00:00White Cloud, where we attempt to take a giant unicorn
00:04down a treacherous New Zealand river
00:06with some absolutely crazy results.
00:09We take a spectacular chopper ride to Miguel's Glacier Kitchen.
00:14The four things get totally out of control,
00:16but I'm invited to take the Boost Offshore Powerboat for a spin.
00:21All this and so much more here on Top Knotts.
00:30We are here at the beautiful Little Harbour Yacht Club.
00:35How are y'all doing?
00:39Our first story, we go to Queenstown, New Zealand,
00:42where these idiots surprise me with a giant unicorn ride.
00:46Now, I know we do some stupid stuff on this show,
00:48but this, this was ridiculous.
00:53While in Queenstown, someone came up with the crazy idea
00:56of taking a unicorn down the notorious Kawaru River.
01:01And we forgot to tell Felicity, who was caught totally by surprise.
01:06I thought we were going riverboarding.
01:09What is this?
01:10Why would you want to go riverboarding when you can have...
01:13State-of-the-art.
01:14We're going to be.
01:15Don't stop.
01:16What is this?
01:17This is the next level.
01:18We're nearly there.
01:19We're telling me, we're going down that in this.
01:22Yes.
01:23Ten points for creativity.
01:25Yeah!
01:26Hello.
01:29It's a little beauty.
01:32Keep going.
01:33I'm exhausted.
01:35Oh, how easy is this?
01:37Yeah.
01:38Yeah, I would win that.
01:41We've had some pretty loose ideas up still now,
01:45but I really think this one's going to work.
01:48Are you with me?
01:50Definitely not.
01:51I want to take you guys to blow this thing up.
01:52Well, I think most of the water, six hours blowing.
01:53That's the biggest blow.
01:54We do a lot of riverboarding around here.
01:55Never seen anything this crazy go down the river.
01:57Yeah, it's time for everything, guys.
01:58Another world record.
01:59Yes.
02:00Thanks.
02:01If it dashes up against the rock, climb up to the high side of the raft so it doesn't
02:17fully flip over.
02:18One side's going to be way up in the air.
02:20Just work your way on that high side just to balance the raft out enough.
02:23Hopefully she spins off the rock.
02:25Yeah.
02:25Okay.
02:26Otherwise, guys, we might get tipped sideways, pushed up against the rock, and pin there.
02:3150-50 chance.
02:33We stay in.
02:3450-50 begins to be swift.
02:35I like those odds.
02:36Come on, I love those odds.
02:38How stable does this feel right now?
02:40Yeah, we're on flat ground, Rob.
02:43I mean, I heard you top outs, guys, were a bit crazy, but this is just beyond.
02:47Logistically, getting it to the water, has anybody got any ideas yet?
03:17We were so focused on blowing up the unicorn, no-one had given any thought to how we were
03:30going to get the large inflatable down the cliff and into the water.
03:35I don't think we walk this down the rocks.
03:37That's dangerous.
03:38Yeah.
03:38It's way too dangerous going down that way.
03:40I agree.
03:41So what have you guys got in mind?
03:42What's the plan, man?
03:43I think we should lower it off the edge with a rope.
03:46Brilliant.
03:46This will bring it down gently.
03:48Yep.
03:49Tom, get down there underneath it.
03:51We'll lower it down to you.
03:52Miguel, help him out.
03:53Yeah, we've got a rope.
03:54You might just lower it down off the top edge.
03:56What do you reckon?
03:58How long is the piece to rope?
04:00This looks long enough to get it to the bottom.
04:02Anyway, let's go and have a crack.
04:03Let's go and have a crack.
04:05Let's get over.
04:05Take the dino out.
04:07Let's go, guys.
04:08Let's go.
04:08I want to get in the water.
04:09One, three, one, ten, three.
04:11I can head.
04:16One, two.
04:19One, two.
04:21Put it on the sub corners.
04:24Put it on this bed.
04:26Bring the bob around.
04:28Put it on the bed.
04:29Oh, my God.
04:31We're going.
04:33Wait, wait, wait.
04:34Wait, wait, wait.
04:35Sobly.
04:35Wait, wait, wait.
04:36I can't.
04:37It's going.
04:37Sobly.
04:39Wait, wait.
04:39We can take the dinosaur out.
04:41I got it.
04:42It's going.
04:43Sobly.
04:43Okay, slowly.
04:51Yeah, we need some.
04:54There she goes.
04:54No one gets any birds.
04:57There she goes.
04:57Get out of here.
04:58Let her out.
04:59Let her out.
05:00A little bit.
