00:00So they don't have an issue giving themselves above inflation pay rises.
00:03They have no issue with themselves having, oh well 5% is okay for us, but actually 3% for
00:08you guys also.
00:09We'll stretch out that over a few years because you know what, there's pressures on the country.
00:13The NHS is dying, like honestly it's at its deathbed.
00:18We're struggling, we're really struggling every day.
00:19This strike is for the future, it's not about today, it's not about next week.
00:24We're striking for two reasons, one for full pay restoration and two for more jobs, more training jobs,
00:34so that we can have the consultants of the future trained right now, so that we can sustain and support
00:41our patients for the future.
00:43Fortunately this might have an impact on some patients' ability to get access to care,
00:47but I'd say we're not responsible for the millions long waiting lists, we're not responsible for corridor care,
00:51we're not responsible for people waiting ages to get a GP appointment in one of the richest countries in the
00:56world.
00:57The finger there has to point to the people in power.
