00:00The Department of Agriculture, or DA, has started the implementation of the new Maximum
00:05Suggested Retail Price, or MSRP, for imported rice nationwide.
00:10According to the department, the MSRP will be reduced to 55 pesos per kilogram from the
00:15current 58 pesos per kilogram.
00:17This initiative aims to make rice more affordable for consumers.
00:21DA also stated that the agency plans to further reduce the MSRP in the coming weeks after
00:26the periodic review.
00:28Meanwhile, the Rice for All program of Kadiwan ng Pangulo is also available at some public
00:33markets and train stations for only 29 pesos to 38 pesos per kilo, depending on the class.
00:39On the other hand, the National Food Authority, or NFA, has released the NFA rice and reduced
00:44the price from 35 pesos to 33 pesos per kilo.
00:49By February 5 to 55, by February 15 to 52, and by March 1, the highest price for imported
00:59rice in the market should be only 49 pesos.
