00:00How popular is Donald Trump in Europe?
00:08It's no secret that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and US President Donald Trump
00:14enjoy a pretty close relationship.
00:16That might explain why Italy is one of the Western European countries
00:20with the most favourable view of the American leader,
00:23though favourable, is relative as only 28% of Italians say they hold a positive opinion.
00:31The UK comes next with 22%, saying Trump favourably up 4 points since October.
00:38Support is slightly lower in France and Spain,
00:42while one of the European countries where Trump is least liked is Denmark,
00:47perhaps not helped by the President's territorial ambitions on Greenland.
00:51Another poll reveals that Europe is divided between those who consider Trump an enemy
00:57and those with milder views, judging him to be neither a friend nor an enemy.
01:03On the other hand, Poland stands out as the country with the highest percentage of people
01:08perceiving Trump as a friend.
01:11One thing that unites Europe is a general disappointment
01:14with how the EU is handling relations with Washington.
01:18In particular, 52% said they felt humiliated after the summer EU-US agreement
01:25that slapped 15% tariffs on most EU exports.
