00:00Stop scrolling! If you own a PS5, you need to see this. We're breaking down 15 single-player RPGs
00:06that are set to define your gaming experience in 2026. Don't miss out on knowing which epic
00:11adventures you'll be embarking on next year, because these titles are going to be game changers.
00:16Alright, let's talk about Nioh 3, because Team Ninja is back and they're not messing around.
00:20After Nioh 2, everyone thought the series was done. They literally said they were finished. Well,
00:25surprise, they lied in the best way possible. So what's different this time? Two words,
00:29dual combat styles. You've got Samurai and Ninja, and you can swap between them on the fly mid-combo.
00:34Samurai is what you know and love. Brutal, in-your-face martial arts goodness,
00:39with a new deflect mechanic that lets you block attacks at the last second. But Ninja? That's
00:43where things get wild. Quick dodges, aerial moves, ranged ninjutsu attacks, and you can literally
00:48leave clones behind after attacks. It's like playing a completely different game depending
00:52on when you switch. And here's the big one. They've ditched the traditional level structure.
00:56Nioh 3 features an open field design now. You're exploring freely, stumbling into yokai ambushes,
01:01discovering creepy villages with dark secrets, and tackling something called The Crucible,
01:06which sounds absolutely terrifying. The setting takes you back to the Sengoku period,
01:10and you're playing as a young warrior on a path to become Shogun. The demo already dropped earlier
01:15this year, and the feedback was overwhelming. Team Ninja is actively listening and fine-tuning
01:20everything. February 6th, 2026. Mark it down. This might be Team Ninja's most ambitious game yet.
01:27Okay, I need you to pay attention to Crimson Desert, because this game has been flying under
01:31the radar for way too long, and it absolutely should not be. Pearl Abyss, yeah, the Black Desert people,
01:37have been working on this since 2019, and it's evolved into something incredible. This isn't an MMO,
01:43let me repeat that. This is not an MMO, it's a full-fledged, single-player, open-world action RPG,
01:49and it looks absolutely stunning. You play as Cliff, leader of a mercenary group called the
01:53Graymanes. After a brutal ambush by a rival faction called the Black Bears, your crew gets scattered and
01:59murdered. Your mission? Reunite the survivors, rebuild your fallen clan, and get revenge. It's
02:04personal, it's emotional, and Pearl Abyss is promising rare emotional depth for an open-world game.
02:09The continent of Pywell is massive. Forests, tundras, scorching deserts, bustling cities,
02:14and you can explore it all on horseback or, yeah, dragons. The combat is flashy and combo-heavy with
02:20Major Witcher 3 meets Dragon's Dogma vibes. You're fighting humans, monsters, and absolutely enormous
02:26bosses, including a mechanical clockwork dragon that looks insane. Every time new footage drops,
02:31it looks more polished. The boss battles alone are worth your attention. This could genuinely be one of
02:36the biggest RPGs of 2026. March 19th. Put it on your calendar. Crimson Desert is coming.
02:42If you've ever wanted to play Dragon Quest VII but thought the original was just too long or slow to
02:47get started, Square Enix heard you. They're calling this one Reimagined, not Remastered. And that word
02:52choice matters. First thing you'll notice? The visuals. They've completely rebuilt the game with this
02:57gorgeous diorama art style. Everything looks like handcrafted miniatures brought to life. The
03:02characters are based on actual dolls they created in the real world, and then translated into 3D.
03:07It's charming, it's unique, and it perfectly captures Akira Toriyama's legendary designs. But here's
03:13what really matters for long-time fans. The story has been streamlined. The original game took forever
03:18to even get to your first battle, and the pacing could drag. They've tightened everything up while
03:22keeping the emotional core intact. You still play as a young fisherman's son who discovers that his
03:27peaceful island is the only land in existence, and you travel through time to restore lost
03:32civilization. Combat got an overhaul too. New vocational perks, smoother battle flow, auto battle
03:38options, and a new moonlighting system that lets you use two vocations at once. There's even a new
03:43storyline featuring Kiefer as an adult that wasn't in the original. Whether you're a returning fan or
03:48completely new to the series, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is built for you. February 5th,
03:532026. The adventure begins. Listen, when the Witcher 3 director leaves CD Projekt Red and
03:59starts his own studio, you pay attention. That's exactly what happened with Rebel Wolves and their
04:04first game, The Blood of Dawnwalker, might be the most ambitious RPG announcement in years.
