00:00We'll turn from that AFC game to another huge AFC game.
00:04That is the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.
00:08It has not been the season many people expected from the Chiefs.
00:11Obviously, people always want to buy into variants and things.
00:14Flipping from last year, winning all of these one-score games,
00:17and now this year, losing so many of these one-score games.
00:21The offense doesn't look the same.
00:22The defense still is looking fantastic under Steve Spagnuolo,
00:27their defensive coordinator, Joe.
00:28But the game that we saw from them last week,
00:31I thought they were in it the entire time,
00:34and their offense just never stepped up.
00:36The defense did the job for the Chiefs last week,
00:38and they just couldn't get it done on Sunday night against the Texans.
00:41This game, the Chiefs have to have it.
00:43And the Chargers are a team that have dealt with so much.
00:45The offensive line injuries, the Justin Herbert hand injury last week,
00:49where they barely moved the ball through the air.
00:51What are you thinking about this game?
00:52Because I find it extremely difficult to lay 5.5 with the Chiefs
00:56at any point this season.
00:58Yeah, it seems like a fishy line, right?
01:00You just want to take the 5.5 with L.A. in this spot.
01:04They knocked them off week number one.
01:06It's a tale of two teams, and what I mean by that is L.A.
01:09has the momentum knocking off Philadelphia.
01:12They've won five of the last six by an average margin of victory of 13.8 points per game.
01:17On the flip side, Kansas City has lost four of the last five.
01:21Their only win during that span was the three-point win in the fourth quarter against Indianapolis,
01:27where they sent the game into overtime.
01:29The biggest problem, Tom, and you can look at that game last week, Andy Reid rolling the dice,
01:34is again, there's no offensive consistency.
01:37The last five games, third-down conversions have been atrocious.
01:42They've converted 24 to 69 attempts.
01:45That's only 34% with potentially the best quarterback in the NFL, three-time Super Bowl winner, Pat Mahomes.
01:52Here's the deal.
01:53Andy Reid, your backs are against the wall.
01:55Take the governor off the offense.
01:58Take it off.
01:59You should be racing to 150.
02:02First team to 40 should win this game.
02:04But instead, they want to run the football.
02:06They want to sustain drives.
02:08And all of a sudden, Andy Reid and the Chiefs are looking at losses.
02:12They can't afford that in this game today.
02:15I reluctantly would lay the five-and-a-half with Kansas City.
02:18But my best bet in this game is over 41-and-a-half, guys.
02:23Okay.
02:24So expecting some points in this game.
02:26George, what are your thoughts?
02:27And, you know, obviously the odds for the Chiefs, if we have them here,
02:30the odds for the Chiefs to make the playoffs are nothing that we've ever seen.
02:34Really, in the past decade at this point.
02:36To make the playoffs at this point, they're plus 520.
02:39And to miss, they're sitting at minus 900.
02:42Expectations for this game and really for the Chiefs to end the season at a certain point.
02:48Well, if you look at it from the football angle, it's which offensive line holds up.
02:52All right.
02:52The Chiefs are missing three starters.
02:54I don't think the Chargers have any starters left.
02:55All right.
02:56So, I mean, Herbert and Mahomes are going to be running for their lives a little bit.
03:00I'm the first to tell you.
03:01I thought what Herbert did against the Eagles on Monday night was –
03:04I know he didn't have a great statistical game, but the play,
03:07Anthony's surgery on his hand, right?
03:09Right there.
03:10And he's pushing people off with that hand while running.
03:12He's calling his own number.
03:13He played fearless.
03:14Much respect.
03:15Much respect to Justin Herbert.
03:17I'm with you.
03:18I'm going to take the points.
03:19All right.
03:19I think it's going to be a close game.
03:20You look at the weather here for those who are wondering, it's going to be cold.
03:2316 degrees.
03:24So, they're going to feel it there in Kansas City.
03:25I don't think we're going to get a lot of points in this game.
03:27I don't.
03:28I think we're going to see a lot of runs here from both sides.
03:30I think Herbert will play better throwing the football.
03:33I do.
03:33It's a week later.
03:34Well, six days later.
03:35So, he'll play better.
03:36But I don't think he's 100% either here.
03:39That Monday night game almost solidified their playoff spots, right?
03:42They should be okay here.
03:43I think they know they can afford a loss.
03:44Kansas City has to win this game.
03:46I just don't know if they have the horses to do so.
