00:02European Investment Bank President Nadia Calvino has called on the EU to stay united.
00:07Her comments on your news morning show Europe Today come after a week of political hammering
00:12from the U.S. administration.
00:14Washington suggested the bloc is in decline and must reverse course to avoid what it called
00:19a civilizational erasure.
00:22What I feel these days is that I'm more proud than ever to be European.
00:26I think our values are our compass and they must be also underpinning the new world order
00:32which is in the making and our unity is our strength.
00:35That's very clear when so many people are interested in dividing us and weakening the European Union.
00:41According to Calvino, Europe can no longer rely on the transatlantic alliance to remain the
00:46same as it has been for the last 80 years and emphasized that it must build new partnerships
00:52worldwide and ensure that its economy stays strong.
00:55She added that in order to unleash its full economic potential, the EU should speed up
01:00the simplification of its rules while also further integrating European markets.
01:08U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order blocking states from crafting
01:13their own AI regulations, warning that a patchwork of rules could stifle the industry.
01:18Trump argued that competing with China requires a unified approach, saying there is only going
01:25to be one winner.
01:26The order directs the Attorney General to challenge state laws that threatens to withhold federal
01:33funding from states with conflicting AI rules.
01:36Meanwhile, billionaire David Sachs, Trump's AI policy lead, claimed the administration would
01:43target only onerous regulations, though critics argue that this removes vital oversight.
01:49We have over a thousand bills going through state legislatures right now.
01:52States like California and Colorado have already passed laws addressing AI bias and transparency,
01:57which this federal move could now override.
02:07While economic data indicates recovery, the reality for many Italian families is the opposite,
02:14and more people are preparing for a more sober Christmas this year.
02:19Even though the National Institute of Statistics shows employment is increasing, real income
02:24or purchasing power is declining for Italians, according to consumer associations.
02:28We have the lowest income of the world in Europe.
02:33That is, only Greece is after us.
02:35And this is a very, very serious fact for a country like Italy.
02:40Professional associations say labor income decreased by an average of €1,700 between 2019 and 2024.
02:52Combined with rising prices, this decline negatively impacts consumption, even during the holidays.
02:57There is a slight increase in retail sales in terms of value, although the volume remains essentially unchanged.
03:17In other words, people are spending more on the same things because inflation has driven up prices.
03:22In Italy's government has announced measures to adjust wages to inflation better, but consumer associations say it's not enough.
03:29This is the last request.
03:30We hope that it will be received.
03:33That what is told, no, to do a maneuver, to think of the family, to the poorest people or the people who represent the median,
03:44I am happy to think of those who earn a net $2,500 euro.
03:49Italians are striking against the announced financial plan on Friday, affecting transport, schools, health, and services.
04:09Disney is investing $1 billion in open AI and will bring its iconic characters to the AI company's Sora video generation tool.
04:18The three-year deal makes Disney the first major content licensing partner for Sora,
04:24with fans soon being able to generate videos based on more than 200 Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars characters.
04:31As part of the deal, some user-generated Sora videos will be made available on the Disney Plus streaming service.
04:38AI video generators like Sora have wowed with their ability to quickly create realistic clips based on text prompts.
04:46At the same time, a flood of such videos on social media has also raised worries about so-called AI slop crowding out human-created work,
04:55alongside concerns about misinformation, deepfakes, and copyright.
05:00Disney and OpenAI said they are committed to responsible use of AI that protects the safety of users and the rights of creators.
05:07I use Snapchat and Instagram and TikTok. I would say some of my favorites are Snapchat and Instagram.
05:26Just a few months ago, a guy was shot in the US and the video was on social media everywhere and I just went to school and then I saw it.
05:38And even me as a young person, that was very terrible and I felt really bad.
05:45In far too many years we have given the social media platforms free play in the playing rooms of our children.
06:01There's been no limits. When we go into the city at night, there is bouncers who are checking the age of young people to make sure that no one underage get into a party that they're not supposed to be in.
06:15In the digital world, we don't have any bouncers and we definitely need them.
06:19I think it's a good idea. I think that we didn't really realize what we were doing when we gave our children the telephone and social media from when they were eight, ten years old.
06:47And I don't quite think that the young people know what's normal and what's not normal.
06:57I myself have some friends that I only know from online.
07:02And if I wasn't 15 yet, I wouldn't be able to talk with those friends. I wouldn't be able to meet those friends.
07:09And also, you just find things you like or things you want to do or things you really love online.
07:17And if you can't do that, I would be so sad.
07:22I definitely see the bad side of social media. But I think it's not the youth kind of responsibility to make sure there's no bad stuff on the internet.
07:35It's the people who created the government. They need to regulate what we young people see.
07:41At Duma Diagnostics, we personalize cancer treatment by utilizing the power of AIDS.
07:59And while there has been great improvements in cancer care over the last years, there's still a lot of patients that receive toxic treatment with no benefits.
08:21What we aim to do is to identify the patients that truly benefit from the treatment and the patients that have a low risk and can safely forgo this toxic treatment.
08:33We don't really know what the AI is looking for, but we have then afterwards correlated with pathologist evaluation.
08:49And seeing that it makes sense, it picks up many of the features that pathologists also look at.
08:54But it, of course, also combine this and look at things that pathologists may not know yet.
09:00Our AI solution is more accurate in predicting the outcome of the patient than the pathologists are themselves.
09:11So we can supplement the pathologist evaluation and therefore improve the prediction of outcome and therefore personalize the treatment of the patients.
09:21You're the only one on stage with the Monsignor at the time of his killing.
09:36You're the only one at that church who hated his guts.
09:40The spirit really moved him today, huh?
09:42Don't tell me.
09:44What the hell happened?
09:51Everyone thinks I did it.
09:52I didn't do it.
09:54This goes way beyond normal police work.
09:57This is something you and I have not experienced.
10:00I think you're phenomenal in this.
10:05Did you know he would be phenomenal all the way along?
10:08I hoped.
10:11I prayed.
10:12I prayed to God.
10:13No, I was, I, I mean, when, when, I mean, cause Daniel had actually brought, brought, brought Josh to my attention.
10:21And then Lucas showed me, uh, Challengers and I was like, Oh my God.
10:26But then I saw a lot of Chimera and then I, then I delved into more of his work and just, um, I mean, I knew he was a really special actor.
10:33And so I had a suspicion.
10:35A perfectly impossible crime.
10:40This case is solvable, right?
10:42I'm incapable of not solving a crime.
10:44So you'll see.
10:45It's fun.
10:47Yeah.
10:48We keep talking about this.
10:49It was like summer camp.
10:50Like it was truly like, I don't know.
10:52It was such a joyous process.
10:54Like to come back to something like that.
10:56I think sometimes, I don't know.
10:59Movies aren't always like this.
11:02Yeah.
11:03So, so to get to play, like you said, and to, to bounce off each other, to be excited every morning, like what performances were going to come in by all these people that were just massive fans of.
11:13Um, it, it was, I don't know.
11:15It like, it, it was really needed for me.
11:19I think.
11:20Impossible.
11:26Makes me sick.
11:27These kids painted rocket ships all over his sacred resting place.
11:31It's a beautiful melting place.
11:33Thanks.
11:34Fuck.
11:35It's just a dead attack.
11:36Like a crude one on the back.
11:37I wouldn't mind if one is like me.
11:38Oh, yeah.
11:40Like a crude one.
11:41Fo- okay.
11:42I thought I could see you.
11:43I don't know, where I'm going to be a king place.