04:09Here's the setup, 14th century Europe. The Black Death is ravaging the land. Vampires see their
04:14opportunity and emerge from the shadows to seize power. You play as Cohen, a young man who survives a
04:19failed vampire transformation. Now you're a Dawnwalker, human during the day, vampire at night.
04:24And here's where it gets interesting. You have 30 days to save your family. That's not just a story
04:29beat. It's the actual game structure. Time passes as you complete quests, and if you run out of days,
04:34the consequences are real. You can technically try to rush the main objective immediately, but you'll
04:39probably die horribly because you haven't built up Cohen's strength. During the day, you're talking to
04:43NPCs, gathering intel, solving problems peacefully. At night, you're stalking rooftops with vampire powers
04:49like Shadow Step, draining enemies, and avoiding detection. The same quest plays completely
04:53differently depending on when you tackle it. Rebel Wolves is calling this a narrative sandbox, and
04:58honestly, it sounds like nothing else out there. Unreal Engine 5, Bandai Namco Publishing,
05:032026 release. Keep your eyes on this one. Anime Dark Souls fans, Code Vein 2 is finally happening,
05:10and I could not be more excited. Seven years after the original, Bandai Namco is bringing back the
05:15stylish vampire action RPG with some major upgrades. The story picks up in a future where humans and
05:20Revenants coexist, but everything falls apart when this mysterious force called Luna Rapacis appears.
05:26It turns Revenants into mindless monsters called horrors, and humanity is on the brink of extinction.
05:31You play as a Revenant hunter teaming up with a mysterious girl named Lou who can literally
05:35manipulate time. Yeah, you're traveling to the past to rewrite fate and prevent the apocalypse. Combat has been
05:41expanded with two new weapon types, Rune Blades and Dual Swords, alongside returning favorites.
05:47The blood-draining attacks are back but now enhanced with new abilities. You've got Jails like the
05:51Reaper, which gives you a Scythe, and Forme powers that let you summon devastating weapons like a massive
05:56Executioner Greatsword. The partner system is deeper too. You can summon allies to fight
06:00independently or merge with them through assimilation for boosted stats. Character customization is as
06:05ridiculous as ever. Body types, hairstyles, accessories, makeup, the works. The first game
06:11was a sleeper hit that built a dedicated fanbase. Code Vein 2 looks like it's going bigger in every
06:16way. January 30th, 2026. Anime Souls fans, let's go. Trails fans, this is it. This is the one we've
06:24been building toward for over two decades. The Legend of Heroes, Trails Beyond the Horizon. Isn't just
06:30another entry, this is the beginning of the end. The Trails series is officially entering its final chapter,
06:35and everything is converging. For the first time, you're seeing paths from across the entire Zemurian
06:40continent collide. Van Arkride from the Daybreak games, Rian Schwartzer the Ashen Chevalier from
06:45Cold Steel, Father Kevin Graham, they're all being brought together because the prophesied end of the
06:50continent is approaching. And get this, humanity is also launching its first expedition into space.
06:55The scope here is insane. Gameplay has been evolved too. You've got new mechanics like shard
06:59commands and awakening to experiment with. But the real game changer is Z-O-C, a time-freezing
07:05mechanic that lets you pause the action and plan out your moves in both field and command battles.
07:09It's giving you unprecedented tactical control. There's also the Grimgarten dungeon where you can
07:14build your own custom party from allies across all of Calvert and beyond to stop Ouroboros'
07:19machinations. If you've been following the series from the Sky games, through Crossbell, Cold Steel,
07:24and Daybreak, this is your payoff. January 15th, 2026. The culmination of one of gaming's most ambitious
07:31RPG sagas. Okay, if you've been sleeping on Monster Hunter stories, now is the time to wake up. This
07:37isn't the main Monster Hunter series. This is the turn-based RPG spinoff where you become a rider
07:43instead of a hunter. And honestly, it's incredible. Twisted Reflection follows two kingdoms,
07:48Azuria and Vermeil, both facing extinction from something called the Crystal Encroachment that's
07:53spreading across the land. Monsters are dying. The environment is collapsing. And then someone finds a
07:58mysterious egg. Here's where it gets wild. A Rathalos hatches from that egg. A species thought
08:03to be completely extinct. But wait, there's more. A second Rathalos emerges from the same egg. Twin
08:08Rathalos. And they carry the same mark as the legendary Skyscale Rathalos that triggered a
08:13devastating civil war 200 years ago. You play as the heir to Azuria, the sole Rathalos rider in the
08:19kingdom and leader of the Rangers. Your job is to protect monsters, investigate the crystal threat,
08:24and somehow prevent these twin Rathalos from becoming harbingers of destruction, or war.
