00:00The images we've seen in emergency departments across the country in the
00:04last week speak for themselves. We've got patients on trolleys and corridors,
00:08we've got staff who are struggling to cope with a level of demand, we've got
00:12patients waiting far longer than I would want, than I would want my loved ones to
00:17wait or indeed I'd want anyone to wait and that's not least because of the
00:22enormous pressures of flu. The last thing the NHS needs on top of that is strike
00:27action and that is why I'm urging resident doctors to vote for a good deal
00:31that takes real action on jobs including emergency legislation in the new year,
00:37puts more money in their pockets, ends strikes, gets us through this Christmas
00:42and enables us to start the new year with a fresh start so we can work together to
00:48get the NHS well on the road to recovery.
