The High Court in Kuala Lumpur has ordered more than RM31mi in damages awarded to Pastor Raymond Koh to be placed in a trust managed by Amanah Raya Berhad, pending confirmation of his whereabouts.

00:10Datuk Gerald Gomez, lawyer for Ko's wife, Susanna Liu, said Judge Su Tianju issued the order after both parties agreed,
00:17including senior federal counsel Nurul Farhana Khalid, who represented the government and the Royal Malaysia Police.
00:24Gomez told reporters that Amanah Raya Berhad will hold the sum and any accrued interest as trustee until Ko's whereabouts are confirmed or revealed.
00:34The trustee was chosen for its low management fees and its guarantee to return the funds in the event of an appeal.
00:41The arrangement fulfills the court's November 5 directive for the damages to be deposited into a trust account pending confirmation of Ko's status.
00:50The award includes general damages of 10,000 ringgit per day from February 13, 2017,
00:58until Ko's whereabouts are known, 1 million ringgit in damages and 1 million ringgit in exemplary damages.
01:05On November 28, Liu had applied for her law firm, Messrs. Gerald Gomez & Associates,
01:11to be appointed as trustee and proposed PB Trustee Services Berhad and Amanah Raya Berhad as alternatives.
01:19She filed the suit against the police and government over her husband's disappearance and the handling of the investigation.
01:27Ko was reported to have been abducted by a group of masked men while driving in Kirlana Jaya, Pertaling Jaya, on February 13, 2017.