05:01Just a little bit.
05:03Just a little bit.
05:04With the river guides now in hiding,
05:06I was laughing so much.
05:09I was no help to anyone.
05:11It's a sharp bit.
05:13No, no, no, I'm going to the cliff.
05:21Okay.
05:21Hold on, hold on, hold on.
05:24Good day.
05:26How's it going?
05:26She's got to get down the bottom.
05:28I'm going.
05:30More rope.
05:30More rope in there.
05:31More rope.
05:34Somehow, we managed to stumble our way down the cliff
05:38without popping the unicorn.
05:40I'm going down.
05:41I'm going down.
05:42I'm going down.
05:43I'm going down.
05:44I'm going down.
05:45I'm going down.
05:46I'm going down.
05:47I'm going down.
05:47I'm going down.
05:48I'm going down.
05:49Yes!
05:50Don't forget the safety device.
05:51Jump him in!
05:52No!
05:54Yeah!
05:55No!
05:56No!
05:57No!
05:58No!
05:59No!
06:00Oblivious to the dangers ahead, we blindly jumped on board,
06:04hoping for the best.
06:05Pull it up!
06:06Okay!
06:07Holy ****!
06:08Who's going to be the skipper?
06:09No!
06:10No!
06:11No!
06:12Skipper!
06:13Skipper!
06:14Skipper!
06:15I can drive boats!
06:16Aye aye!
06:17Whatever side goes ends up going into the wall,
06:19we need to wake that side.
06:20We have to lean to that side and bring it down.
06:23If it starts to go up, we've got to flatten it out.
06:25So we set off in the hope of becoming the first unicorn
06:35to tame the Kawaru River.
06:38In the history of grain exploration,
06:40we figured this was right up there with the very best.
06:45What?
06:46What are you doing?
06:48That's quite a f***ing area!
06:50Hey!
06:51We're not having any heat on this boat.
06:54Calm down!
06:55Come on!
06:56Come on!
06:57Come on!
06:58Come on!
06:59Come on!
07:00Come on!
07:01Holy ****!
07:02Oh!
07:03Oh!
07:04We're going backwards!
07:05No one had any idea,
07:07not even the experts,
07:09how the unicorn would handle the grey four rabbits.
07:13I can't!
07:14With no way to steer the craft,
07:17we were at the complete mercy of the river.
07:21Come on!
07:22Come on!
07:23We're here.
07:24Come on!
07:25And Helen,
07:27We're here!
07:28Go on!
07:29We're here!
07:30Go on!
07:31We're here!
07:32Go on!
07:33Go on!
07:34Come on!
07:35Come on!
07:36Go on!
07:39Come on!
07:41Come!
07:45What?
07:46Go on!
07:47Come on,
07:48come on!
07:49Oh, my God.
08:19Come on, mate. We've got this. We've got this.
08:23Put it on your head.
08:30All right, everyone.
08:31Oh, jeez.
08:33Everyone's shouting.
08:37We made it. Yes.
08:43We made it.
08:45We made it. Yes.
08:46Having survived the first set of rapids, we began to celebrate
08:51without realising that things were about to go from bad to worse.
09:03Oh, hear that?
09:05Suddenly, the sound of crashing water just ahead
09:08sends us all into a panic.
09:10Oh, f***. I'm with you.
09:14The next rapid was called the man-eater,
09:17which needed no introduction,
09:19and things were quickly spiralling out of control.
09:22Guys, we're getting a bit of speed up.
09:25This is the one they call the man-eater.
09:28Watch out for the rock.
09:29Watch out.
09:30Help me.
09:30With the rapids now in full view,
09:41it was decided to abandon ship
09:43and take our chances in the river.
09:46Abandon ship!
09:47Abandon ship!
09:48Abandon ship!
09:49Abandon ship!
09:50Abandon ship!
09:52Abandon ship!

10:23Abandon ship!
10:24Abandon ship!
10:25Abandon ship!
10:26Let's go.
10:56Let's go.
11:26Let's go.
11:36Despite looking a little worse for wear, somehow our unicorn survived the battering and lived
11:42to tell another tale.
11:44In hindsight, departing the unicorn was probably the only smart decision we made all day.
11:53Despite being told not to get back in, well, we just couldn't help ourselves.
11:59The next rapid was called Hell's Gate.
12:02It wasn't long before we all began to regret the decision.
12:17No!
12:18No!
12:19No!
12:20No!
12:21No!
12:22No!
12:23No!
12:24No!
12:25No!
12:26No!
12:27Oh, God!
12:57Get on the floor!