08:29The visuals have been massively upgraded. The story is darker and more mature than previous entries.
08:34And you're still bonding with monsters, raising them, and battling alongside them in that addictive
08:39turn-based combat. March 13th, 2026. Ride, befriend, and battle. Monster Hunter. Stories 3 is coming.
08:48After almost 20 years of silence, Capcom is finally bringing back Onimusha. And let me tell you,
08:53Way of the Sword looks absolutely phenomenal. You're playing as Miyamoto Musashi. Yes,
08:58that Musashi. The legendary swordsman. In a dark fantasy version of Edo-era Kyoto,
09:03the city has been corrupted by malevolent clouds called Malice, and demons known as Genma are
09:08everywhere. Musashi wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that lets him absorb the souls of
09:14his enemies to restore health and unleash devastating attacks. Now here's what Capcom wants you to know.
09:19This is not a Souls-like. They've been very clear about that. Director Satoru Nihei says they're
09:24focused on modernizing Onimusha's action horror routes while keeping the combat deliberate and
09:29skill-based. You need to observe enemy movements, time your strikes perfectly, and master the clash
09:34of blades. The ISIN system is back, uh, that satisfying instant-kill timing mechanic that rewards
09:40precision. You can also manipulate space using Oni powers, shattering reality to create distance or
09:45reveal hidden areas. It's running on Capcom's RE engine, features real historical locations like
09:51Kiyomizu Temple, and promises around 20 hours of gory, linear-focused action. They're calling this a
09:56reboot, and based on everything we've seen, Capcom is cooking. Onimusha, Way of the Sword, 2026.
10:03The samurai are back. If you've never played Tales of Berseria, you are about to get the perfect
10:08opportunity. And if you have played it, you already know this is one of the darkest and best stories the
10:14Tales series has ever told. You play as Velvet Crow, and she is not your typical JRPG protagonist.
10:20This woman is fueled by pure vengeance. After witnessing her brother's murder, she's consumed
10:25by rage and will literally slash through anyone who stands in her path. Her arm has been transformed
10:30into a demonic claw that devours the souls of her enemies. She's brutal, she's ruthless, and her
10:35journey is emotionally devastating. The combat system lets you chain together artists and combos while
10:40collecting souls from enemies to power up your attacks. It's fast, it's flashy, and incredibly
10:46satisfying once it clicks. For this remaster, Bandai Namco is adding some much-needed quality
10:51of life improvements. You've got destination markers now, so you're not wandering aimlessly.
10:55You can toggle off enemy encounters when you just want to explore. And the grade shop, usually locked
11:00until New Game Plus, is accessible from the start. They're also including a ton of DLC from the original
11:06release, including costumes and equipment. The price point is $39.99 for the standard edition,
11:13which is honestly a steal for one of the best JRPGs of its generation. Tales of Berseria Remastered,
11:18February 27th, 2026. A path forged by vengeance.
