00:00It may be funky, it may be smart, but one thing's for sure, it's coming from the heart.

00:09What does the word hipster mean to you?

00:13Well, I think hipster means you're cool.

00:17You're cool and that you know what's going on in this world.

00:21Oh, I definitely see myself as a hipster, yeah.

00:24I've always written poetry, I've found it fascinating.

00:28And when rap came along, I thought, isn't this fascinating as well?

00:35And I thought, well, why can't I do rap?

00:39And I learned all about it.

00:41I thought I could use my ability to write poetry, and I did.

00:48And so I started creating rap.

00:51And it was accepted.

00:53People seemed to think I knew what I was doing.

00:56I was really playing it by ear, you know what I mean?

01:00So I wrote some things and sent it to Capitol Records, because that's the street that I always took my mother in when I took her to the doctors.

01:12I thought, that's a good idea.

01:14I'll just send it to them.

01:15Forget about it.

01:16And I forgot about it.

01:17But a month later, I got a call from Capitol Records saying, we heard your Christmas songs.

01:24And we like the rap.

01:26We like the guttural sound.

01:29Oh, yeah.

01:30Yo, listen up, everybody.

01:32Come here.

01:33We're going to share a little Christmas cheer.

01:35It may be funky.

01:37It may be smart.

01:38One thing's for sure.

01:39It's coming from the heart.

01:41We want you all to make a wish.

01:43One that's out of sight and unselfish.

01:46Oh, little Lisa raised her hand.