12:59Get on the floor!
13:01Get on the floor!
13:03Get on the floor!
13:05Get on the floor!
13:11Oh, my God!
13:13Come on, guys!
13:15Come on! Come on!
13:17Get him!
13:19Get him!
13:21There's a big one coming!
13:23Oh, my God!
13:25Oh, my God!
13:55We made it, guys!
13:57We made it!
13:59Oh!
14:01Wow, I'm actually gonna bomb it!
14:03Oh!
14:05Guys, that was close!
14:07I mean, we've done some silly stuff in our day, but...
14:11No, that was...
14:13This is going to work!
14:15As soon as we saw it, I saw it getting lowered down.
14:17I just couldn't stop laughing.
14:19Like, for me, I was like, oh, this is gonna be amazing!
14:21The vision of this unicorn being lowered over water!
14:27Was it beautiful and terrifying on the same day?
14:29It was just absolutely majestic!
14:31Those rapids were serious, though!
14:33They were real serious!
14:35Especially when she lost a bit of air!
14:37I love when we all went into this sandwich!
14:39Oh!
14:40It closed up!
14:41It ate us!
14:42She was eating us alive!
14:43I got a bit scared there for a while, because I was like,
14:45if we all go under, underneath this thing, we're screwed!
14:48Yeah!
14:49How are we getting up?
14:50We were so tangled on top of each other!
14:52At one stage, all the guys were saying,
14:55stop!
14:56Get down!
14:57Get down!
14:58Get down!
14:59Man-eater is named a man-eater for a reason!
15:01I can choose people up!
15:03Yeah!
15:04And...
15:05Not today!
15:06Not us!
15:07You're looking one way, I'm looking at you one way,
15:09then I turn around and there's a rock wall a metre from my face!
15:12Yeah!
15:13And we're going towards it at great speed!
15:14That was what was concerning!
15:16And then you turn and go, oh!
15:18And everyone would dive to one side,
15:20because we were told to get on the high side of the rock!
15:22Oh, but I've never been more twisted and tangled in my life with you three!
15:27I was just...
15:28It was all alone!
15:30No, we can't use that!
15:31What I think we really need to concentrate on next time we do this stuff,
15:39is just get a bit more serious about it!
15:41Screaming, the shouting, the chaos,
15:44we've got to just freak it down!
15:47It's hard when you think this could be your last scream!
15:50Right, everyone was freaking out!
15:52Yeah!
15:53Which made me freak out!
15:54Which made everybody else freak out!
15:56I think next time there's a few lessons learned in this, right?
16:00Don't go in unicorns!
16:02I love you guys!
16:05Lesson number one!
16:06You guys did great!
16:07I thought, what are you guys thinking?
16:08This is never going to work!
16:09You're going to burst unicorn!
16:11It's not going to go wrong!
16:12It's not going to go wrong!
16:13But you guys had a vision!
16:14And it worked!
16:15You guys did it!
16:16Yeah!
16:17That, for me, was the most fun, the most silly stuff that I have ever done!
16:30I laughed the whole way down that river, there were flippers in your face,
16:36people coming over the top of you, we didn't know what was up and what was down,
16:41but it was seriously the most fun I've ever had!
16:47And I did not stop laughing the entire time!
16:51I lost my voice of how much I laughed!
16:53It was like being scared of laughing at the same time!
16:56It was like all the feelings at the same time!
16:59You know what?
17:00When I get that feeling, it was so good!
17:04Come to New Zealand!
17:05I mean, you can do stuff like this!
17:08Honestly, I can't still wipe the smile off my face!
17:10It was super serious!
17:11I think all of us were just like, weren't expecting how crazy these rapids were going to be!
17:15We're like, yeah, guys, we know what we're doing!
17:17Let us go!
17:18We'll be fine!
17:19We'll be fine!
17:20You know, next thing we know, we're all in this unicorn together!
17:23One team, one dream!
17:24Going down these rapids!
17:26You know, the one rule, keep your feet up so you know, they don't hit all these rocks!
17:30Feet were down!
17:31Just hitting all these rocks on the way down!
17:34There was screaming, there was yelling, there was shouting!
17:36For me right now, I'm like, this is why I signed up for this show!
17:39I love silly stuff like that!
17:41It's so crazy and so outlandish!
17:43And it worked!
17:45From the second we just blew that thing up and you think, wow!
17:50It's massive!
17:52And you get a group of four into it, lower it down the rocks, put it in the water.
17:57I was a bit worried actually, the first corner.
17:59I thought this is, you know, we could be in trouble here.
