no reason was given for the delay.
00:34The scale and geographic spread of the clashes from forested areas near Laos to coastal provinces is described as unprecedented in recent decades.
00:44Authorities say more than 500,000 people have been displaced, with at least 38 killed on both sides in eight days of clashes.
00:54U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an end to the violence after helping broker a truce in July,
01:01but has so far failed to stop the renewed hostilities.
01:06Bangkok insists that any diplomatic breakthrough must begin with a clear cease-fire proposal,
01:11while Nong-Pen maintains it is acting in self-defense, leaving the path to talks uncertain as fighting continues.
