Michelle Fairley explains why there was no Lady Stoneheart on Game of Thrones Season 4.
Transcript
00:00So fans of the Game of Thrones books were pretty bummed when Michelle Fairley didn't return as a zombified Catelyn Stark in the season 4 finale like she does in the books.
00:09Okay, bummed is pretty much an understatement because one fan compared it to Jesus not making an appearance in the New Testament.
00:17If the show had followed the books, Catelyn would have come back from the dead as Lady Stoneheart, where she could only speak by putting her hands to her throat.
00:25But alas, Fairley has yet to be seen since that deadly scene at the Red Wedding last season, and the actress is totally okay with that.
00:34Fairley recently addressed anyone still holding on to hope that Lady Stoneheart would make an appearance telling Entertainment Weekly,
00:41Yeah, the character's dead. She's dead. You respect the writer's decision. I knew the arc, and that was it.
00:46They can't stick to the books 100%. It's impossible.
00:49When asked if she would have wanted to return to the show to play the creepy dead version of Catelyn, Fairley was a little hesitant.
00:56Telling TV line, I don't know. I mean, I love that job. I adored it, and I made some great friends. I loved it. I don't know.
01:03Hmm, well, it isn't a no.
01:05I'm Elena Scantlin. Stay tuned to ENTV for all of your entertainment news.
