01:24The Barber of Bakery Town.
01:29I have to get this job.
01:34I've been working toward this company forever.
01:37It's all I ever wanted.
01:39So this interview's my last chance.
01:42I'll probably be late for this interview.
01:46You go faster!
01:47Yes.
01:49No way.
01:50All my years of hardware to waste.
01:53It's just not fair!
01:55No way can I show up to the interview looking like I do?
01:59It's over now!
02:01You've worked too hard to give up.
02:10Who are you?
02:11That hair won't do.
02:13You should start from scratch.
02:15But you don't have tools, so what am I supposed to do?
02:18How is this going to help?
02:27Oh, the sweet cream.
02:32I feel as light as air.
02:34I'm like a whole new cake.
02:36I feel like I'm hopping on clouds of marshmallow cream.
02:39Wow!
02:41I've never felt this cute in my life!
02:47This suit will get you a corner office.
02:53It's time to break that glass ceiling.
02:55Just one more thing.
03:01It's awesome!
03:02She looks like a regular corporate gal!
03:04Bread's the best!
03:05I've transformed into a whole new person!
03:08Thank you!

03:10Thank you so much!
03:11Wait!
03:12Please tell me your name, sir!

03:30So that's him?
03:31Bread!
03:36This is incredible!
03:38You really are the best in the whole town!
03:41Hey, Brad!
03:43I challenge you!
03:44A barber battle!
03:46What's going on?
03:48Have you ever met this kid before, sir?
03:51No, I've never seen him before.
03:53I'll defeat you and become the greatest barber this town has ever seen!
03:58He's the best in town!
03:59You think you can do better?
04:01He's got no idea what he's up against!
04:05You don't think I'm serious?!
04:08Hey!
04:09Hey!
04:10Hey!
04:12Yeah!
04:13Pretty impressive, isn't it?
04:16Huh?
04:17Hmm.
04:18The width is all wrong.
04:19And the angles are, too.
04:20It's not straight enough across.
04:22What?
04:23What, you?
04:24Wilk, get a watermelon, please.
04:25Yes, Master Bread!
04:26I haven't shown off in a while.
04:28This will be nice!
04:29Whoa!
04:30How do you do that?
04:31It's beautiful!
04:32Wow!
04:33You continue to amaze me, sir!
04:34Well, why don't you go home and watch cartoons, kid?
04:36You see?
04:37You'll need to hone your skills more before we battle.
04:39Ugh!
04:40You're toast!
04:42Wow!
04:43He was kind of a weirdo.
04:45Hmm.

05:13They what?
05:14Oh!
05:16Hmm.
05:17Oh, well, it'll wash off.
05:19There's a bit more than that, though.
05:20Like the ones here, and here.
05:23This took a lot of work.
05:24Huh?
05:26Whoever did this, you'll pay for it all!
05:30Huh?
05:31Huh?
05:32Someone's about to be crumbs!

06:05Let me go!
06:06I'll teach you some respect!
06:10Your rent is already three months behind.
06:13You don't expect me to forget, do you?
06:15Huh?
06:16No!
06:17Dad!
06:18Dad!
06:19Are you okay?
06:20Leave him alone!
06:21Rent should be paid on time.
06:23Psst!
06:24Okay, I'll pay it all!
06:25Just go away!
06:26Oh, you will?
06:27How exactly will you do that without a single customer at your shop?
06:31I'll do it!
06:32Once I defeat Master Bread, more customers will come to our shop!
06:36Bread?
06:37Why would the famous barber, Master Bread, battle a nobody like you?
06:42Too funny!
06:43Let's get real!
06:45Your father's shop is done for!
06:47And your half-baked dreams won't help!
06:49I accept your challenge!
06:51We'll meet in one week, and may the best carb win!
06:55Wait!
06:56Is that Master Bread?
06:58Okay!
06:59Practice a lot, cause I won't go easy on you!
07:10I'd suggest a backup plan for when you lose!
07:13You don't know that I'll lose!
07:15Wilk, how many times have I been challenged?
07:19Well, you've been challenged 900 times, and 900 times you've won!
07:24Huh?
07:25I'm afraid no one in Bakery Town has been able to defeat me yet!
07:30But, there is a way I could help!
07:33I could try to lose the match!