11:24Mortal Shell came out of nowhere in 2020 and surprised everyone. A small indie studio made a
11:29soulslike that actually felt unique and sold over a million copies. Now Cold Symmetry is back with a
11:35sequel that's bigger, faster, and angrier. The core concept returns. You play as the Harbinger,
11:41a being that can possess the corpses of fallen warriors scattered throughout the world. Each shell
11:46you inhabit has unique abilities and strengths. You awaken them, unlock their memories, and build your
11:51own combat style based on which warriors you choose to possess. But here's the big change. There's no
11:56stamina bar anymore. Combat is faster and more aggressive. You're encouraged to apply pressure,
12:01create openings, and unleash devastating finishing moves. They're also adding ranged weapons alongside
12:06melee, giving you way more tactical options. The world design is a compact open world,
12:11interconnected zones filled with secrets, shortcuts, and over 60 dungeons to conquer. You're exploring
12:16derelict temples, forbidden forests, icy graves, and citadels carved from bone. The heavy metal aesthetic
12:23is cranked up even further, with bands like Behemoth providing the soundtrack. Your mission? Reclaim
12:28stolen eggs from the Undermather that are being guarded by grotesque, dangerous creatures. It's
12:32weird, it's brutal, and it's exactly what fans wanted. A beta is planned for early 2026, with the
12:38full release following later that year. Mortal Shell 2 is coming to PS5. Xbox Series X slash S and PC,
12:44their flesh is your weapon. Okay, this one is going to be controversial, but we need to talk about it.
12:50Zero Parades. For Dead Spies is the next game from ZAUM, the studio that made Disco Elysium. And yes,
12:56I know what you're thinking. A lot of the original creative leads left the company under messy
13:00circumstances. But regardless of how you feel about the drama, this game looks genuinely
13:05fascinating. You play as Herschel Wilk, codename Cascade, a brilliant but burnt out spy who led her
13:10team into disaster five years ago. She's been haunted by that failure ever since, and now she's been
13:15recalled for a mysterious assignment that might just be her shot at redemption, or it could blow up in her
13:20face. Again, the vibe is paranoia, surrealism, and psychological espionage. Trust no one. Betrayal
13:26lurks around every corner. And here's the thing, failure is literally baked into the gameplay.
13:31They call it failing forward. The story continues no matter what happens, but every misstep opens doors
13:36that success would have missed entirely. Combat isn't really the focus here. Instead, you've got
13:41dramatic encounters. High intensity moments where time freezes and you make rapid fire decisions that
13:46could save your life or end it. There's also a conditioning system that lets you shape Herschel's
13:50identity and pressure mechanics that simulate the psychological toll of being a spy. If you loved
13:56Disco Elysium's narrative depth, Zero Parades is built on the same foundation. PS5 and PC 2026.
14:03Get ready to lose yourself. For all my Fate fans out there, this one has been a long time coming. Fate
14:09Slash Extra Record is a full ground-up remake of the original 2010 PSP game, and it looks absolutely
14:15gorgeous. The setup takes you to S-E-R-A-P-H, a virtual world constructed on the Moon where 128
14:23hackers compete in the Moon Holy Grail War. You pick your servant, Nero the Saber, Tamamo the Caster,
14:29or Amiya the Archer, and fight your way through a tournament-style deathmatch for a wish-granting device.
14:35Now, the original game had this rock-paper-scissors combat system that was divisive. Type Moon Studio
14:40BB has completely overhauled it. Combat is now a strategic deck building system where you select
14:45actions from a rotating command list, each costing AP. It's faster, more tactical, and way more
14:51engaging. The visuals have been rebuilt from scratch with Arco Wada returning to handle character designs.
14:56And here's a massive change. Every single character is now fully voiced. Even the background NPC,
15:00director Kazuya Nino actually admitted he completely misjudged how long that would take,
15:05which is why the game got pushed to Spring, 2026. The story has also been expanded with new scenes
15:10and enhanced dialogue while staying faithful to the original. If you missed Fate slash Extra back in the
15:15day or just want to experience it properly, this is your chance. Fate Extra Record, Spring 2026,
15:22The Moon Holy Grail War begins again. Housemarque made Returnal, and that game absolutely blew people's
15:29minds. Now they're back with Saros, and honestly, it looks like Returnal 2 in everything but the name.
15:34And I am completely here for it. You play as Arjun Devraj, voiced and modeled after Rahul Kohli from
15:39Midnight Mass. A Sultari enforcer trapped on the planet Carcosa beneath an ominous eclipse. Every time the
15:45sun dies, madness reigns, and the cycle begins again. Classic Housemarque vibes. But here's the key
15:50difference from Returnal. Saros is a roguelite, not a roguelike. That means permanent progression.