18:01We'd had some warnings from the professionals, ignored them.
18:05Like, we just went for the wall and I thought, like, you know, there were tips.
18:09You know, if it goes up that side then push on that side and we were all really enthusiastic to start with.
18:14And then we realised that it actually was going down the river okay.
18:18And we thought, we're going to ride this thing.
18:20Then there was the big rapids.
18:23They really didn't want us in the unicorn for the big rapids.
18:26So we thought, we're staying!
18:28And it just went over and it had punctured off the rocks.
18:32It had a couple of ruptures then it wrapped us up like a ball.
18:36We were like plasticine people inside a blow-up unicorn for about 20 seconds.
18:40It was amazing.
18:42And then all of a sudden the river went calm and we drift into paradise, which is where we are now.
18:49And the poor unicorn hasn't survived, bless its little soul.
18:53But we have lived to fight another day.
18:56Come on!
18:58Only in New Zealand.
19:05Craziest thing I've ever done and I'm still smiling.
19:08Wow.
19:09That was pretty stupid, bud.
19:11It was pretty fun.
19:12I've never laughed so much in 45 years.
19:17So that was crazy.
19:18You know, I'm kind of glad I missed that one.
19:20I think I dodged a bullet.
19:21You guys are crazy.
19:22That was nuts.
19:23It was the craziest thing we've ever done.
19:24And I think after doing such an amazing activity,
19:27we went to the Queenstown Primary School to get a real taste on New Zealand with the most beautiful welcome ever.
19:34Check this out.
19:35and so on.
19:36You've got to.
19:37Oh my god.
19:38You've got to be a good friend.
19:40You've got to be a good friend now.
19:41Oh my god.
19:42Okay, all thelevel a good friend.
19:43Oh my god.
19:44Kumi amai te waka, kumi amai te waka, ki te takotoa ngai, takotoa i te waka.
19:57Yeah!
19:58Very good.
20:00He's awesome.
20:01He's official.
20:02For the sakes, we're in a hockey now.
20:04Yes, I know.
20:05I thought you'd know it up.
20:06Can you lead us?
20:08Who we are, maikoia, whakahuatia, ke kwa.
20:15Who we are, maikoia, whakahuatia, ke kohai te parengenie.
20:22Ko fiti rea, ko fiti rea.
20:26Ko wai te te ko te ko te iruna.
20:30Ko paikea, ko paikea hi te pionu.
20:36Na nae noho te roko tae.
20:39Aue, aue, ekoruru kwekko roe.
20:44Yeah!
20:45Yeah!
20:46Yeah!
20:47Woo!
20:48Woo!
20:49Hey!
20:50Thank you so much.
20:51Thank you so much.
20:52Thank you so much.
20:53Thank you so much.
20:54Thank you so much.
20:55Thank you so much.
20:56Thank you so much.
20:57Thank you so much.
21:02There is something very special, almost spiritual,
21:05about the Maori culture.
21:08And we were all touched by the performance of the kids
21:11and their warm welcome.
21:13and we are crispers now,
21:14so with you,
21:15like an old boy,
21:17more beautiful.
21:18Welcome.
21:20When it comes to water safety, this little baby is an absolute game changer.
21:47You'd never go offshore without one, it's called an EPIRB, Electronic Positioning Indicating
21:53Radio Beacon, and it is compulsory for any boating offshore.
21:57This little guy can be manually activated or transmit a GPS signal so that your exact
22:02position can be located anywhere in the world.
22:05But Tom, whatever you do, unless it's an absolute emergency, you never press that button.
22:11Oh, my bad.
22:13You didn't press it, did you?
22:15It's for you.
22:22After all the activity, I mean, the team is hungry.
22:31So I decided to take us all to an amazing chopper ride to the Clark Glacier.
22:36And we went there to cook a real New Zealand treat, the New Zealand mussels.
22:40And I reckon just getting there was half of the fun.
22:47And we are in Hawaii.
22:48Oh, my God.
22:49Oh, my God.
22:50Holy, you are kidding.
22:51Oh, my God.
22:52Oh, my God.
22:53Holy, you are kidding.
22:54Oh, my God.
22:55Oh, my God.
22:56Oh, my God.
22:57Oh, my God.
23:05Oh, my God.
23:08Holy, you are kidding me.
23:10Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay.
23:12Here he goes.
23:17Are you kidding me?
23:19George, no way.
23:27Oh, my.
23:29Okay, then.
23:30Send it.
23:31Ha, ha, ha, ha.
23:32Oh, damn.
23:38Oh, amazing.
23:43Look how high it is.
