The ACT Supreme Court has sentenced a Sri Lankan national to 30 years jail for the murder of his colleague at the Canberra Zoo and Aquarium in December 2023. Jude Widjesinghe pleaded guilty to the murder in July.

00:28But she said despite his mental health problems, the court could not ignore the fact the crime had been premeditated.
00:37Jude Widgesinger has been in jail since he was arrested in 2023.
00:41He won't be eligible for parole until at least 2043.
