00:00And we have swapped weapons to the Bayonet. This is an interesting weapon archetype in the game,
00:07you'll find different varieties of this. It does allow for both ranged and melee combat,
00:11so you'll need ammunition to do the ranged, but it's got quite an interesting moveset as you can
00:17see in melee range as well. So this is a really cool sort of versatile playstyle that you can
00:23employ if you like bayonets. It's pretty useful here in this area here as we're, you know, trying
00:32to navigate these narrow corridors and two ranged enemies that are shooting us from afar, so the
00:38bayonet will let us shoot back as well as get in their face. So depending on how you like to play,
00:46the bayonet might be a great option. There's multiple options for you to check out as you go
00:51through the game, different archetypes. Of course, the bayonets, again, they do need ammunition, so we
01:00might have to reload here soon, as you can see there. And as you can see, Noah, our companion Noah,
01:07is talking to us right now, but you don't see him on the screen. That's because he's currently
01:12assimilated. So in this game, you're going to have a partner or a companion, but you can choose whether
01:18that companion is active and out on the field, or you're basically assimilating them to tap into
01:24their powers. So we're getting some bonuses, as you can see reflected at the bottom of the screen,
01:28we're being buffed by Noah right now, even though he's not out on the field. So if you like to play
01:34solo or if you like to play with a companion, you can fit the playstyle to that. And now we've moved a
01:41little further along in the ruins. We're using the runic blades, quite an unusual weapon, as you can see,
01:46sort of hovering behind us. It's a very unique playstyle and very different than a lot of the
01:51other melee weapons in the game. And as you can see, the bow can come in handy in combat,
01:56as well, with a quick, quick flip. And we're going in there. There we go.
02:07And yeah, in these ruins again, lots of little things to pick up as you go through.
02:17So here we are. Now we're heading to the first major boss of the game. And as you can see,
02:21we've got our partner Noah with us to help on this fight. He'll be trying to take some of the
02:27boss's attention, doing some damage. Every partner has their own special abilities and attacks that
02:31they bring to the table. So really handy to have during these big boss battles. But of course,
02:36you're still going to have to be doing quite a bit of dodging, blocking, getting in there,
02:39and learning the boss moveset as well.
02:45You can see we've accumulated quite a few bleeds on the dejected assailant here.
02:52So once you've got an enemy nice and bleeding like that, you can capitalize on that with the jail
02:56item, which we haven't talked about a whole lot. This is an auxiliary weapon type, and it comes in
03:01different forms. So you'll probably see one of them coming up here as we capitalize on what we've done to him.
03:11Getting some heals in.
03:18And of course, you're going to want to keep your I-Core high so you can continue to use your special
03:22abilities and powers, which will make a big impact on fights like this. You can see we've got a stagger
03:27on there. Now we're going to execute an attack with our jail. It gives you an AoE attack, sort of a cone
03:31attack in front of you. And of course, you'll crit with the jail as well anytime you've staggered an
03:36opponent. So here we're moving into phase two. As you can see, our boss has kind of lost his head.
03:41There was a cinematic here involved with the phase two transition, but we're keeping that out so we can
03:46keep it a surprise later. But with that, he's gained new abilities as he's now holding his head,
03:51and he has a whole new moveset due to that. You'll see here we're getting in there with that slash.
03:57The starter sword only has one special attack, but it's still very useful. Here we're charging up our
04:01jail. Look at that. Getting in with the jail, the jail can attack by itself as well. So a nice little
04:05spinny side attack there with the Reaper jail. Jails come in different flavors. So depending on your
04:12play style, you'll pick one that fits the situation. Got the boss back into the corner here,
04:18doing some really, really great damage. Of course, with his head now on his arm,
04:26he's got all kinds of different attacks, including head lasers, which you never want to mess with.
04:32Ooh, this isn't looking very good, huh?
04:41Oh, well, that was a really good attempt.
04:43So before we take you into the action proper, we've got to create a character.
04:49And Code Vein 2 features an extremely robust character creator suite of options.
04:54Right now we're looking at some of the presets that you can pick from, but you can create your
04:57character down to the last detail. Eyes, hair, scars, all kinds of different things that you can tweak
05:03and design to your exact specifications. But if you feel like just picking one of the presets and
05:08getting right into the action, you can do that too. As you can see, we have all kinds of different
05:12hairstyles, all kinds of different options for you to pick from. And you can spend a lot of time in
05:18this character creator, I know I have. And you can get things just right, you can spend hours in here
05:22if you want. But you can also just take a preset, the presets are also awesome. And they come with
05:29some really cool outfits. But you can again, it's not just setting your makeup, it's not just setting
05:33your eyes, you're gonna be picking your outfit completely hats, accessories, masks, capes, whatever you
05:40want. You know, they're all here from from the very serious to the very goofy options. They're all
05:45available for you, depending on what you want to do. I mean, look at these hats. I definitely want to
05:49go with look, look at those ears. I want some of those. I'm getting a pair of those. So that's my
05:54character, but you can create yours however you like. As you can see here, it extends to full outfits
06:00that you can have to I'm thinking you might spend a lot of time in here if you're one of those players
06:05that likes to really customize your character. And if you don't, that's what the presets are for just grab and go.
