00:00We're celebrating women here this morning.
00:02What has it been like being part of a cast with so many powerful women in All's Fair?
00:06Well, doing All's Fair has been incredible.
00:09Of course, Ryan Murphy is phenomenal.
00:11But there is nothing better than coming to set with a whole group of women.
00:16To collaborate with women is, and women who truly support each other.
00:21I mean, really want to bring out the best in each other.
00:23Everyone's bringing their A game.
00:25They have each other's backs, and it's a beautiful thing.
00:27When you have that, there are no limits to where you can go with your work
00:32and explore creativity and collaboration.
00:36It's the best.
00:37It's safe.
00:37It's wonderful.
00:39I love that.
00:40And that's truly a dream cast of amazing women.
00:43But who's another woman in Hollywood that you'd love to collaborate with in the future
00:46who maybe you haven't worked with yet?
00:49There's so many great, incredible women.
00:51I would love to work with Nicole Kidman.
00:54I'd love to work with Charlize.
00:55I'd love to work with, oh my gosh, everywhere you turn in this room that I'm about to step
01:02into is going to be a woman that I'd love to collaborate with.
01:05Writers, producers, actresses.
01:08It's such a thrilling time where women are really able to carve out their own path now
01:15and kind of reclaim that creative power, too, which is thrilling.
01:19I just saw my mentor here, Sherry Lansing.
01:23And so for me, I'm just reflecting on my life and my journey that having her has been a beautiful gift in my life.
01:30And speaking of mentorship, you see what the foundation is the backbone of this event as well as honoring women.
01:40And it's extraordinary, the scholarships that are given and the nurturing and true mentorship.
01:47So that's one of the parts I'm most giddy about today is just to see the magic that the foundation creates
01:54and the impact that they have and have had all these years and will continue to.
01:59That's amazing.
02:00Can you speak a little bit more about how Sherry has been a mentor to you?
02:05Sherry, I met Sherry when I was about 21.
02:08And I sat in her office at Paramount.
02:09And my first job for her when she was running the studio was First Wives Club.
02:13So today's going to be particularly moving to see Goldie, who I've stayed in touch with all these years,
02:19honoring and speaking about beautiful Diane Keaton.
02:22So it's an inspiring day for sure on a lot of levels.
02:26But she's been there for me through the years when I've had business decisions or creative decisions.
02:32Sherry's really been a force in my life and a constant.
02:35So it's a lot of years.
02:37Two Midwest ladies in Hollywood.
02:40It's a beautiful thing.
02:41But I really found her and was able to turn to her at a time where I really needed her.
02:46It was right after Showgirls and she was the first studio to hire me a couple of years after that.
02:51So forever I love her.
