00:00Don't be that gamer who misses out on the next generation of PS5 RPG greatness.
00:04While everyone else is still catching up, you could be ahead of the curve,
00:07knowing the 12 must-play titles launching in early 2026.
00:12Get an exclusive look at the adventures that will dominate your PS5 next year, before anyone else.
00:18Okay, if you've been sleeping on the Trails series, first of all, what are you doing?
00:22But second of all, this might actually be the perfect time to start paying attention.
00:25Trails Beyond the Horizon drops January 15th,
00:28and Nihon Falcom is doing something absolutely wild here.
00:31They're taking this series to space.
00:34Yeah, you heard that right.
00:35Space, my-di-da-my-ee-di-da-ay.
00:37After decades of building one of the most intricate, interconnected narratives in gaming history,
00:42they're literally expanding the universe.
00:44And look, I know what some of you are thinking.
00:46Great, another JRPG with 100 hours of dialogue.
00:49But here's the thing that is the appeal.
00:51The Trails games don't just tell stories.
00:54They build entire worlds with characters you'll genuinely care about.
00:57Political intrigue, personal drama, friendships that span multiple games.
01:00It's like watching the best anime you've never seen.
01:03Except you're playing it.
01:04The turn-based combat is tight, the writing is phenomenal, and NIS America is bringing it west.
01:09If you're a fan of story-rich RPGs where your choices and relationships actually matter,
01:13this one should absolutely be on your radar.
01:16January 15th.
01:17Mark it down.
01:17All right, Soulslike fans, gather around because Bandai Namco heard you loud and clear.
01:23Code Vein 2 is coming January 30th, and they've cranked everything up to 11.
01:27Now, the first game was already this gorgeous anime-styled dark fantasy romp with vampiric
01:32warriors called Revenants.
01:34But the sequel?
01:35They're adding time travel.
01:36You're hopping between two completely different eras, which means double the environments,
01:40double the lore, and honestly, probably double the ways I'm going to die.
01:44But here's what's got me excited.
01:45The combat system has been completely overhauled.
01:47We're talking faster, more fluid, combo-heavy action that rewards aggressive play.
01:52And the build customization?
01:53Still deep as ever.
01:54You want to be a glass cannon that melts bosses?
01:56Go for it.
01:57Want to tank hits while your AI companion does the heavy lifting?
02:00Totally viable.
02:01The gothic post-apocalyptic aesthetic is still there.
02:03The character creator is still ridiculous in the best way.
02:06And if you loved the original's blend of challenging gameplay with actual narrative stakes,
02:11Code Vein 2 looks like it's ready to deliver.
02:13Late January, people.
02:14Prepare to die beautifully.
02:17Now, this one flew under a lot of people's radars.
02:20But Norse, Oath of Blood, deserves way more attention than it's getting.
02:24Coming February 3rd from Arctic Hazard and Tripwire Presents, this is a Viking-era tactical
02:29RPG that follows a warrior named Gunner on a revenge quest.
02:33And yes, I know, Vikings and revenge.
02:36Groundbreaking, right?
02:37But hold on, because the execution here looks genuinely special.
02:40We're talking grid-based tactical combat with motion-captured animations, which gives
02:45everything this weighty, visceral feel you don't usually get in turn-based games.
02:49Between battles, you're building up your settlement, recruiting allies to your cause,
02:53and making decisions that actually affect your journey.
02:55It's giving me early Fire Emblem vibes mixed with something like Banner Saga, but with
03:00its own distinct identity.
03:02The Nordic mythology is on full display, the strategic depth looks substantial, and honestly,
03:07we don't get enough quality tactical RPGs anymore.
03:10If you're tired of the same old action RPG formula and want something that actually makes
03:14you think, Norse might be exactly what you're looking for.
03:17February 3rd.
03:18Keep it on your list.
03:20Okay, I need everyone to understand something.
03:22Dragon Quest VII is one of the longest JRPGs ever made.
03:26Like, genuinely, it's massive.
03:28And Square Enix looked at that and said, let's remake it from the ground up.
03:31Dragon Quest VII, Reimagined hits February 5th, and holy cow, have you seen the art style?
03:36They've gone with this diorama-inspired 3D look that makes every scene look like a handcrafted
03:42miniature world.
03:43And it's absolutely gorgeous.
03:44But it's not just a visual upgrade.
03:46They've modernized the job system, which was already one of the most satisfying progression
03:50systems in JRPG history.
03:52They've streamlined the exploration so you're not wandering around confused for hours.
03:56And here's the really exciting part.
03:57There's a brand new episode that reunites you with adult Kepha.
04:01If you know, you know.
04:02If you don't, you're about to find out why fans have been waiting decades for this.
04:06Dragon Quest has always been comfort food gaming.
04:09Charming, heartfelt, and endlessly enjoyable.
04:11And this reimagining looks like the definitive way to experience one of the series' most ambitious
04:16entries.
04:17February 5th.
04:18Circle it.
04:20Listen, if you've never played the original Deus Ex from 2000, you genuinely don't understand
04:25how ahead of its time this game was.
