00:00And back to the phones, and Fred Enrichment has been patient.
00:04Fred, thank you for calling.
00:05Thank you for waiting.
00:06What's up?
00:08Hey, what's going on, y'all?
00:10Thanks for taking my call.
00:12Yes, sir.
00:13Man, I'm just a Warrior fan, man.
00:15At this point, man, I'm just trying to enjoy the last of this Don Breed with Steph and Dre.
00:22I wish he could have been Clay also, but at the end of the day,
00:25Steve Curry must have thought Prezinski was a little better than Clay Thompson.
00:31Man, all your calls prior to my call, man, them dudes are ridiculous.
00:35They talking about Steph Curry turnovers.
00:37Do y'all know Steph Curry was turning the ball over with four championships?
00:42Them same seasons, he won multiple MVPs.
00:46He was still turning the ball over.
00:48They got to remember, Steph is almost 40 years old.
00:51He's about to be 38 in March of next year.
00:53Come on, y'all.
00:54Let's just enjoy it.
00:57With the Kamingo situation, he got to go because that agent of his, he's a loser.
01:05You don't do things like that during the game.
01:08Like, be professional.
01:10Like, he's trying to get money like the Wagner brother out there in Orlando.
01:16You're not him.
01:17We don't know what you are.
01:19Just play basketball at this point because he's going to understand when he does go to another team, wherever that is.
01:27I hope it's Utah, but wherever it is, he's going to understand that he had a real great thing in the Bay Area.
01:35And he's going to regret it.
01:37Thanks for having me on, y'all.
01:39Appreciate y'all.
01:39Fred, thank you.
01:40It's a good call.
01:41I don't know if Jonathan will regret it.
01:43Like, maybe he'll love it.
01:44I don't want him to not enjoy his career.
01:48And if he wants that to be somewhere else, that's fine.
01:52I think the point about the agent, though, is a good one.
01:55And I want to remind everybody that when we came out of the summer with all of the screaming and yelling about Jonathan Kaminga,
02:02the face of the forever Golden State Warriors franchise, said one thing and one thing only.
02:08He said, I don't have any problem with whatever Jonathan's doing to negotiate his new deal.
02:13These things can be hard.
02:15I did not like what his agent did.
02:17And I told Jonathan that.
02:20And I said, don't let him go out there and speak for you.
02:25So that's what Steph Curry said.
02:27So I'm going to accept that as gospel.
02:30I agree with what Fred said.
02:32Aaron Turner obviously has come on this station.
02:35He came on for a really, really long time.
02:37I don't think that this is helping Jonathan's situation to have Aaron in the stands basically picking fights with Steve Kerr.
02:47Whether you agree with him or not is not even my point.
02:50Yeah, the tweet was launched at 1036.
02:52So I think the game was already over, just in all fairness.
02:55It was a few minutes after the game ended.
02:57Yeah.
02:57So, I mean, whatever.
02:58But like that's...
02:59Just a point of like accuracy.
03:01No, but I mean he is reacting directly to the fact that Jonathan did not play in the fourth quarter.
03:09That's what the tweet was.
03:10I mean, we're assuming.
03:11No, because he...
03:12The tweet is, what are we doing out here, facepalm.
03:14Right, and read the thing that he retweeted moments later.
03:17Yep.
03:17From Cyrus Satsas.
03:19Whoever the hell that is.
03:20I used to work with him.
03:21Okay.
03:22At another station here in town.
03:23All right.
03:24About, boy, maybe 20 years ago now.
03:27Okay.
03:27And he...
03:28I don't know Cyrus, but what did Cyrus say that Aaron Turner decided was retweet worthy?
03:32I'd have to look.
03:33Oh, you don't have it?
03:34J.K. was a huge part of that comeback.
03:36Curry rewards him with a 4Q benching.
03:39Warriors trail by four with 3.56 to go.
03:41Facepalm.
03:42Facepalm.