23:44Oh, we are going straight to head in, guys.
23:50Yee-haw.
23:51Holy s***.
23:54Are you kidding me?
24:00When he's filming with an iPhone, what is he filming?
24:05He's filming us filming with an iPhone.
24:08Whoa, amazing.
24:10Wow.
24:14Look at that for a chunk of us.
24:16Come on.
24:17Oh, no way.
24:18That's incredible.
24:18Oh, no way.
24:20Oh, ho, ho, ho.
24:22Look at the color of it.
24:23Yeah, remarkable isn't it, man?
24:26I love those glues.
24:27Oh, James, great job, man.
24:30Oh, well, look at those crevasses.
24:33Oh.
24:33I love flying choppers.
24:39Ha, ha.
24:39Ha, ha, ha.
24:41Oh, yeah, coming in for landing.
24:52Rockstar Carpone.
24:53Yeah.
24:54Wow.
24:55Well done, mate.
24:55Nice, Evan.
24:56Well done, mate.
24:57Really, really love that.
25:00Top Notes lovers, here we are in the closest you're going to get to heaven for a kitchen.
25:16The Clark Glacier.
25:184,500 feet above the ground.
25:21We're cooking one of the most amazing, quintessential ingredients from the land of New Zealand.
25:27The green leaf mussel.
25:28And for that, I need the best sous chefs in the world.
25:31Peeps.
25:32All right.
25:33So, good boy.
25:33Okay.
25:34Cooking mussels is one of the most amazing things.
25:36Because mussel is like trapping inside a mussel.
25:40It's actually trapping inside a little bit of the ocean.
25:43So, it's the real flavor of the ocean.
25:45Oh, yeah.
25:45Okay, inside is still alive.
25:47And inside, you've got this amazing seawater.
25:50So, when we steam them and they're slightly open, we're going to discover one of the most amazing...
25:55No, no.
25:55Hold it.
25:56Hold it.
25:56Hold it.
25:56Hold it.
25:57Hold it.
25:58One of the most amazing flavors in the world.
25:59Now, I want you to do the beard, the mussels.
26:02So, you're going to hold that.
26:03Pull.
26:04You see the beard?
26:05No more beard.
26:06Start the beard in the mussels, please.
26:08Yeah.
26:09I'll show you again.
26:10Some mussels have more beard than others.
26:12So, you hold two fingers and you're the beard, the mussel.
26:15Okay.
26:15I've really butchered this one.
26:17No, ladies and gentlemen.
26:18I can't do that.
26:18The thing is, we're going to achieve flavors like citrus, spice, white wine, and cream.
26:25Because we want a solution.
26:26We want a sauce that is going to emulsify with the water inside.
26:29So, we want big flavors.
26:30So, what I'm going to get you to do, Tommy Boy, that's an orange, a little bit better than that.
26:35We got some butter, okay?
26:38And we're going to get some zest.
26:40When you do the zest in a citrus, you only want to get the zest.
26:44So, it's a yellow part.
26:46So, it's just a skid.
26:46Yeah, you don't want to take the pith.
26:48Because the pith is really bitter.
26:50What?
26:50Don't take it.
26:51You like taking the pith.
26:52So, now, I've been keeping a lot of heat in here.
26:56Because we're going to build a lot of heat in the wok.
26:58So, what we're going to do now, everybody's going to have a job.
27:03The wine?
27:03Rob, you the wine.
27:05I mean, I'm already deep-beating.
27:07I'm the only one deep-beating the mussels, please.
27:09Okay, Grandenio, you'll do the lemons.
27:12Okay.
27:12We're going to as well maybe use some of the spring onions.
27:15Whoa!
27:16Wait, wait, no, no, no, no, not yet.
27:18So, when you steam mussels, it's all our speed and just accuracy.
27:24You have to go boom, boom, boom.
27:25So, you contain all the heat.
27:27So, what we're going to do.
27:29The butter.
27:30Butter first.
27:31Oh, the chicken.
27:32Okay, ready?
27:33Ready?
27:33Yep.
27:34Butter.
27:34Go.
27:34Wait.
27:35So, you know, wait, wait, wait.
27:36A little melt, a little melt.
27:37Mussels.
27:39Okay.
27:40Orange juice.
27:41Lemon juice.
27:43Chili.
27:43No, no, wait, wait.
27:44Everybody wait for the turn.
27:45Put more mussels in there.
27:46I'm trying.
27:47So, the chili, we're going to keep the seeds.
27:49Here we go.
27:49Because we want nice and spicy.
27:51Okay, mussels in there.