06:10Once you've got your character set up to look at, we can you can change all these other aspects of
06:16it to get the great screenshot, share it with your friends. And we're getting right into it.
06:21Excellent. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance at last. All right, then. I need you to wake up now.
06:40Ah, you've come too.
06:53As I feared, the memories may still take some time to return.
06:57Forgive me. I certainly didn't mean to startle you. My name is Lou Magmel. I am a revenant.
07:07Bear with me for this may come as a shock. You have died once already.
07:23This is where I used a ritual to resurrect you. I gave half of my heart in order to restore yours.
07:35As a consequence, we now share the same heart, you and I. We are two lives intertwined as one.
07:46You seem well, all things considered.
07:56I'm glad.
07:57Do you think you can stand? There is someone that I'd very much like for you to meet.
08:09I know it's all new, but it's okay. You can trust me.
08:20Another world snuffed from existence.
08:40There's only one way to prevent this tragedy before they reach the point of no return.
08:46I'll use my power to transport us back to a time before the upheaval.
08:52Once we're there, hopefully we can make contact with each of these legendary heroes.
08:59A battle to save the world from ruin.
09:03Let's go. Wherever you go, I will always be by your side.
09:08My name is Valentin Voda.
09:26So, you're a solo hunter, are you?
09:29Tell me, do you have a place to stay in Magmel yet?
09:32A revenant hunter?
09:34Not now. Get away from here.
09:36Well, can't say I remember hiring you, but if you're game, lend me a hand.
09:41And Valentin, he'll be the most powerful figure out here on the frontier.
09:49The hero Jose. A revenant who fell victim to her very own powers.
09:53So tell me, my mysterious visitor, who are you?
09:58In the name of the great Ghula bloodline, I do bestow upon you my blood as proof of our engagement.
10:08Until the resurgence struck, these horrors must have been the city's residents.
10:12Let's go. It's high time I faced my past.
10:18When the balance of power shifted from human to revenant, there was change.
10:23Dramatic shift. The human spirit was twisted beyond recognition.
10:28If someone has to get hurt, I would rather it be me.
10:32So far as I know, your case is entirely unprecedented.
10:38Off to kill again?
10:40We all know these are bloody times we live in.
10:43Every one of us is desperate to survive.
10:46But you crossed a line killing my people.
10:48Raiders making their move, huh?
10:51That should at least give you enough time to escape.
10:56That ring. Damn it. There's no getting through to him.
11:00Kurs! Damned, wretched Kurs!
11:03They would dare to truly scoot so low!
11:06Do you remember the statue of that revenant I showed you in the present?
11:12If fate runs its course, Noah will die fighting the Raiders, and the others here won't fare much better.
11:19Need I remind you that tampering with history, unless under the most extreme of circumstances, is strictly forbidden?
11:30What will you do if your meddling ends up costing more lives?
11:34And just like that, we are off to the races.
11:46And just like that, we are off to the races.
12:00This is Lou.
12:02Lou is the first character in the game we're going to meet, and a character that's one of our companions.
12:06You'll encounter many of these over the course of the game.
12:09Lou is a revenant who has a very, very special power in this game.
12:13In fact, the only revenant that can control time.
12:16So this will be very important as we move through the game, her special ability.
12:20And like all companions, Lou will also travel with you and fight with you.
12:25Each companion has special abilities that they bring to combat.
12:28And you can also assimilate your ally for some extra bonus powers, but we'll talk about that later.
12:37For now, we've just started the journey here in Magmel, and we're going to be heading out into the world.
12:49So this island of Magmel is sort of a tutorial area for the player to get used to things before heading out
12:55into the greater world.
12:58So we'll get a taste of the action here.
13:03And you see we just picked up some flour there.
13:05You can find all kinds of useful consumables in the world that you can use to craft helpful tools and items.
13:11So obviously things like flour and other food items will help us make some tasty treats
13:14that might give us some bonuses, buffs, or healing.
13:28Another world snuffed from existence.
13:43And you see we can find a taste of the work that you could also make a taste of.
13:48But I'm sorry.
13:49This is a craft of a toy.
13:50So that's why you can enjoy that one of us.
13:51Now we're back in the middle of the game.