04:27And now Aspyr is bringing it back on February 5th with a full remaster.
04:32And I am beyond ready.
04:33This is the immersive sim that defined what player choice could be in gaming.
04:38Every mission, every objective, you decide how to approach it.
04:42Sneak through the vents like a ghost.
04:44Hack every terminal.
04:45And turn the security systems against your enemies.
04:48Go in guns blazing if that's your style.
04:50Or, and this is the wild part, just talk your way through situations.
04:53The game actually accounts for it.
04:55The conspiracy-laden cyberpunk storyline still holds up incredibly well.
04:59Asking questions about technology, government control, and human augmentation that feel
05:03more relevant now than ever.
05:05Embracer Group is publishing.
05:06And while the visuals are getting a much-needed modern coat of paint, they're preserving
05:10everything that made the original legendary.
05:12This is gaming history, remastered for a new generation.
05:16If you missed it the first time, February 5th is your chance to experience one of the
05:20most important RPGs ever made.
05:23Team Ninja said,
05:24You thought we were done?
05:25And dropped Nioh 3 on us for February 6th, and as a PS5 console exclusive, no less.
05:30Now look, the Nioh games have always been the thinking person's souls-like.
05:34The combat isn't just hard, it's deep.
05:36Stances, Kai pulses, weapon switching.
05:39There's a rhythm to mastering these games that feels incredible once it clicks.
05:43And Nioh 3 is pushing that even further with dual samurai and ninja combat styles that you
05:48can swap between mid-fight.
05:50Let that sink in.
05:51You're fighting a yokai, things get dicey, and you just seamlessly shift from disciplined
05:55katana strikes to shadow clone ninja madness.
05:58The protagonist this time is Tokugawa Takecho, and we're diving back into feudal Japan with
06:04expanded open zones that give you more room to explore between the brutal encounters.
06:08The yokai designs have always been nightmare fuel in the best way, and from what we've
06:12seen, Nioh 3 isn't holding back.
06:14If you bounced off the first two because they felt too punishing, I get it.
06:18But if you stuck with them and experienced that incredible feeling of finally conquering
06:21a boss that destroyed you 50 times, February 6th can't come soon enough.
06:26Vice X
06:27Proud Nordics is getting its definitive edition on February 20th, and if you haven't been
06:31paying attention to the Y series, this is genuinely a perfect entry point.
06:35Nihon Falcom took the fast-paced action JRPG formula they've perfected and threw Vikings
06:41into the mix.
06:41You've got Adel, the legendary red-haired adventurer who's basically been doing this for decades,
06:46teaming up with a fierce warrior named Caria for this duo-based combat system that feels
06:51incredibly satisfying.
06:52But here's what makes this definitive edition special.
06:54They're adding a brand new Muspelheim dungeon, which for the mythology nerds out
06:58there, yes, that's the Realm of Fire.
07:01There's also a whole new Oland Island storyline with fresh characters that wasn't in the original
07:05release.
07:06And performance-wise?
07:07We're talking 4K at 120 frames per second on PS5.
07:11The wise games have always been these hidden gems that action RPG fans sleep on.
07:15And that's honestly criminal, because the combat is butter-smooth and the adventures
07:19are consistently excellent.
07:21NIS America is localizing, the content is expanded, and it runs like a dream.
07:26February 20th.
07:27Do yourself a favor.
07:29Okay, real talk.
07:30Tales of Berseria might be the best Tales game ever made, and I will die on that hill.
07:35February 27th.
07:36Bandai Namco is giving it the remaster treatment, and it's about time.
07:40Here's why Berseria hits different.
07:41Most JRPGs give you a bright-eyed hero saving the world because it's the right thing to
07:45do.
07:46Berseria gives you Velvet Crow, a woman so consumed by rage and grief that she literally
07:50breaks out of prison by eating demons with her cursed arm.
07:53She's not saving the world, she's burning it down to get revenge.
07:56The entire party is made up of anti-heroes, outcasts, and morally gray characters who feel
08:01genuinely complex.
08:03The combat system lets you chain hundreds of hits together once you master it, and the story
08:07goes places that'll genuinely surprise you.
08:09Now, the remaster is adding quality-of-life improvements, like destination markers so
08:14you're not wandering aimlessly, and toggleable encounters for when you just want to experience
08:18the story.
08:19If you missed this one on PS4, or just want to revisit it running better than ever, February
08:2327th.
08:24Trust me on this one.
08:26March 13th.
08:27Capcom is dropping Monster Hunter Stories 3.
08:29Twisted Reflection, and this series continues to be criminally underrated.
08:33Yes, it's turn-based.
08:34Yes, you're collecting monsters instead of just hunting them.
08:37And yes, it's absolutely fantastic.
08:39This time we're set 200 years after some devastating war.
08:42And the hook here is incredible.
08:44Twin Rathalos hatching from a single egg.
08:46Anyone who knows Monster Hunter knows that's not supposed to happen, and the story is built
08:50around unraveling that mystery.
08:52The monstie bonding system is deeper than ever, so you're not just catching creatures,
08:56you're genuinely forming connections with them.
