00:00For all three riders, the board goes sideways, SX-1, race number two, gate down!
00:11Anderson goes wide, Cevacci up the inside, and it looks like Jorge Zaragoza out front on the Stark Future.
00:20Anderson is second, if he makes quick work of Zaragoza, he can clear track runaway.
00:24But he has Joey Cevacci right behind him, and Christian Craig has got a much better on the Stark Cup.
00:31He's lost one, two, maybe three spots now.
00:35And Anderson is out front and hammering those whoops.
00:39Zaragoza, Freese, looks like Simonson, Clout.
00:43I can't see Joey yet.
00:45Oh, Craig down again in the corner that claimed half the 250 division.
00:51And his work is cut out for him again.
00:55While Anderson leads, he took care of business in that first corner.
00:59Quick work of Zaragoza.
01:01Let's watch Christian Craig. You see Cevacci to his left.
01:05Craig checks up, right into the ball. Bottom of the berm got him.
01:09Yep, ball on his own.
01:11And gets drilled for good measure at the end of time.
01:13Ah, Christian Craig has had a rough night in Cape Town, South Africa on Championship night.
01:20While Jason Anderson has the best case scenario you could ever have.
01:25You've got Zaragoza second, Vince Freese, who is maybe the best, I'd say the word best lightly,
01:31defensive rider in the sport of Supercross.
01:34I mean, Cevacci is going to have to go through all these guys just to get clear track.
01:38Oh, and if there is one guy that I do not want to have to pass in a championship battle in his Vince Freese,
01:46he has not been up there as much this season as I thought that he would be.
01:53He is going to fly tooth and nail to keep that position.
01:56Now we talked to Yurim Khonski, mathematically, with the way the format works,
02:00if you're Cevacci, you just got to get to second.
02:04You would be two down with a chance to win the main event and wrap up the title in the final race of the season,
02:10which means pass Simonson here, get Luke Cloud, get the Starks, and we're okay.
02:16He's going to have to be very aggressive and very patient right in this moment.
02:20He has five laps to keep his championship alive.
02:23He gives himself a chance to just control his destiny, win that last race, and then win the world championship.
02:30But he has five laps to get into second place with a lot of great runs.
02:36Yeah, and his toughest pass might come first.
02:39Right now.
02:40Yeah, Luke Cloud was a tenth off of the lead pack.
02:44As we see the Rick Ware Racing boys battling, that's Simonson and Miller.
02:48But for Cevacci, this clock is going to tick down very, very fast.
02:53He's got to make this pass first, then get by Vince Freese.
02:57I mean, he's been put in the worst situation imaginable in race two.
03:02You travel over six weeks, five continents, you race in all these different kind of conditions, and it comes down to five laps of absolute scent to keep your championship hopes alive.
03:15That's not a position I would like to be in, but Joey Cevacci is about to go up the inside of Luke Cloud.
03:21That's one more ticked off. Vince Freese is next.
03:24That's one. Four big laps coming, the biggest of your season.
03:28Two more passes, and you will control your own destiny in the final race of the season.
03:34But this here might be the toughest pass of his life.
03:39Vince Freese is not going to move, and if you get him, he will get you back if you leave him an inch.
03:45And he just hasn't been up there this season.
03:48This is not going to be a position that he wants to let go of.
03:52And these Starks out of the gate in this second race have been phenomenal.
03:57A great run by Zaragoza and Freese sitting 2-3 for Stark Future.
04:03As you see Joey with an uptick in aggression, he knows the laps are coming down.
04:09He's going to have to make this move, make it quick, and it might be here.
04:12Does he do it aggressively?
04:14Oh, it's muddy in that corner, so smart of him to check up.
04:18Yeah, he just didn't get enough of a run in that rhythm section.
04:23Let's go down to Chris and beat with more.
04:27Sebastian Tortelli told me earlier in the day for the first time since the season started,
04:32they had a test week before Stockholm.
04:34The team traveled back to HK in Barcelona, and they spent the week dialing in the power curve.
04:38That's why we're seeing both Vince Freese and Jorge Zaragoza look so much more comfortable on the bike.
04:43And I'll tell you what, if I'm Joey Sabaci right now, I'm feeling really good about that pass.
04:47Big mistake.
04:49But I think Vince could have gone in there and done some damage if he wanted to, but he laid back.
04:54And now Joey has one more pass to make with just a couple laps to do it.
04:59And this thing will go to race three to the main event.
05:02Vince was about as respectful as you could be to a guy that is in the heat of a championship battle.
05:08He's had problems after that triple all night tonight.
05:11Really looks like he has to open up that turn to get into that next rhythm section.
05:16Interesting that that's been the one place that he's had, has had problems with all night.
05:21Roll, triple, big double for Joey Sabaci.
05:25He's got the speed, no question.
05:27The last three weeks he's been fastest in Super Pole.
05:29So with the clear track, he gets right to the back of Zaragoza.
05:34Two laps remaining.
05:36And I'll tell you what, Jason, if he gets there after this ride, that momentum, that might be the lift he needs to wake him up before the main event.
05:45Because look, Anderson has had his number when the gate has dropped.
05:49Sometimes it just takes a little fire and he's going to have one here if he can get by the star future.
05:57So right now, if it finishes like this, it would be three points in it.
06:00They could tie, I believe Jason Anderson would win on a count back.
06:04This position is crucial for this world championship title fight.
06:09You mentioned having your destiny in your own hands.
06:12Right now, he does not have it.
06:15This pass, and he would.
06:17He could win race three, the main event.
06:21He could win the championship.
06:22This might be the pass of the season.
06:24How does he play it?
06:25He has got one lap to keep this championship alive.
06:29And Zaragoza is just riding out of his skin tonight.
06:34Joey pulls a tear off.
06:36Looking for a way around.
06:37Now, Joey's been faster than the Wolves.
06:39But Zaragoza has been taking the inside line.
06:41As did Joey.
06:43And he makes the pass.
06:45A few corners from now.
06:47Joey Sebasti will have destiny in his hands.
06:49He can win the championship.
06:51And Jason Anderson is right there.
06:53I'm telling you, Jason.
06:54If I'm Joey, I'm feeling really good about this race.
06:58The fire is lit.
07:00And we're going to be in for an amazing race three.
07:03If Joey Sebasti can keep it together with a couple corners to go.
07:06Ben, he is riding like a guy that wants this world championship.
07:11He is now in a position to win this thing.
07:14Jason Anderson takes a look over as he just goes to the finish line.
07:18Jason Anderson wins sprint race number two of the SX1 division.
07:22But the story is Joey Sebasti.
07:24Who made the passes that he needed to keep his championship alive.
07:28Main event, race three, 12 laps to decide the World Supercross Championship.
07:35After one of the most important and crucial rides of Joey Sebasti's career,
07:40he does exactly what he needs to do.
07:42That is literally the biggest five laps of Joey Sebasti's career.
07:46He needed to come in clutch.
07:48He came in clutch at that moment.
07:50We got Christian Craig on screen.