13:52We're back in the middle of the game.
13:52By the way, people, people are not doing well.
13:53How am I going to party?
13:53And we're on the road?
13:54And it's not going to be a little bit better.
13:55But I can't find a bit better.
13:56But I want to think about oh my god.
13:56Oh god, my god.
13:57Let's be a bit better.
13:58So if we move off the ground there, we're on the top two-level moments.
13:59Oh god.
13:59So here are you on the map.
13:59I think we're about to kind of a little bit.
14:00How do we go?
14:01Luckily the residents were all evacuated in time
14:29Thanks in no small part to your efforts
14:32My name is Lavinia Rhoda
14:36It is I who carries on the great Idris' mission and legacy
14:42It is you, though, who must save the world of man
14:49So Lavinia and Lou are basically going to be your companions here
14:56At the beginning here to get you through the concept of
14:59We're going to travel to the past to save the present, essentially
15:02Code Vein 2 hinges on time travel as a huge element of it
15:08So basically we're going to go to the past to save the future
15:11More or less
15:12So that's very important here in establishing the plot
15:16We've now entered a ruins area
15:18Which is sort of an introductory dungeon area
15:20And here you're going to get a quick taste of the combat
15:24We're getting some blocking, some rolling
15:26You can see these little slashes accumulate on the enemies there
15:31Those are bleeds
15:32And we can capitalize on that
15:35By attacking with the jail item
15:38Which will give us I-Cor
15:40Which is the resource we're going to be using
15:41To facilitate our special attacks
15:43And special abilities
15:44So it's very important in the pace of combat
15:48To, you know, put some slashes on the enemy
15:50And then essentially acquire them
15:52To keep your pool of resources high
15:55With this introductory sword
15:57We've got this nice little
15:58As you can see, sort of a dash lunge attack
16:00Which can help us close the distance to end very quickly
16:02Get in and out of combat easily
16:05It's a very useful introductory move
16:07That you'll have on your starting blade
16:08As you can see, we're maneuvering around the enemy here
16:14Getting behind them
16:15Executing a nice little stagger and a crit attack
16:18Those are going to do tons of damage
16:20Great way to take out opponents
16:21As you can see, in this smaller dungeon
16:26There's still plenty of little items to find
16:27Consumables and more important items as well
16:31We're swapping here to a different weapon
16:35So here we have the Statesman's Longbow
16:41This is an awesome way to do damage at range
16:43And also fire at targets
16:45Across that are too far for you to hit
16:47This does consume the I-Core resource
16:50So you'll have to be replenishing your supplies of that
16:52As you move through the game
16:53This is actually in a side category of item
16:57Called Bequeathed Forme
16:59And there are different things that you can put in this slot
17:02Other than the bow
17:02But those are going to be kind of a surprise
17:05So we're not going to tell you what the other ones are
17:07But you'll see the bow used here
17:10We can use it to take out this target at range
17:12Like so
17:15And this is actually a very important map object
17:19That we've just destroyed
17:20And it will unlock large chunks of the map
17:22For you to see in the overworld
17:23And now we're going to skip ahead a little bit
17:24Into the next section of the ruins
17:26In the name of the great Ghula bloodline
17:44I do bestow upon you my blood
17:46As proof of our engagement
17:48Until the resurgence struck
17:51These horrors must have been the city's residence
17:53In other words
17:55All the people I couldn't save
17:58The gaps
18:05Are getting shorter
18:07As long as I have two legs to walk
18:10And two arms to fight
18:12I will give everything I have
18:14To keep the city's hopes alive
18:16Remember me?
18:18How lovely to see you again
18:20For all I lost that day
18:24For all you took from me
18:27Let justice be done
18:28Today you'll pay your
18:46Time
18:47Time
18:47For some
18:50It heals
18:53For others
18:57It wounds
19:00For our world
19:05It promises only oblivion
19:07Our hopes lost long ago
19:14But you
19:16But you
19:20You have the power to change
19:26All of this
19:28If time were a weapon to wield
19:36Could you undo the sins of ruin?
19:41In this time
19:45Or maybe the next
19:50You'll find
19:53How to save us all
19:54Too many
20:09To make the time
20:09There's way
20:10Four
20:10to be
20:11Got it
20:12Let's grant
20:13Not
20:14Let's
20:15Code Vein 2 is an upcoming anime-gothic action RPG developed by Bandai Namco Studios, serving
20:32as a full-scale next-generation sequel to the 2019 cult classic Code Vein.
20:38Building on the original's blend of vampiric dystopia, stylish combat, rich character customisation
20:43and emotionally charred storytelling, the sequel expands the universe of Revenants, undead
20:47warriors sustained by blood, into a more ambitious narrative that delves deeper into the metaphysics,
20:52cosmic origins and psychological consequences of life after death in a broken world.