03:43Facepalm.
03:44Retweet.
03:45Retweet.
03:45This is not a good thing.
03:4734 other people retweeted it.
03:48I don't care who...
03:49In fairness, he cannot be that guy.
03:51I don't care what you support here.
03:54That's not good for Warrior basketball.
03:56We don't need the agents of the players immediately after a game criticizing the organization on behalf of their player.
04:10The retweet actually happened with four minutes to go, and then 17 minutes later, the agent put out his own tweet.
04:17So...
04:17They both ended with Facepalm.
04:19Well, Cyrus' initial tweet came out earlier.
04:21Correct.
04:22Aaron Turner retweeted it after he put his initial tweet out.
04:25Yeah, exactly.
04:25Oh, I love it.
04:26I love how we got the tweet timeline.
04:27I have Kaminga's agents' tweet notifications turned on.
04:30Yeah.
04:31I got you covered.
04:32How do you feel about that?
04:33I want to turn them off.
04:36On January 16th, you can.
04:38I wouldn't have even known.
04:40Like, Grandy, he texted this to us.
04:42I was in the car on the way home from the game, and I'm like, oh, great.
04:46I woke up to about 18 texts from the three of you, and I was like, oh, boy.
04:51I mean, because that game ended, and it was boop.
04:54I was tired.
04:54You're like, did Aaron Judge sign with the Giants again?
04:57Right.
04:57What happened?
04:58Did John Heyman spell Aaron Judge wrong again?
05:01Arson Turner?
05:02The Giants did sign a...
05:03They signed a reliever today.
05:06Sam Hentschis.
05:10Hentschis.
05:11I like the player.
05:13Yeah.
05:13He was good.
05:15But he didn't miss last year with an injury.
05:17Of course.
05:18Yeah.
05:18It's the nut stove.
05:21Totally.
05:22All right.
05:24Nick in Berkeley.
05:25Hi, Nick.
05:26What are you doing?
05:28I'm just wondering why we have so many guards on our team, and we got a team that's small.
05:33I mean, what is it, six-foot and under league at Mosswood back in the day?
05:36What's going on, man?
05:37Dunley, what are you doing?
05:38Like, we need taller players, bro.
05:40We need some athleticism.
05:41Like, we got so many guards out there, man.
05:43It's ridiculous.
05:44Like, I understand, you know, like, we run and gun, but, like, you know, there are some
05:47big guys that can run and gun, too, and we need to get some, like, you know, if we
05:51are getting some guards, we need some, like, Mullen School, Michael Cooper-type guards.
05:54We need some guys that are long and lean and that can shoot and actually, you know, cover
05:57some ground playing defense, man.
05:59You know, we're a little light inside.
06:01We got to get, you know, at least we can get in there and, you know, hack hard and knock
06:06a couple guys to the floor here and there and get some hard fouls instead of getting
06:09ran over all the time like we're getting ran over, man.
06:12It's like, come on, Dunley.
06:13He's like, man, how many guards do you want on the team, bro?
06:15Like, you know, it doesn't take a rocket science.
06:17We're not flying to Mars.
06:18It's a basketball team.
06:19And as far as, you know, Kaminga and his agent, man, ship both of them out right now,
06:23man.
06:23I'm tired.
06:24I'm tired of hearing his whining.
06:25I'm tired of hearing his agent's whining.
06:28I mean, they make a lot of money doing what they do, man.
06:30Stop your crying.
06:31People are out here, you know, making $25, $35, $40,000 a year, and then they're struggling
06:36to support their family.
06:37And you catch them sitting up there whining on the side of the court like grown kids,
06:41man.
06:41We don't need no grown children on the Warriors no more.
06:44You know what I mean?
06:44And we don't need, you know, players jumping in the face of fans or none of that, man.
06:48It's all a big distraction.
06:50Curry don't even like none of that, man.
06:51I'm telling you right now.
