Health workers in Paraguay protested in front of the presidential palace demanding dignity and urgent improvements in working conditions in the public sector. The protest, led by the National Medical Union, called on the government of Santiago Peña to immediately implement decent labor conditions for the public health sector. Professionals stressed that the root of the problem goes beyond low investment and is worsened by poor public management under the current administration. The union announced that demonstrations will continue to defend labor rights and ensure a functional healthcare system that benefits all Paraguayan citizens.
