00:00Let's get to your night game here, Joe.
00:01It's the Los Angeles Chargers, a seven seed to New England Patriots.
00:05They, of course, check in as the number two seed in the AFC,
00:10a three and a half point number.
00:12Drake May, Justin Herbert, which quarterback do you feel better about in this game?
00:17Herbert, not even close.
00:19Oh.
00:19Not even close.
00:20Oh.
00:21Yeah.
00:22I really like the Chargers in this matchup.
00:25Again, he hasn't stepped up in two playoff performances.
00:30This is, I believe, the perfect opponent to do that.
00:33And people might say, why?
00:34They're on the road against a dominant home team in New England,
00:37you know, in a team that has basically an identity now.
00:41I don't believe that.
00:42I think they've beaten up on some inferior competition.
00:46And I understand the Chargers haven't stepped up.
00:48I get that.
00:49But when we look at matchups and we look at styles making fights,
00:55I personally believe this is a bad matchup for New England.
00:58I think they're up against it.
01:02I give the edge not only on the players,
01:06but to the coach Harbaugh over Vrabel in this spot.
01:10I think Harbaugh learned from last year where he tried to sort of grind out that win against Houston
01:19and he got exposed.
01:20I think now with the quarterback advantage, and people can argue, Drake may MVP,
01:26but it's his first playoff game.
01:29He's at home.
01:30I still don't love the weapons for New England.
01:33I give the edge to Harbaugh, and I think he breaks out tonight through the year.
01:36So, this is a fascinating matchup.
01:40It is.
01:41And one thing for me is, you know when you see a game early, you feel so, so confident.
01:54What you're not looking for is anybody to agree with you.
01:57You just need to see some people see it differently to make sure, hey, listen,
02:00I have my belief and that's okay, but I'm not missing something, right?
02:03If that makes any sense.
02:05So, I'm not even doing this in the joking way that, you know, pushing and prodding.
02:10For me, I am happy to hear someone like you who I respect on the Chargers
02:16because I think the Patriots blast this team.
02:19I actually am surprised this is only three and a half.
02:22I do not think the Chargers are on the caliber of the New England Patriots.
02:28I know we have talked at length about New England's easy schedule,
02:31and it absolutely has been just that.
02:34New England does have big wins, though, right?
02:36They did win in Buffalo.
02:38They nearly massacred the Buffalo Bills at home.
02:41They blew the game.
02:42I thought that game should have cost Vrabel Coach of the Year.
02:44It seemingly will not.
02:46But they are not out of Buffalo's range.
02:50I think they're better than the Buffalo Bills, right?
02:52Even at Baltimore was going to be a tough spot.
02:54That was Drake May's first career 300-yard passing game on the road.
02:57They weren't able to get the job done.
02:59This is a Chargers team, to me, I don't think has been full of impressive performances.
03:07I think this is a team who is well coached.
03:11I think they do have a very gutty quarterback who is willing to lay it all on the line.
03:16I think they have a defense that tries to bend but not break.
03:20But ultimately, I think they are up against it, against a team better than them.
03:24And three and a half at home, to me, is not that expensive of a price.
03:29Now, I will tell people this.
03:31The Patriots are actually my favorite side today.
03:34But I did not want to come here on the show and give out three and a half because,
03:38and I know you hate when I do this, I will wait all day to see if this goes to a flat three.
03:42Just to see.
03:43Because it's smarter to wait just in case.
03:45But I think this is a double-digit New England Patriots victory.
03:50I think the Chargers' offensive ceiling has been capped for most of this year.
03:54I don't think that Justin Herbert is, A, fully healthy, and, B, going to all of a sudden correct all of his postseason demons,
04:02of which are very, very real.
04:04And I think this is a confident and prepared New England Patriots group entering into a postseason
04:10with a coach in Mike Frable who's been there before,
04:12a offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels who's been around the block,
04:16it feels like, a hundred times in situations like this.
04:20I think the Pats are the better football team, and I think they handle business against the Chargers.
04:24You make all great points.
04:25And, again, it wouldn't shock me because of how they have played
04:31and they challenged for a number one seed.
04:34I just, when I break the game down and I say, okay,
04:38we've seen teams go into road environments, L.A. and Green Bay, and struggle, right?
04:45They had one good half, and then they didn't put together a complete four-quarter performance.
04:52I believe L.A. just matches up well.
04:56I think their receivers can stress the secondary of New England.
05:01I think Herbert, not just with his arm, but with his legs, can make some plays
05:05and put some pressure on that perimeter of that defense.
05:09I'm still not wowed, and I understand that.
05:12Obviously, Diggs, you got Hunter Henry, Booty, who I love, but still not elite talent.
05:19You know, I just believe that it's going to be an uphill battle for New England
05:24to just walk through this team.