07:36But that's cheating!
07:37I want to really win!
07:39This is no time for pride!
07:40Not if you want to save your father's barber shop!
07:43I'm sure I can lose just this one time!
07:46That'll give you the reputation you need to help out your old pops!
07:50Uh!
07:51Uh!
07:52Bread!
07:53I!
07:54Will!
07:55Win!
07:56Welcome to our very first Bread Barber Throwdown!
08:01We are all about to witness a showcase of barber skills!
08:04Is it true that Bread's up against some kid?
08:05That poor kid's about to get his dreams crushed!
08:06Bread's the easy winner for sure!
08:07Out of 900 tries, he's won 900 times!
08:08Put your pans together for Master Bread!
08:09Yeah!
08:10Master Bread!
08:11Master Bread!
08:12Master Bread!
08:13Master Bread!
08:14And the one ready to get humiliated...
08:15Oh!
08:16It's this kid!
08:17Oh!
08:18Go home, that kid!
08:19Oh!
08:20Will Bread secure his 901st win, and send him to the best of barber skills?
08:22Oh!
08:23Oh!
08:24Oh!
08:25Oh!
08:26Oh!
08:27Oh!
08:28Oh!
08:29Oh!
08:30Oh!
08:31Oh!
08:32Oh!
08:33Oh!
08:34Oh!
08:35Oh!
08:36Oh!
08:37Boy!
08:38Oh!
08:39Well let's find out!
08:40Oh, Kid.
08:41I'll do my best to throw the match.
08:42But I can't control my genius hands.
08:44They often have a life of their own.
08:46You'll still have to give it your all.
08:49Great!
08:50Let's start!
08:51Alright, let's go!
08:52Let's go!
08:53What are you doing?
08:54Here's what I can move!
08:56Well, he's not bad.
08:59But he's not ever the best!
09:01But he's not up to Bread's level at all.
09:05What is that?
09:09What is the cinnamon swirling even doing?
09:15My word! That's a balling!
09:19What a mess! That's gross!
09:21Maybe I do have a fighting chance after all!
09:23It seems that Bread is doing his duty now.
09:26Unusual choice.
09:27Could this be the first time Bread's efforts end up in the toilet?
09:32Oops.
09:33Hey, bro, he's not good like he was before.
09:37Maybe he's lost his touch.
09:39That random kid might actually win!
09:41Dad, I'm gonna win this thing for you.
09:44Your barbershop won't be a...
09:46Huh? What's that?
09:55He's done it again, folks.
09:56After looking like he was about to get flushed,
09:58his style has transformed into an elegant golden dragon!
10:02What? No way!
10:12To the surprise of absolutely no one,
10:14our winner is Master Red!
10:18Congrats, sir.
10:19I'm home, Dad.
10:22I'm home, Dad.
10:24Son, how was the competition?
10:27I'm sorry I failed you!
10:28I tried really hard, but I lost!
10:31It's fine, as long as you did your best.
10:37You here to kick us out?
10:38Oh, please, why would I do that?
10:43Someone else bought this building,
10:45so you'll be their problem now.
10:47Some old man named Bread bought the place yesterday.
10:50He didn't care that the rent's overdue.
10:54Said he wasn't going to ask for rent at all.
10:56Not very business-savvy, if you ask me.
11:01Wow!
11:02For a while, I thought you were going to lose.
11:04What inspired you to turn a piece of poo
11:06into a beautiful golden dragon, sir?
11:08It was nothing.
11:09It was easy as part.
11:11But I must ask,
11:12why didn't you lose to the kid
11:14so you could help his dad out?
11:15Do you think winning unfairly would make him happy?
11:19If he wants to become a wonderful barber,
11:20he must work hard,
11:22learn how to experience defeat,
11:24always be improving himself,
11:25and grow from his losses all on his own.
11:28That's so inspiring, sir!
11:30You're so cool!
11:31Hey, Bread!
11:34You again?
11:35Are you still sore about losing the match?
11:38I'll pay you back for that!
11:39Someday I will!
11:41You can challenge me till you turn stale.
11:43There's no making up for skill.
11:46Thank you!
11:47Whoa!
11:48Thank you so much, sir!
11:50I'll repay your kindness someday!
11:53And I expect interest.
11:55I'm still a business bread, you know.
