Sudan’s conflict is escalating again as the Rapid Support Forces continue gaining territory across Darfur and Kordofan. UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi warns that the spreading violence could trigger another large-scale refugee exodus into neighboring countries. With millions already displaced and humanitarian funding sharply reduced, the UN says it is “barely responding” to urgent needs on the ground.

00:00If any other major city
00:29is hit by the war
00:34I'm not saying it will happen
00:38I simply don't know
00:39I don't have that military intelligence
00:41but if say a city like El Obed
00:44which is even closer to Khartoum
00:46another major city in that area
00:48if that were to be
00:49not necessarily taken
00:52but engulfed by the war
00:55I am pretty sure
00:56that we would see more exodus
00:58it's the big urban centers
01:00that produce
01:02most of the displaced
01:05We have not seen
01:22on the other hand
01:23a major increase
01:25of flight towards Chad
01:28which we had seen
01:29at other moments of the war
01:33especially in Darfur
01:34probably because the war
01:36is moving more towards Khartoum
01:37which is more inside Sudan
01:39and so people are becoming
01:41more displaced internally
01:42rather than refugees
01:43but the risk is always
01:45that an exodus outside
01:47could occur
01:48so we have to remain
01:50in addition to everything else
01:51very alert
01:52in neighboring countries
01:53in case this happens
01:55We are barely responding
02:07I have to say
02:09in the site
02:10I only visited
02:11this particular site
02:12which is not very big
02:13about 11,000-12,000 people
02:15but arrivals all the time
02:18we saw people
02:19just arrive literally
02:20what is very real
02:36is that people are fleeing
02:39this advance of the RSF
02:40I was in a place called
