French President Emmanuel Macron begins fourth state visit to China

00:00French President Macron touched down at the Beijing Capital International Airport on Wednesday
00:09for his fourth state visit to China. This is a reciprocal visit following Chinese President
00:14Xi Jinping's historical visit to France in 2024. During the visit, President Xi will hold talks
00:20with President Macron to guide the development of the bilateral relationship under new circumstances
00:25and exchange views on major international and regional issues. Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji,
00:31Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, will also meet with President
00:36Macron. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ning Jian, the state visit is
00:42suspected to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and France, promote a
00:48steady development of China-EU relations, and contribute to multilateralism as well as a peaceful,
00:54stable, and prosperous world. President Macron will also visit Chengdu during his trip.
