00:11though her husband Mark Consuelos is trying to take a bit off of her plate.

00:15During the Thursday, December 4th episode of Live with Kelly and Mark,

00:19the longtime lovers and co-hosts kicked off the show by noting the Christmas countdown has begun.

00:25Guys, it is upon us. The season is here. And I'm way behind, Ripa admitted.

00:30We've already talked about it.

00:32Yeah, you're usually done by now, Consuelos acknowledged, as Ripa reiterated.

00:36I'm usually done by now. I have not begun.

00:39Seeing the panic in his wife's face, Consuelos reached over to touch Ripa's leg

00:43and declared he wants nothing from her this year.

00:46Well, I'll take one gift off your Christmas list, he said.

00:49Mine. No gifts. One less worry, Consuelos insisted.

00:53Take it off. It's okay. Take this year off.

00:56Warming up to the idea, Ripa used her sarcastic sense of humor to acknowledge how this would benefit her in more ways than one.

01:04This year, we will give each other the gift of freedom from not buying each other something.

01:08That's actually two fewer gifts.

01:10Because I don't have to get your gift, and I don't have to get the gift you give me, she teased.

01:14Consuelos proudly agreed, stating,

01:17That's right, and I mean it.

01:19Kelly Ripa assured Mark Consuelos he'd have an empty stocking.

01:22Ripa didn't argue, adding,

01:24Yeah, no, I know you mean it.

01:27Consuelos wasn't done setting his boundaries, however, warning Ripa,

01:31Don't sneak anything in there.

01:33I'm not going to sneak anything in there, Ripa promised.

01:36Nothing. You're going to have an empty stocking. Very empty.

01:39On Thursday, November 20th, the Riverdale actor shocked fans by claiming he wouldn't be buying his and Ripa's three kids,

01:47Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22.

01:51Anything for the holiday.

01:53Noting how the kids are old now, Consuelos announced,

01:55I'm not getting them anything.

01:57Stunned, Ripa questioned,

01:59You're not getting them anything?
