Zelenskyy debunks Russia's claim it occupied Kupyansk with in-person visit

The Ukrainian president published a video Friday from Kupyansk in Kharkiv region, visiting Ukrainian positions less than 2 kilometres away from Russian troops and well within the range of Moscow’s drones and artillery.

00:00Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appeared in Kupyansk to debunk Russia's claims that it captured
00:05the frontline town.
00:07On Friday, the Ukrainian president posted a video from a bullet-riddled town signed
00:12at the entrance to Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.
00:16His visit comes nearly a month after Russia's top general, Valery Garasimov, claimed Moscow's
00:21troops had taken the town.
00:24Kyiv rejected the claim and says National Guard units have counter-attacked north of
00:28Kupyansk and circling Russian forces.
00:31Geolocation analysis placed Zelenskyy less than two kilometers from Russian positions and
00:36within range of drones and artillery.
00:39Open source maps show that at least three nearby villages and Kupyansk northern districts remain
00:44under Ukrainian control.
00:46In his post, Zelenskyy said the reality speaks for itself and stressed that results on the
00:51battlefield are vital for diplomacy.
