Today during Below the Belt, Bobby discussed Dak Prescott’s leadership on and off the field and his strong connection with first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer. He broke down how in sync the duo is and how much it elevates both Dak and the offense. They also highlighted praise from rival executives about the Prescott/Schotty partnership, the importance of consistent coaching for quarterbacks, and why these relationships can make or break a player’s development.

00:00and dak was getting a lot of props specifically from the analytics community for how he played
00:19against kansas city um and and the way that he bounced back after the interception um i had
00:24heard the stat yesterday i didn't realize it was even the story i think he was it was like he was
00:2810 for 12 on third downs after that interception and like like completions and one of those was a
00:35drop from pickens on third down so i mean he was basically perfect on third down but they were
00:40trying to get quotes about dak prescott and reached out to different anonymous front office executives
00:45and it naturally kind of turned because we've talked about this shoddy and dak are going to be
00:50kind of tied together because dak pushed for him to have the job dak's success and being able to
00:57maintain his career here at the back end of it is largely going to be how i guess shoddy would be
01:02determined like like by the front office of the kind of job that he's doing but even rival executives
01:06are talking about that so they were talking about dak and one of them said i've always liked the guy
01:11when he's on he's legit shottenheimer's offense suits his game really well that's a good duo that
01:18is clicking right now another executive added prescott is playing really well for sure it's a
01:24really good offensive unit overall shottenheimer has done a great job designing it and then there
01:30was another quote in here too talking about just that they're so synced up as coach and play caller
01:35and the value of that where you can kind of be the mental processor the guy who steps up to the line
01:41of scrimmage and all right i got the call and i know what they're looking for but i also have the
01:45autonomy not to just like aaron rogers almost arrogantly like lafleur you're dumb i'm gonna overrule
01:52what you called here for the packers but like to be able to say all right i got your call but i know
01:56when to check out of it because i know i'm your eyes for what i know you'd see out here and what
02:00you want to do and that to me has been the biggest the biggest aspect that like when you can look over
02:06dax career recently and the leaps that he's made we can almost always tie it back to him drilling down
02:14and having a really strong personal relationship with a coach kitten and him were really close and he took
02:20a big lead uh nussmeyer and him got really close he took another lead shoddy and him got close he
02:25started to push the game forward i think the that that's why they always talk about man can't have
02:30three coordinators in three years that's why people wonder about caleb williams development and how
02:34much you've potentially stunted him because that coach quarterback relationship is so clearly
02:38critical for like how are you going to develop and these guys who have hands-on work with the
02:42quarterback how much are they going to move them forward and schottenheimer's done a good job of helping
02:46that it's
02:46it's