11:58Wait up, sir!
12:01You're the best!
12:02Get off me!
12:04Don't you have anyone else to bother?
12:08Whoop's Dessert Stories
12:11Hardtack
12:13Hi, everyone!
12:15Wilk here!
12:16Time for another dessert story!
12:18If you've never heard of Hardtack before,
12:20it's also called survival bread.
12:22It's like a cracker.
12:25But where does Hardtack come from
12:26and who invented it first?
12:29The ancient Egyptians ate something called Dora,
12:31a crunchy dry snack made of flour or millet.
12:34It was useful on long ocean trips
12:36because it would keep for a long time.
12:38Eventually, this useful food was brought over to Rome.
12:42There, they made it with water, salt, and flour
12:44and kneaded the dough.
12:46Then, they baked it twice at a low temperature
12:48so it would lose its moisture and, ta-da!
12:50A dry cracker!
12:52It was called Bocellum and it was hard and tasteless
12:54and, frankly, not that tasty.
12:56Soldiers ate it!
12:56In the 15th century, people traveled a lot more by boat.
13:01So they needed food that would last the whole trip.
13:04That's when they made ship biscuits!
13:09Ship biscuits were baked four times so they would last even longer.
13:12But as a result, they were extra hard and crunchy.
13:16So much that they could break your teeth!
13:18I am so hungry!
13:21Check the kitchen deck.
13:22I'm sure there's something there.
13:24Guess it's the only thing left.
13:27Well, that's a bummer. Here.
13:29Sailors had to break the biscuits with rocks and axes
13:32just to eat them.
13:33That's one tough cookie!
13:35British naval officers used to soak them in water
13:38or boil them like oatmeal just to make them edible.
13:42Hey, did you hear?
13:44James got dumped by his girlfriend.
13:47This was bound to end.
13:49Hey! Are you talking about me?
13:51Get real, man. Vanessa was way out of your league.
13:55Whoa, you okay, bro?
13:57Yay!
13:58Sometimes, naval officers would even die
14:00if they got hit by a rogue biscuit during chow time.
14:04So the British Navy had to make a new rule
14:07that you couldn't throw your biscuits at others.
14:09Hardtacks were given other nicknames
14:13like Tooth Destroyer, Iron Plate Cracker,
14:16and Delightful Edible Block of Cement.
14:19In the 19th century, Western culture was introduced to Japan.
14:23With it, they brought this mysterious new snack,
14:26the notorious Ship Biscuits.
14:29But because they were so big,
14:31they decided to start making them into bite-sized pieces instead.
14:33They called it gong pao, or dried bread.
14:36It combined the Chinese word for dry
14:38and the Portuguese word for bread, pao.
14:40Hardtack has been eaten around the world for thousands of years,
14:44but they've always lacked flavor.
14:45100 years ago, 200 years, 1,000 years, even 2,000 years ago.
14:51That's a long time with no flavor.
14:53Well, that's all for today's dessert story time.
14:56Thanks for listening.
14:57See you next time, everyone.
14:58Hi, bread.
15:03Hey, Wilk.
15:06Hello, Chaco.
15:08Yo, sausage.
15:12Listen.
15:14Shushu, super-dooper.
15:18Everybody's super-dooper.
15:20Everything is alright.
15:22Shushu, super-dooper.
15:24Everybody's super-dooper.
15:28Oh, yeah!
15:30B-R-E-A-D.
15:32This is the place to be
15:34Where everybody feels alright.
15:38The cream of the crop.
15:40We're never gonna stop
15:42Till we get you in the spotlight.
15:45Pick your head up
15:47Cause you are never alone
15:49You're in the bread shop
15:51Come on and get in the zone
15:53Let's go!
15:54Na-na-na, where you gonna play?
15:56Na-na-na, what's your love today?
15:58Stir up your imagination
16:01Yeah, yeah!
16:03What is your dream?
16:07We're gonna make it reality
16:11We're on your team
16:13Feels so right, can't go wrong
16:15Come on and sing your new favorite song
16:18Shushu, super-dooper.
16:19Everybody's super-dooper.
16:21Everybody's super-dooper.
16:22Everything is alright
16:24Shushu, super-dooper.
16:26Everybody's super-dooper.
16:28Everybody's super-dooper.
