Resort, travel upgrades trigger landslide of visitors to China's ski destinations

00:00Ski season has officially arrived in northeast China's Jilin Province, where upgraded medical,
00:11travel, and accommodation services are drawing bigger crowds than ever.
00:16One of the region's most popular destinations, the Lake Songhua Resort, is now using a 5G-based
00:22helicopter dispatch system that gets medical service to the resort in just 30 minutes.
00:27The city's also improved its transportation options for visitors, with shuttle buses connecting
00:33the International Airport to two of the major ski resorts.
00:37And then there are the ride-hailing upgrades.
00:39180 new energy vehicles are now circulating Jilin City that are equipped with specialized
00:45racks to hold both skis and snowboards, a major plus for tourists.
00:51The ski rack turned out to be really practical.
00:54My 160-centimeter skis fit perfectly.
00:58Dozens of B&B hotels, meanwhile, have undergone upgrades, with some adding amenities like
01:03EV charging stations.
01:05And restaurants, while continuing to offer regional favorites like Iron Pot Stew, have also diversified
01:11their menus to cater to diverse tastes.
01:14To accommodate visitors from different parts of the country, our kitchen has added classic
01:21Sichuan dishes and other distinctive Northeastern stir-fries.
01:25Last year, we served between 20,000 to 30,000 customers.
01:30This year, trends look even better.
01:32We're expecting around 30,000 to 40,000 guests.
01:35Jilin Province, home to more than 70 ski resorts, is expected to distribute $14 million U.S. dollars
01:43in vouchers this season, applicable at all licensed ski areas.
