"She'll stay with me for the rest of my life," says the actress of wrapping up her tenure as Sansa  Stark on the HBO series.
Transcript
00:00For Sophie Turner, who began playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones at the tender age of 14,
00:04the HBO hit series may be over, but the lessons she learned from her iconic character
00:08will remain eternal. Now, if you're the lone Thrones fan who has yet to finish the epic
00:13fantasy series, first of all, you call yourself a fan? Second of all, cover your ears
00:17because there are a few spoilers ahead. In an interview with THR's Josh Wiggler,
00:20Turner spoke about her emotional last day of filming and why she's ready to say goodbye
00:24to Westeros forever. Of the show's ending, which saw Jon Snow kill Daenerys and Bran
00:29appointed to the Iron Throne, Turner confesses that she loved that the story began
00:32and concluded with the Starks. Says the actress,
00:35Speaking of shooting that final scene, which sees Sansa become Queen of the North,
00:54Turner reveals that she actually felt a lack of sentimentality at the time due to it being
00:58one of the first scenes that was filmed.
00:59I was thinking, we've still got 10 months more to shoot, she laughs. But it felt really
01:04empowering and it was a great way to start off the season knowing that Sansa was going to be
01:08Queen in the North and then owning that. It helped with shooting all the scenes with Dany
01:12where she's very much protecting her home. Winterfell felt more like it was mine than ever,
01:17so I became even more defensive in those scenes with Dany.
01:20And on the subject of those scenes with Daenerys, they marked the first time that Turner and
01:24Amelia Clarke actually worked together on the show despite having known one another for years,
01:28something Turner embraced with excitement.
01:30I had been desperate to work with Amelia for a while, she says. It was awesome, these two
01:35incredibly powerful women who have gone through so much in their lives and come out the other
01:39side stronger. Having them face off against each other was just amazing because these women are
01:44stubborn as hell and they won't back down. So it was always going to be very, very interesting to see how
01:49they interacted with one another. And when her last day on set finally did arrive,
01:54Turner explains that it was a mixed bag of emotions.
02:11That being said, Turner is adamant that, now it's over, she would not return to the character
02:15she inhabited for almost a decade. It's time for me to say goodbye, Turner explains.
02:19She's ended up in a place that I'm so happy with. It's been 10 years of watching this character
02:23grow and she's at her peak right now. I'm sure if she carried on and did a spin-off show, it would
02:28just be downhill from there. She'd have to go through some other terrible traumas or something
02:32and I don't want to do that.
02:34Regardless, Turner admits there are definitely elements of her feisty character that she will
02:38take with her moving forward.