27:52We got some chives.
27:54These same family as the garlic.
27:55Wine, a little bit of wine.
27:57Wine.
27:57Chef.
27:58Oh, jeez, man.
27:59Wine, wine.
27:59Yeah, right.
28:00Imagine working for you.
28:01Salt and pepper.
28:02I'm up.
28:03Stop.
28:04Lemon.
28:05Squeeze it.
28:06Squeeze it really hard.
28:07Squeeze it like you stole it.
28:08More mussels.
28:09Yes, Chef.
28:10Throw it in.
28:10More mussels.
28:11Yes, Chef.
28:11Throw it in.
28:12Okay.
28:13Throw it in.
28:14And this is what you want.
28:15You want that sauce to have all that amazing flavors.
28:18We got chili.
28:18We got the butter for that thickness.
28:21We got salt and pepper.
28:22We got that amazing citrus.
28:23And all that is going to turn this into a masterpiece.
28:27What we need to do now.
28:28More?
28:28Please.
28:29Is he doing anything?
28:30I haven't done a beat.
28:31None of the cream is out there.
28:32All right.
28:32What we're going to do now is trying to create a little bit of a...
28:35A cabbie house.
28:36We're going to...
28:36A cabbie house.
28:37We were a cabbie house to cook the ultimate, most famous dish in New Zealand.
28:42There is the green shelled mussels.
28:44I think, as experienced, as a seafood chef, one of the most precious pieces of seafood in
28:51the world.
28:52I think when we're in Australia, it gets frozen and we don't appreciate it.
28:56When it's fresh, look at the size of that.
28:58Yeah, wow.
28:58Look at the beautiful color.
29:00So where else in the world you'll have an amazing kitchen like this?
29:03Come on, have a look at this.
29:04Okay, so to finish, Grant, you're going to pick some, just the leaves of the parsley.
29:07I want you to give the last to finish the sauce.
29:10You see how the mussels are all open?
29:11Yep.
29:12I want you to give it a good dash of cream.
29:14Okay, you tell me when.
29:15Okay.
29:16It's drizzling like...
29:17Oh, yeah, real good.
29:18It's good.
29:18Very good.
29:20And now we're going to finish with a little bit of a spring on it.
29:22The whole thing, Miguel?
29:23No, yes, that's enough.
29:23That's beautiful.
29:24Let's go ahead and give it a stir, please.
29:26Okay.
29:26Let's stir everything together and you can see how that beautiful mussels, they all open.
29:31The sauce, look at the sauce.
29:33I mean, the wine sauce.
29:33It's smelling very good.
29:35And this is the magic of mussels.
29:36I mean, I remember growing up in Spain.
29:39My mom used to go paya with mussels in the beach and you eat it without any calorie.
29:44So you use the spoon.
29:46The mussel is the spoon.
29:47So you get the sauce here.
29:50And what do you do?
29:52You use that as a device.
29:53So it's a perfect communal meal.
29:55You don't have to wash up.
29:57You don't have to do anything.
29:58All you do is please enjoy.
30:00Oh, Miguel.
30:01So good.
30:02Wow.
30:03That's how delicious it tastes like.
30:06Get out of the kitchen.
30:06What's the sauce?
30:07Oh, that's a big one.
30:09Don't worry, boys.
30:10That is a big one.
30:11Here.
30:12Here.
30:12Right.
30:12That is gorgeous.
30:13Get it.
30:14My dear.
30:15That's beautiful.
30:16Look at the size of the mussel.
30:17You have to want to...
30:17Oh, my God.
30:17It's really hot.
30:18You have to do the whole thing.
30:19It's really good though.
30:19Tom.
30:20Here.
30:21I'm going to get in there.
30:21It doesn't get better than this.
30:23Wow.
30:23This is amazing, Miguel.
30:25You have outdone yourself.
30:26James.
30:27What about our pilot?
30:28James, please.
30:29James, come on in.
30:30We need some real locals to try and say this is a real deal.
30:33Oh, mate.
30:35It's amazing.
30:37It's got a little bit of cream, white wine, local wine, local citrus.
30:41All the herbs are local.
30:42Beautiful.
30:42And this is the closest to heaven we will be in a kitchen.
30:45Thank you for bringing us here.
30:46No problem.
30:47Yeah, thank you, James.
30:47Thanks so much.
30:48See you.
30:58No matter what time of the day that you go out boating, it's still so important to have
31:02a torch on board in good working order.
31:05Rob, at least my help.
31:16And the batteries are just as important as the torch.
31:22Alright, so this next one put the absolute fear of God into me.