20:58Where the first game explored personal trauma and identity within a collapsing society, Code
21:02Vein 2 escalates the stakes to a global and temporal crisis that challenges the very nature
21:07of reality. Set in the distant future, where the already tenuous coexistence between humanity
21:13and Revenants hangs by a thread, the story begins when a catastrophic celestial phenomenon
21:17known as the Lunar Rapacis tears through the sky. This event emits a resonant energy that
21:22agitates dormant blood veins across the planet, triggering a chain reaction of frenzied metamorphosis.
21:29Millions of Revenants, unable to control their thirst or contain their frenzy, mutate into
21:33grotesque, uncontrollable horrors, overwhelming the remaining bastions of civilisation. The surviving
21:39enclaves, enclaved behind fragile blood barriers and dwindling resources, are thrown into panic
21:44as the world threatens to collapse into unending corruption. Players assume the role of a newly
21:49awakened Revenant Hunter, an individual with anomalous resilience to the Lunar Rapacis'
21:54effects. This Hunter emerges from a sealed crypt beneath a ruined cityscape and is immediately
21:59confronted by Lu, an enigmatic girl who possesses the rare power to access and manipulate temporal
22:05echoes, lingering impressions of the past that have become unstable since the celestial disaster.
22:11Lu believes that the Hunter is uniquely tied to the origins of the Rapacis event, and that
22:15together they must traverse both the present-day wasteland and distorted, memory-fractured past
22:19timelines to unravel the truth. As the Hunter delves deeper, they uncover hints of secret,
22:25pre-ruin experiments, forgotten Revenant prototypes, and an ancient cosmic presence whose awakening
22:30may be linked to the fate of all life. The sequel enhances every core system of Code Vein. Blood
22:36Codes, the unique ability sets that function as class archetypes, return in a far more flexible
22:41and modular form. Instead of static roles, Blood Codes can now be combined, modified, and dynamically
22:47shifted mid-combat, enabling intricate hybrid playstyles such as tank caster mixes, agile bleed-focused
22:53duelists, or heavy weapon specialists with long-range vampiric abilities. Blood Draining techniques
22:59have also expanded dramatically. Draining enemy Icore can empower new blood arts, special
23:04attacks and supernatural abilities tied to both weapon type and chosen code. These can
23:09include spatial rifts, blood chains, illusion strikes, or gravity-distorting moves, emphasizing
23:15a combat rhythm built around precision, timing, and adaptive transformation. Enemy design has
23:20grown more unpredictable and aggressive. New horrors exhibit pack behavior, morphing phase transitions,
23:27counter-attacks, and corrupted abilities affected by the lunar rapaces, forcing players to read
23:31attack tells, exploit elemental weaknesses, and use the environment strategically. Boss encounters
23:37in particular have been re-envisioned as cinematic duels with dynamic arenas, shifting timelines,
23:42and story-driven transformations that visually reflect the character's internal suffering or
23:46corrupted memories. A defining feature of the original game, the partner system, returns in enhanced
23:53form. AI companions now respond intelligently to player tactics, enabling synergy skills,
23:59coordinated assault maneuvers, defensive rescues, and blood resonance bursts that unlock unique
24:04abilities depending on which partner you bond with. Companions grow as characters through narrative arcs,
24:10shifting dialogue, trust-building mechanics, and the discovery of personal echoes tied to their pasts.
24:16These relationships influence not only combat effectiveness, but also emotional beats in the story,
24:21offering branching interactions and alternate outcomes. Character creation has undergone a major
24:26evolution, offering deep customization of body proportions, facial structure, eyes, scars, tattoos,
24:33clothing physics, ornamental accessories, combat animations, idle stances, and even voice modulations.
24:40The series' iconic anime gothic aesthetic remains intact, but is significantly more expressive and
24:45grounded, allowing players to craft hunters who feel both fantastical and emotionally textured.
24:50Structurally, Code Vein 2 positions itself as a cinematic, deeply story-driven adventure
24:55that unfolds across interconnected regions tied to both present and past states of the world.
25:00The Lunar Rapaces' temporal distortions have fractured reality, creating areas where past decisions,
25:06ancient battles, and forgotten histories bleed into the modern landscape. Some dungeons shift layout
25:11depending on the timeline entered. Certain bosses may appear in altered forms when confronted in
25:16different eras. Locked paths, characters, and lore are accessible only by weaving between timelines.
25:22These mechanics feed into the game's themes of destiny and regret, presenting a layered world where
25:26each ruin hides not just physical danger, but the emotional remnants of choices long since buried.
25:31Now you can enjoy some screenshots without any interruption. Enjoy!
