FREEDIVER TRAVELLED ACROSS THE GLOBE TO EXPLORE HIDDEN UNDERWATER SINKHOLE GEM
WITH PIX AND VID
By Shuk Yee Tsang
A magical moment was captured by a freediver who explored the striking underwater chamber lit by natural beams of light.
The video was shot by Freediver Adam Stern inside Cenote Uayma Ha one of Mexico’s many limestone sinkholes, each with its own unique formations.
Adam said he travelled “to the other side of the world” for the dive.
He has been considering a return to educational freediving content and asked his followers if they want new tutorials, both short and long format.
Cenotes are considered sacred natural spaces. Local viewers used the comments to express concern about the environmental impact of the ongoing “Tren Maya” construction, which has already damaged several cave systems.
Others urged visitors to protect these fragile environments and support local conservation groups.
Fans also encouraged Adam to resume his teaching videos, requesting guidance on equalising beyond 25 metres, conserving oxygen, and hands-free techniques.
Adam Stern said: “I travelled to the other side of the world to dive here.
“This is Cenote Uayma Ha in Mexico.
“Every cenote is unique and there are tens of thousands of them in Mexico."