31:27Yeah.
31:27Right?
31:27Like, so I got invited to go and drive an offshore racing powerboat.
31:32These things are nuts.
31:33Like, it does 260 kilometres an hour.
31:36Did you hear me?
31:36260 kilometres an hour.
31:39Now, you guys know I race cars, right?
31:42So I like speed.
31:43Speed's my thing.
31:43Okay?
31:44But this was completely ridiculous and completely out of my league.
31:51I've got to be honest, it's so much better than I thought it was going to be.
31:54Once you're coming around this corner.
31:55Over here.
31:56Back over there.
31:57Hold the shot too.
32:00I know, I know.
32:01How are the little toy boats going, guys?
32:04Where'd you go?
32:04Get around the seagull.
32:05Okay.
32:05Alright, alright, alright, alright.
32:09So much better.
32:10So good.
32:10What if I said I had something a little bit bigger?
32:13What do you mean?
32:14Right there.
32:16How long has that been there?
32:18Don't worry about how long it's been there.
32:20We're going on it.
32:22Yes!
32:22Darren, Grant, how are you?
32:26Hi, Grant, how are you?
32:27Great, boys.
32:28Rob.
32:28Rob.
32:28Tom.
32:29Tom, how are we?
32:29Thanks to mention.
32:30I've watched these for a long time on television and have been in absolute awe because it's
32:34kind of, it's Formula One on water.
32:37Yeah.
32:38It's nuts.
32:39Explain to us what we're looking at here.
32:40What is it exactly?
32:42It's twin engine.
32:43They're 1075, it's nearly 1,100 horsepower a side.
32:46It's a catamaran, so the air goes down the tunnel and it rides up on a cushion.
32:53If it had wings, would it fly?
32:55Yeah.
32:56Yeah.
32:57Yes, it wouldn't.
32:58That's why you called the pilot, right?
33:00I think so, but the idea is not to fly.
33:02Hey, Darren, are we able to have a closer look up top on the deck?
33:06Stairway to heaven.
33:07Or hell, take your pick.
33:09Oh, look at these ponies.
33:11So normally they're, except it's just dirty from the trip down, normally they'd be immaculately
33:17clean.
33:18So that's what?
33:191,100 horsepower?
33:211075.
33:22Please!
33:22There's just twins to charge up top, so there's plenty there.
33:25When you hear them start up, they are noisy.
33:27Wow.
33:29That's a lot of horsepower.
33:31It's a bit different to a race car, isn't it, mate?
33:33Well, there's two of them, for starters.
33:37Each side has a hatch.
33:39Oh!
33:40Man, I'm busting to get in and have a look.
33:42I mean, you know, you know cockpits.
33:44Mate, I've admired these things for so long.
33:48Oh, yes!
33:51Do we need to push them?
33:53I want to need two.
33:55No!
33:58No!
34:01Mate!
34:01I just, I, it staggers me that you can do the speeds and be tossed around by whatever
34:10the ocean's whim is, and you can do it competitively.
34:14Unbelievable.
34:15What chance does an outsider have of operating one of these for the first time?
34:18If you want to go for a run, you're more than welcome to put muddy on the throttle, so you've
34:23just got to hang on to the wheel, look forward and smile.
34:26Yes!
34:27Are you serious?
34:28Yep, you can do that.
34:29Easy.
34:29Piece of cake.
34:30Are you fitting him?
34:31Yeah, you can do that.
34:32Easy.
34:33Oh!
34:34Did ya!
34:35It's on my skull!
34:36Go!
34:37Go!
34:38Go!
34:38Yeah!
34:39I'll definitely need to see over the steering wheel though to operate this thing safely.
34:44Anyone got a phone book or two?
34:46When I asked the question, could anyone operate this thing, I didn't think it was going to chuck
34:49me the keys in this.
34:51I wasn't prepared for this.
34:53I don't know if it's the 2,000 horsepower or the fact that he said that when you turn too
34:56sharp, it just flips over in the water like that.
34:59I don't know if I want to do it.
35:01This is a lot of machine worth a lot of money, and big and bad things can happen when you get
35:05it wrong.
35:06What's worst case scenario in one of these?
35:09If there was a collision, the hole gets breached, and if you're upside down, there's a lot of
35:14water coming in, so eye goggles on, so I can feel my way out of the boat.
35:19You ever get scared?
35:20Yeah.
35:21I reckon you would.
35:22Yeah, yeah.
35:23I think if you don't get scared, you should give it away.
35:36Oh my god.
35:56Oh my god.