06:52He probably don't say none, but he don't like it either.
06:54So, I mean, we're not trying to, you know, I mean, if we're actually trying to back Stephen
06:58Curry up for him being like the most prolific player in NBA history, maybe, and we're
07:04trying to get him another ring, then why are we not doing the things?
07:07That need to be done to get him that ring, man.
07:09And I'm just saying all these distractions, we've got nothing but distractions.
07:12You know what I mean?
07:13And Kerr, you know, he's his coach and he just likes to coach.
07:16He's not really, you know, like it's not really his job.
07:18The owner and the GM got to, you know, put their foot down and be like, man, if you don't
07:22like it, you'll raise your hand and we'll ship you out.
07:25And that's how it should be.
07:26Some of these players be acting like, oh, we're so privileged to have you on our team.
07:32No, you're lucky to be playing a kid's game and getting paid millions of dollars.
07:35Go out there and ball out.
07:37Do your whining to your family on the side or whatever you do your whining to.
07:40But, you know, you don't put out in public like that, man.
07:43All these distractions is too much, man.
07:45Just win.
07:46Go out there and win.
07:46Just play basketball.
07:47Nick, thank you.
07:48Appreciate it.
07:49I've never done cocaine.
07:50I feel like Nick's calls are verbal cocaine.
07:53Not quite, but I mean, I don't know what it's like, but it's just double espresso.
07:57OK, like, yeah, there's a lot.
07:59This like I just feel stressed at the end of it.
08:02And there wasn't anything stressful said, but I liked it.
08:04There was a lot of good takes.
08:06I did not like I did not like it, but it just feels a little bit.
08:11There's a lot going on.
08:12It's a little frenetic for sure.
08:13And the one thing about it, though, is the whole idea of the offseason.
08:17Everybody wanted them to just go out and find a seven footer who can shoot it and defend
08:23and rebound.
08:24And I don't know.
08:25Not that easy to find.
08:25Yeah, I get it.
08:26Those people don't really exist.
08:27And the fact that Mike Dunleavy is in love with guards, I don't know what wing player is
08:33out there.
08:33And you've got wing players and you hope that Moody can be good and you hope that Kaminga
08:38can be a good wing player.
08:40But this team is always going to be built around Steph Curry.
08:43And so when you look for players who can work with Steph Curry, that is a certain archetype
08:49of basketball player.
08:51And there aren't that many people who can actually come in and do that.
08:54It's not.
08:54Yeah, like it's not, especially with your financial constraints, because you have two players
08:59making over $50 million a year.
09:01Now, his point about Kaminga's agent, I do want to say one more thing about this and why
09:06yesterday for me was a line of demarcation.
09:08This is this is a problem.
09:10If you as an agent are representing your client in the middle of a contentious contract negotiation
09:16and you do an hour and a half on the radio and another hour on TV, I get it.
09:21I don't have to like it, but I understand that you're trying to advocate for your client because
09:27your job as the agent is to get that client as much money and the best contract possible.
09:34So, OK, OK, Aaron, but that job's done now.
09:40Now you're just a dude in the stands.
09:44But job's not done now.
09:45No, the job is done for the moment.
09:47There's no contract negotiation for at least a year and a half.
09:50And now all you're doing is being a problem.
09:53That's it.
09:54Well, you're trying to provoke the exodus in six weeks.
09:57That's what you're trying to do.
09:58That that is very, very disadvantageous for the Golden State Warriors.
10:04It's toxic and it could be risky for the client, but maybe that's what the client wants.
10:09Well, then that's a completely different problem, by the way.
10:13But that's all like remember when Ayesha Curry accused the league of being rigged.
10:18Has she tweeted again?
10:20No.
10:21Yeah, exactly.
10:23So, Jonathan, it's time to have that talk.
10:26No more tweeting about Warrior basketball from Aaron Turner.
10:32If I'm Jonathan Kaminga, that would be the right thing to do.
