00:00I'll wear my jackets for special occasions.
00:02Nice and suede.
00:03I had to break it out, yeah.
00:05Yes, I love it.
00:06And the belt buckle.
00:07Yeah, yeah.
00:08That's awesome.
00:09It's real.
00:09I mean, yeah.
00:10I don't know how close.
00:11Where's the proximity?
00:12It's real.
00:13No, it's not.
00:14How do we use microphones?
00:16Yeah, dude, I just got done singing with Tracy Lawrence.
00:19I have not settled down yet.
00:21I shouldn't even be in this little room right now.
00:23I'm like a damn bull in a china cabinet.
00:26I love it.
00:27But it's all good.
00:27That's how I feel after interviews.
00:28So I completely know how you feel.
00:30Well, good, yeah.
00:30It's like that adrenaline rush.
00:32Yeah, yeah, it's amazing.
00:33I mean, can you describe it?
00:34Just describe it.
00:35Keep going.
00:35It was great.
00:36Honestly, I don't know what else to say.
00:38But like I said, if only you could kind of slow down time and soak it in just a little
00:43bit more.
00:43But no, it was cool.
00:45I should have picked his longest song.
00:46That way I stayed on there.
00:48That one, that one.
00:49I mean, it's still three and a half, I guess.
00:51But no, it was a lot of fun.
00:52And dude, like I was saying, Tracy is just, you know, salt of the earth.
00:55He's a great guy.
00:56And I'm just listening to that guy pretty much my whole life, you know.
01:00So it was really cool.
01:01It feels like you're part of something cool when you get to do something like that.
01:05So it was awesome.
01:07Do you feel like there's still elements of that kind of country in modern country?
01:12Yeah, I mean, there's always going to be room for anything.
01:16I mean, any kind of country.
01:18We've had it all, I think, at this point.
01:20And, you know, somebody's going to come along and take it somewhere else, you know what I
01:23mean?
01:24But there's nothing wrong with just staying here and playing country music, too, you know.
01:28And there's a lot of people that are doing that.
01:30And, you know, John Party and Cody Johnson, people like that, they are kind of painted in
01:34the way for younger acts like myself, you know.
01:37And so that's what it's always taken if you look back in the 80s or the 70s with that
01:42Rhinestone Cowboy thing going on.
01:44And then we had the Urban Cowboy.
01:46And then you have guys like Randy Travis and George Strait that come along that kind of
01:50change the sound.
01:51And, you know, we're kind of going through the same thing right now.
01:53So it's really cool.
01:54It's cool.
01:55Well, what can we expect from you in 2019?
01:58Good.
01:59New music.
02:00Yeah, we put out some new music in January.
02:02So hopefully we're putting out some more, a lot more soon.
02:04Soon, I've got a bunch of songs and we've been playing them out a long time.
02:08Really excited to get them out finally.
02:09And we're getting on the road with Old Dominion this week.
02:13So it's going to be really fun.
02:14That's going to be, I'm used to playing, you know, honky tonks and dance halls and stuff
02:18like that.
02:19So this will be our first trial in arenas, you know.
02:23So it'll be a lot of fun.
02:24It'll be a lot of fun.
02:25And it's going to be fun to open the shows and learn from those guys.
02:28And then we've got stagecoach after that.
02:30And so it's going to be a lot of fun.
02:32Huge.
02:32I want to ask because I made my first trip to Nashville, which is crazy, in December.
02:39I know.
02:40So bad.
02:40How was it?
02:41Do you remember?
02:41It was great.
02:42It was great.
02:43I actually got, I was a little, I had a cold.
02:45But the honky tonks, but the whiskey helped.
02:48The honky tonks, I have not met an artist yet that used to play in the honky tonks.
02:53And I'm so interested.
02:54Or maybe I did, but they don't talk about it.
02:57Do you have any crazy stories?
02:58Like, what's the craziest story that you witnessed at the honky tonks?
03:01I feel like, well, Nashville, I've, now, if you don't talk crazy, we can turn the camera
03:05off and talk about tech.
03:06We can talk about Texas clubs for a little while.
03:08That's where I'm saying the crazy stuff.
03:10I'll tell you what, the last, no, it's been a couple times ago, but two Decembers ago,
03:15we had a show in Texas where there was three fights in the crowd.
03:18I was on stage.
03:19I didn't even see them.
03:20That's how, I mean, it was that fast and quick and then fight in the back and somebody
03:25actually got hit by a car.
03:27So that was like, hey, but, and then their best friends the next morning by 11 a.m.
03:31So it's all good.
03:32But in Nashville, everybody's there to have a great time, but they, I don't know, besides
03:39for like falling down drunk, they don't act like, you know, they don't act just belligerent,
03:43I guess.
03:44It's pretty, pretty tame.
03:45It's nothing like Vegas.
03:46I'll tell you that when I say, I feel like this, this place is a no holds barred really
03:50as far as when it comes to that.
03:52Yeah.
03:52But Nashville's, yeah, Nashville's fun.
03:54I mean, it's, it's a good place to go.
03:55Well, one more question I want to ask you, you're at the ACMs.
04:00Just like reflect on that for a second.
04:02You're at the ACMs.
04:03How cool is that?
04:04It's, it's been more than I could ever drew it up to be.
04:08You know, I was saying earlier that more I come to Vegas, the busier I get.
04:12So I'm going to have to keep coming back, but it's a, no, this has been great.
04:16Um, and just being able to go to the wards, you know, I grew up watching it and everything.
04:20And, you know, every, there's people dreaming about standing here talking to you, you know
04:25what I'm saying?
04:25So it's really cool that, uh, you know, I get to be in the boots for a little while.
04:29I love it.
04:30Thank you so much.
04:30Thank you so much.
04:31Congratulations.
04:33This has been amazing.
04:34Yeah.
