00:04Ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes nominations being announced on Monday, December 8th,
00:08we're giving you a special preview.
00:12Marlon Wayans and Matlock star Sky P. Marshall are set to announce this year's nominees
00:16bright and early Monday morning at 8.15 a.m. Eastern, 5.15 a.m. Pacific.
00:21All 28 categories will be unveiled on CBSNews.com, with 11 categories revealed on CBS Mornings.
00:27You can also stream the announcement live on the CBS News YouTube channel and TikTok account.
00:32For the first time ever, the Golden Globes will reveal the nominees for the new Best Podcast Award.
00:37Nominees for the category will be chosen from a list of the 25 most listened-to podcasts.
00:43That list includes Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Caller Daddy, Crime Junkie,
00:48Good Hang with Amy Poehler, Pod Save America, The Bill Simmons Podcast,
00:52The Joe Rogan Experience, and The Mel Robbins Podcast, just to name a few.
00:55The president of the Golden Globes organization said of the new honor,
00:59As the world of entertainment continues to evolve, we are excited to recognize new forms of storytelling.
01:05Podcasts have emerged as a profound medium for sharing narratives and building communities
01:09across global borders and generations.
01:12By celebrating achievements in both audio and visual podcasts,
01:15we aim to honor our heritage categories while making room for new voices and formats to be heard.
01:20The 83rd annual Golden Globes will air on January 11, 2026, live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
01:26Nikki Glaser is returning to host the awards ceremony for the second year in a row.
01:31She opened up about how she's preparing for the show at the Hollywood Reporter's recent Women in Entertainment Gala.
01:35Watching all the movies and just trying to approach things differently than I did last year.
01:40It's like, felt like I nailed it last year and I want to bring that same energy to it, but like, what can we do differently?
01:46Oh, they kind of know me a little bit more this year, so I'll have a little bit more leeway to get away with some stuff than I didn't last year.
01:52Because I felt like last year I had to really introduce myself to everyone and get them comfortable and like,
01:56I'm not going to hurt you and this year I can hurt them.
01:59No, I'm not going to hurt them, but I'm way calmer going into it this year because it's just easier to do anything that you've done before.