15:55Every death makes you stronger. You can permanently upgrade your loadout, your combat suit, and your
16:00abilities between runs. No more losing everything when you die. Combat is fast, frantic yee, and
16:05gorgeous. You've got a shield that absorbs enemy projectiles and charges up your weapon for
16:10explosive counterattacks. There's a new second chance mechanic that revives you after your first
16:14death in each run, giving you another shot with upgraded gear. Housemarque says this game has a
16:19budget comparable to Alan Wake 2. They've brought in composer Sam Slater from Chernobyl and Joker. They're
16:24running Unreal Engine 5 at 60 fps with full DualSense support and PS5 Pro enhancements. March 20th,
16:322026. PS5 exclusive. If Returnal was one of your favorite games this generation, Saros is about to
16:38become your new obsession. It's been almost 25 years since the original gothic changed action RPGs forever.
16:44Now, Alchemia Interactive and THQ Nordic are bringing it back with a full remake that honors everything that
16:50made the original special while modernizing it for today's players. You're an unnamed prisoner thrown
16:56into the Valley of Mines, a brutal colony sealed off by a magical barrier gone wrong. The king needs
17:01magical ore, the prisoners have taken over, and three rival factions control the mine. You have to
17:06navigate this lawless world, pick your alliances, and somehow find a way out. The remake keeps what made
17:12gothic iconic. The sense of a living, breathing world where NPCs have schedules and relationships,
17:17where your choices actually matter, and where combat requires skill and timing. But everything
17:21has been rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. They've modernized the controls and UI to make
17:26it more accessible without dumbing it down. The AI system is completely new. They're using something
17:30they call motion magic, where 20-30 minute motion capture recordings are broken into sequences so
17:36characters move realistically. Original composer Kai Rosencrantz is reinterpreting his classic
17:40soundtrack with new additions. A demo called Nyrus Prologue is available right now on PS5, Xbox, and PC if
17:47you want a taste. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Gothic 1 Remake, early 2026, Return to the Colony.
17:54Saving the most ambitious for last. Exodus is coming from Archetype Entertainment, a studio founded
18:00by former Bioware veterans including James Olin, who led design on Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old
18:06Republic, and Mass Effect. These are people who know how to make legendary RPGs. The setting is 40,000
18:11years in the future. Humanity fled a dying Earth and found refuge in the Centauri Cluster. But we're not
18:17the top of the food chain anymore. Over thousands of years, some humans evolved into something called
18:22Lat, Celestial, transhumans with godlike power who now threaten our very existence. You play as Juna Zlan,
18:29a traveler who journeys between worlds at near light speed to recover ancient celestial technology
18:35that could save humanity. And here's where it gets wild. Time dilation is a core mechanic. When you
18:40travel at those speeds, years or even decades pass back home. The people you love age. Civilizations
18:45change. Your choices have consequences that ripple across generations. Matthew McConaughey is involved.
18:50There's a full sci-fi novel by Peter F. Hamilton expanding the universe. And the gameplay trailer shows a
18:56mix of exploration, stealth, and combat that gives serious Mass Effect vibes with armored space bears.
19:03Hasbro's CEO personally confirmed a 2026 release window. This is their flagship game. Exodus is
19:09coming for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X slash S, and PC. Become the Traveler. Shape the fate of generations.
19:17Alright, so there you have it. 15 absolutely stacked single player RPGs heading to PS5 in 2026. And honestly,
19:25just looking at this list makes me exhausted in the best way possible. Like where am I even supposed
19:29to find the time for all of this? We've got Team Ninja going all out with Nioh 3, Capcom reviving
19:34Onimusha after 20 years, Housemarque doing what Housemarque does best, and former Bioware devs trying
19:40to recapture that Mass Effect magic with Exodus. Plus remakes, remasters, and brand new IPs that could
19:47become the next big thing. 2026 is shaping up to be an absolutely insane year for RPG fans. Like,
19:54genuinely ridiculous. Now I want to hear from you. Which game on this list are you most hyped for?
19:58Drop it in the comments. And if I missed something you think deserves to be here,
20:02let me know that too. I'm always down to discover something new. If you enjoyed this video,
20:06smash that like button. It genuinely helps more than you know. And if you're not subscribed yet,
20:11what are you waiting for? We cover all the biggest RPG news, deep dives, and lists like this one,
20:16all the time. Alright, that's it from me. Thanks for watching, and I'll catch you in the next one.
