Bengaluru’s ‘Illicit Affairs Capital’ Tag Fuels Fresh Scandal: Housewife Elopes With Police Constable

A recent report claiming Bengaluru tops the country in illicit affairs has sparked debate, and a fresh case from Karnataka has added fuel to the controversy.

In a shocking incident, a housewife from Mysuru allegedly eloped with a police constable from North Karnataka, leaving behind her 12-year-old son. The woman, identified as Monica, reportedly ran away with Hoysala driver Raghavendra, attached to the HSR police station in Bengaluru.

According to sources, Monica had been married twice earlier. She separated from her first husband and later married her second, with whom she was living until recently. In June, Monica and Raghavendra reportedly came into contact through Instagram. The online interaction soon progressed to daily phone conversations, which allegedly developed into a romantic relationship.

Three months later, Monica lodged a complaint against her second husband at a police station, stating she wanted to improve her life and asked the police to call her husband for counselling. Acting on the complaint, Chandra Layout police summoned her husband to the station.

While her husband was on his way to the police station, Monica allegedly fled her home with 160 grams of gold ornaments and ₹1.80 lakh in cash. When questioned at the police station, her husband attempted to contact Monica, but she did not answer his calls. Suspecting foul play, he later filed a missing complaint at Chandra Layout police station.

During the investigation, it emerged that Monica had eloped with police constable Raghavendra. Following this revelation, senior police officials placed Raghavendra under suspension. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
