00:00The Bureau of Internal Revenue, or BIR, launched a simultaneous nationwide destruction of illicit vape products in Quezon City.
00:09This alongside with various revenue regions in the country.
00:13Over 448,000 units of illegal vape products is set to be destroyed starting today until the next three days during the nationwide operation, which is live streamed for 24 hours.
00:26The BIR sees an estimated 1.34 billion pesos in unpaid excise taxes and penalties, and a total of 742,778 units of illegal vape products, reaching a total of 2.73 billion pesos tax liability.
00:45The BIR stressed that the government will not tolerate sale of vape products without proper taxes, tax stamps, adding that without these, vape products are dangerous and unsafe, given that proper regulation and inspection was not followed.