35:58I don't want to do this.
36:01What did you say?
36:04It sounds good.
36:06That's just one.
36:08Oh.
36:08What the hell?
36:12Oh, here we go.
36:26Oh, listen to that.
36:30The noise is bouncing off all the buildings.
36:34Look at the water coming off the back.
36:36Now, despite coming from a motor racing background, I'd never driven a boat with this much power,
36:58and I was starting to have second thoughts.
37:01They spent half an hour telling me what to do to save my own life,
37:05but they didn't once spend a single second
37:07on telling me how to drive the thing.
37:08Yeah, I did notice that.
37:10You know what I mean?
37:11How have they let you drive this thing
37:13after 10 minutes of instruction?
37:16They haven't seen whether I can reach the steering wheel yet.
37:18Like, this is on them, not me.
37:20Like, if this goes wrong...
37:22I'm not buying it.
37:23You sort of... You got it. That's, like, the rule.
37:25All right, guys, wish me luck.
37:26Go, guys! Go, guys! Go, guys!
37:27Go, guys! Go, guys!
37:28Yeah, this has been a long time making for me.
37:35As a little boy, I watched these things in absolute awe
37:38and now getting to sit behind the steering wheel myself.
37:41Chris, can we come back here watching?
37:47All righty, boys.
37:48I think we're good to go.
37:50Oh, my God!
37:52I've strapped myself to a rocket.
37:54I don't know if I'm coming back.
38:03What the hell?
38:06Grant, this is Tom and Rob.
38:08Just remember, mate, I kept her nice and straight.
38:11Nice and straight.
38:13Got you.
38:14Good.
38:14Yeah, that was good.
38:15A good, nice and straight.
38:16Here he goes, here he goes, Den you loading up, Den you're on the wheel, the gas is down
38:32You can really feel the air got underneath it, don't you?
39:02Yeah, righto, grand, nice, warm up now, would you please crank it up?
39:24I should never have listened to Rob, just as I was getting confident, I hit some chop and in a frightening moment, I started losing control.
39:32He's out of the water, look at him go!
39:44Grand, grand for f***ing sake, slow down!
39:47Look at this, he's into smooth water now going, thank god for that!
39:59Woo!
40:00Yeah!
40:01Woo!
40:02Woo!
40:03Woo!
40:04Woo!
40:05Oh my god!
40:06Oh my god!
40:07Oh my god!
40:08Jesus!
40:09Next, next level f***!
40:10Just when I thought that I had everything under control, I cut a corner too fine and then it sent the boat into a dangerous tailspin.
40:23Dangerous tailspin!
40:24That was pathetic!
40:25Would you please stop driving like a grandmother?
40:26I thought you were a race car driver!
40:28I can't believe he's actually listening to you, I swear, he's now going faster!
40:49Look out, here he comes!
40:50Wow!
40:51Look at him go!
40:52On my way back I thought I'd buzz the tower, Top Gun style!
41:20I can't believe how that feels, that's like nothing on earth, this is just a plane, this is not a boat!
41:39I don't think I've blinked for about 8 minutes!
41:41Your mouth's all dry!
41:43I think I've f***ed myself!
41:45Oh mate, you're an absolute legend!
41:49That was a little boy's wildest dream!
41:51Thank you so much!
41:52Thank you!
41:53Woohoo!
41:54Yeah!
41:55Woohoo!
41:56How was it?
41:57I didn't blink for about 5 minutes!
41:58Really?
41:59My mouth's all dry!
42:00You were dancing out there!
42:01It's so dancey that when he gets air underneath it, you think you're going to put one more millimetre of steering on it's going to be too much and it's going to turn hard left and just roll!
42:09It was terrifying!
42:10Really?
42:11Proper terrifying!
42:12Really?
42:13Yeah it was scary!
42:14But you're all in one piece now!
42:15You're all in one piece!
42:16Yeah!
42:17You're all in one piece!
42:18That was so good!
42:19That was more than my senses can handle!
42:21I'm used to speed but my internal gyro is used to flat surfaces!
42:25The fact that this is going up and walking on its bum and then the horizon's doing this, your internal gyro is like, what is happening here?
42:30Just everything's wonky, blurry, deafening, and absolutely amazing!
42:34I can't believe I let us drive it out!
42:35It was really terrifying!
42:36It was really terrifying!
42:37Yeah it was scary!
42:38But you're all in one piece now!
42:39You're all in one piece!
42:40Yeah!
42:41It was so good!
42:42That was more than my senses can handle!
42:43I'm used to speed but my internal gyro is used to flat surfaces.
