00:05The iconic actor has been treating his Twitter followers to Captain James T. Kirk-style
00:09Captain's Log updates while he self-isolates. The Captain's Log was a plot device usually
00:14done for story exposition on the famed sci-fi TV show and subsequent films.
00:22Shatner wrote to his more than 2.5 million Twitter followers on Wednesday,
00:25Captain's Log, Stardate 1 of Self-Imposed Isolation. After having arrived at Planet Home,
00:31I was warmly greeted by Emissary's Espresso and Macchiato. I look forward to my planned
00:36respite for my normal duties. Kirk out. Espresso and Macchiato are Shatner's dogs.
00:40The well-known animal lover previously shared this photo with one of his pets on Instagram.
00:44And on Thursday, he tweeted, Captain's Log, Stardate 2 of Self-Imposed Isolation.
00:49Emissary's Macchiato and Espresso have been exploring a new territory called Underbed,
00:54bestowing upon me tributes of missing socks and other items in an attempt to get my attention
00:58and adoration. Shatner is among the numerous stars using social media to entertain their
01:03audiences during this chaotic time. Others include singer John Legend, who has live-streamed
01:07in-home performances, and actor Josh Gad, who has been live-reading children's books.