08:58The strategic combat requires you to actually learn monster patterns and predict their moves,
09:02which scratches that same itch the mainline games do, just in a completely different
09:06way.
09:07Capcom has been killing it lately, and Stories 3 looks like they're pouring real love into
09:11this spin-off series.
09:12If you want something that captures the Monster Hunter magic but offers a different gameplay
09:16experience entirely, this is it.
09:18March 13th.
09:19Don't let this one fly under your radar.
09:22Alright, Crimson Desert.
09:23March 19th.
09:24Pearl Abyss.
09:25Let's talk about this because the scope here is genuinely insane.
09:28We're looking at a 400 square kilometer handcrafted open world.
09:31That's bigger than The Witcher 3.
09:33And unlike a lot of massive open worlds that feel empty, Pearl Abyss is promising meaningful
09:38content throughout, which given their track record with Black Desert Online's world design,
09:42I actually believe.
09:44You're playing as Cliff, a mercenary with a genuinely compelling story that's driving
09:48this whole experience.
09:49And the combat?
09:50They've clearly been studying what makes action RPGs feel great because there's serious
09:54God of War energy here.
09:55Weighty, visceral, satisfying.
09:57You're riding dragons, assaulting fortresses, and the set-piece moments look absolutely wild.
10:02Now, I know some people are skeptical because Pearl Abyss is known for MMOs, but they've
10:07been very clear that this is a story-driven single-player experience first.
10:10If they deliver on even half of what they've shown, Crimson Desert could be one of the biggest
10:14RPG surprises of 2026.
10:17March 19th.
10:18This one has serious potential.
10:20March 20th.
10:21Housemarque is back, and after what they did with Returnal, I am fully on board for whatever
10:26they're cooking.
10:26Saros is a PS5-exclusive sci-fi roguelite action RPG, and honestly, that description
10:32alone should have your attention.
10:34These are the developers who made one of the most intense atmospheric experiences on the
10:38console, and now they're going deeper into RPG territory.
10:41You're on Carcosa, this lost colony world, and everything is happening during an ominous
10:46eclipse that's casting the whole place in this unsettling darkness.
10:49The atmosphere looks thick enough to cut with a knife.
10:52Now, Returnal already had that addictive loop of dying, learning, and coming back stronger.
10:57But Saros is leaning harder into RPG progression systems, while keeping that signature Housemarque
11:02gameplay feel.
11:03We're talking fast, fluid action with actual build crafting and character development.
11:07Sony clearly believes in this one enough to make it exclusive, and given Housemarque's
11:12pedigree, that confidence feels earned.
11:13If you loved the tension and mystery of Returnal, but wished it had more RPG depth, Saros looks
11:18like it was made specifically for you.
11:20March 20th.
11:21PlayStation 5.
11:22This is the exclusive worth watching.
11:24Okay, last one, and I saved something special.
11:28Wandering Sword Complete Edition drops.
11:30May 28th, and if you haven't heard of this game, you're about to thank me.
11:33This is a Wuxia tactical RPG set in ancient China with some of the most gorgeous 3D pixel
11:39art you've ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating.
11:41Every frame of this game looks like a painting.
11:43The Swordman Studio originally released this on PC, where it currently sits at a 94% positive
11:48rating on Steam, which is incredibly hard to achieve.
11:51Now Clouded Leopard Entertainment is bringing the complete package to PS5 with all the DLC
11:55included.
11:57Brand new voice acting, and dual battle modes, so you can play it turn-based or real-time
12:01depending on your preference.
12:02But here's the real hook.
12:0320 distinct endings.
12:0420.
12:05The choices you make, the martial arts schools you align with, the relationships you build,
12:09they all matter.
12:10The Wuxia genre is all about honor, betrayal, and mastering incredible fighting techniques,
12:16and wandering sword nails that fantasy perfectly.
12:18If you're tired of the same medieval European settings and want something that feels genuinely
12:23fresh, this is it.
12:24May 28th.
12:25Complete edition.
12:26Don't sleep on this one.
12:27So there you have it.
12:2812 RPGs dropping in early 2026 that deserve a spot on your radar.
12:32And honestly, this might be one of the strongest lineups we've seen in a while.
12:36Whether you're into deep tactical combat, soul-crushing difficulty, or just want to get lost in
12:41a massive open world for 100 hours, there's something here for everyone.
12:45Now I gotta ask, which one are you most excited for?
12:48Because personally, I've got my eye on a few of these, but I want to hear what you're
12:51hyped about.
12:52Drop your most anticipated pick in the comments, and if I missed anything you think deserves
12:56attention, let me know that too.
12:58If this video helped you discover something new or got you excited for what's coming,
13:02smash that like button.
13:03It genuinely helps the channel more than you know.
13:05And if you're not subscribed yet, what are you waiting for?
13:08We cover stuff like this all the time, and you don't want to miss out when these games
13:11actually drop and we go deeper on them.
13:13Alright, that's all I've got for today, thanks for watching, take care of yourselves, and
13:17I'll catch you in the next one.
