00:00Every football season brings highs, yes! Rock and roll! And lows. Every week though, there's no excuse for that. Oh no. It's time to buy or sell. And tell them to sell! It's Texans stock up, stock down, on the drive with Sterner and Hughley. I'm gonna pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers in this racket.
00:24Yes sir, lately we've been having some wet Wednesdays. Not today though. That's right. By the way, Thirsty Thursday will be on a Thursday. That is tomorrow at Buffalo Wild Wings in spring. We'll get you that address later on.
00:40Because we've got stocks to get to. We do it every Wednesday on the drive. Do our best Wolf of Wall Street impression when we talk to these Texans.
00:47And it is week 14 for the Houston Texans. They're heading to Arrowhead to take on the Chiefs. That's what we're discussing with stocks today.
00:55We're on the show Hughley. As I'm known to do, I want to get the negatives out of the way. Stock down for you, Ron, as the Texans head up to Kansas City.
01:03I'm gonna go stock down. I'm gonna go Jalen Knoll. Jalen Knoll, I don't know what's happened. There was a moment where we thought he may take off and be a part of this team more.
01:16I don't know if he's practicing poorly. I don't think that's the case. But the last three games, my man got two catches for 16 yards. Last three games. Two for 16.
01:29He's not even getting to Applebee's yet. I forgot about that analogy. And he's got one carry for five yards.
01:38Applebee's has rats! He seems to be the definition of stock down. It seems like his, whether it's him, whether it's him or just the decision that they're going in a different direction.
01:51He is just, he went from arguably being the big play guy for the offense in the middle part of the year there to just non-existent and not getting a lot of snaps, not playing.
02:05He is, he has become the punt returner is what he has become.
02:09So, uh, Jalen Knoll, who I, I thought at one point, you know, Higgins, he was, he was the one, the rookie receivers that was showing a lot of promise.
02:20And now he's just not a major part of this offense. I'll go Jalen Knoll.
02:24That's a good one. That's a good one. Um, the, the return game is off, uh, awfully nice, but, but yeah, that's, that's a good one.
02:30It's just like, you just can't put your finger on why. You know what I mean? Well, you'd think he'd be a bigger part of this offense.
02:35I don't even blame it on him. I just, yeah, just, it just isn't agreed. I mean, every time he gets an opportunity, he makes plays.
02:41It's just the reality of it is, is it's not, people aren't able to see that often enough.
02:46Um, I, I, I'm going with tough this week to be completely honest with you, because there's, there's some pretty good stuff going on on both sides of the football, but there's, it came down for me between Henry Toa Toa and, um, and Blake Fisher.
03:00And I'm going to talk about Blake Fisher a little bit later on. So I'm going to go with Henry Toa Toa.
03:04I think Henry, uh, is doing fine. Um, but it seemed like last week when, when we lost, um, Aziz Alshair for a few plays, it seemed like EJ speed slid over into that, into that communicator on the defense, which is who Henry Toa Toa was last year.
03:25Now that may be, which I would think is the decision I would make.
03:29The move I would make is let Henry just keep doing business as, as planned.
03:33And you move EJ into where he gets more reps and he's the vocal part of it.
03:38But based on what I know last year, that was the guy that moved to the middle.
03:42That was the guy that was a communicator last year when they were healthy, they were the main two backs.
03:46Now you're at, they're, they're trickling EJ speed in there.
03:49Some for Henry Toa Toa.
03:51So I'm going to go stock slightly down for 39, not a major deal, not a worry, not a big concern, but I I'm, I'm having a hard time finding one and I'm going to go Henry Toa to a 39 stock down.
04:02It is stock up, stock down live on the drive.
04:05Do it every Wednesday, right around 3 30 PM.
04:08Got the Texans heading to the chiefs.
04:10We got the negatives out of the way.
04:12The stock down stock downs are done with time to focus in on that positive.
04:17Best part of the segment.
04:18We're on the show.
04:19Hughley Texans chief Sunday night football stock up for these Texans in your eyes.
04:24Yeah.
04:24I think there's a lot of places you can go.
04:26I see people texting in a lot of places where they're, where they're going.
04:30Um, as I see, uh, our guy, Ocho has Higgins is his stock up.
04:35Uh, a lot of places you can go.
04:36I'm going to go Jalen Petrie, Jalen Petrie, who has missed.
04:41He's the other one.
04:42Uh, we know that CJ missed several games.
04:44Jalen Petrie also missed several games with the, uh, with the concussion and he ain't playing no games, baby.
04:49He got that protector on, uh, on his helmet.
04:52I don't blame him.
04:53Why not?
04:53Um, but we all know what his bugaboo is.
04:59And what his, his definite flaw is in his game.
05:05And I'm telling you, there was some concerns of, Ooh, boy, he's Josh Downs and him in the slot.
05:12That's a concern.
05:13That's the best I've ever seen.
05:15Jay Petrie since he's been here in coverage.
05:17Uh, he made big time plays in coverage.
05:21He was really, really good.
05:22Now Josh Downs made a couple of plays and it, and they weren't all on him, but there were big moments where you could see.
05:28There was a big third down that he broke up, uh, where he was step for step with him in the slot with a two way go.
05:35So Jalen Petrie for what he was able to do in terms of being in coverage, which has definitely been an issue for him since he's been here.
05:43I was very, very impressed Sunday in a tougher matchup with Josh Downs.
05:48They sometimes slide, uh, other receivers on the, in the slot.
05:52And I thought Jalen Petrie was really, really good.
05:54Yeah.
05:54I mean, that's, that's, uh, that's a good one.
05:56That's a good one.
05:57You know, my, my stock up tee, I'm going to go with Miles Bryant.
06:01Uh, I don't know that his stock's ever been higher.
06:03The head coach is going in there talking about he's the most trustworthy, dependable player on the defense.
06:07And if he's going to put anybody in there at any position, it's going to be Miles Bryant.
06:10And then you look at kind of how he's been challenged.
06:12I mean, we've, we're going through safeties, whether it's by choice or by injury.
06:16We're going through safeties left and right.
06:17Miles Bryant, I think makes him comfortable, uh, with, with, whether it's injury or having to part ways with guys.
06:23I think Miles Bryant makes him, uh, comfortable knowing that a, if Jalen Petrie's out, which knock on wood, hopefully not anymore, but he was the concussion.
06:30Boom.
06:30Miles Bryant jumps in there.
06:31I think his ability to play multiple positions, play, uh, to, to do some Jalen Petrie type stuff of, in terms of bell and back into coverage and rolling down and playing around the line of scrimmage and playing a nickel defender and kind of helping them disguise some things.
06:44I think he's done a tremendous job with that.
06:47And, uh, so I'll be honest with you.
06:48I don't know if there's a, a stock higher right now, or maybe not higher, but one that has climbed as much as Miles Bryant has this year.
06:56This defense has not missed a beat.
06:58And like I said, they've been through several safeties and they've spent time without, uh, one of the more vocal players, one of the better players, one of the best players in the defense, uh, Jalen Petrie.
07:09And he's played a part in filling in for every one of those guys at one time or another.
07:12So I'm going with Miles Bryant on that defense, man.
07:15Stock up, stock through the roof right now.
07:16Yeah, both in the secondary.
07:17You ain't lying though.
07:18I mean, uh, it seems like D'Amico can't wait to start talking about Miles Bryant and everything he brings to the table.
07:24And he has been, he has been big, right?
07:27Well, with the air, with the read, with the read injury this week.
07:30I mean, shoot, here we go again, back in the mix.
