00:00You don't talk about a guy's chicken or his mental?
00:03Three, two.
00:04Yo, this is John Spider Sally, four-time NBA champion,
00:07and you are listening to Stiney and the Goo on 95.7 The Game.
00:13All right, here it is crossover time, and because it's a Friday,
00:16we are sponsored by Atco Pest Control.
00:20Coming up in 10 minutes, we will also have the What's Bugging You segment,
00:23also sponsored by Atco Pest Control.
00:26And at that time, I'll give you a few more details about that wonderful company.
00:30But first, let me introduce some more wonderful company.
00:34Dan Dibley and Mark Willard.
00:37Wow, that was a nice thing to say.
00:38That was a really nice thing to say.
00:40Sure.
00:41How are you, Sammy?
00:42Yeah, thank you.
00:43Go ahead and play it for him, Evan.
00:44I know you want to play it for him.
00:46Thank God, no dibs.
00:49That's how we started yesterday.
00:51That's how the crossover started.
00:53Thank God, no dibs?
00:54Okay, let's do it.
00:55Hold on, hold on, hold on.
00:56Hold on, hold on, hold on.
00:57Let me set it up for you.
00:58No, because I'm going to leave.
00:59I'm going to leave right now.
01:00And that's why I'm going to set it up.
01:01Episode of Three's Company right now.
01:03Welcome to the crossover.
01:05Oh, Mark Willard.
01:06Oh, he's in for Mark Grandy.
01:08Thank God, no dibs.
01:11Now, let me tell you where that stems from, baby.
01:14Wow, I hope you're on YouTube.
01:15I didn't know where Mount Tam's was located.
01:18Or Mount Tam.
01:19Mount Tam.
01:20I'm not going to tell me that.
01:21Neither one of them.
01:21And they ripped me.
01:23And everybody.
01:24But I've been to Tiburon and on that side.
01:27Went to Willards.
01:27That's your hood.
01:28And they go in the chat.
01:30When dibs comes in, it's over.
01:32And I said, it might be.
01:34So when I saw Grandy, I said, I'm going to get that pass.
01:37And not knowing where Mount Tam is located.
01:40And that's what that stems from.
01:42That's good detail.
01:43I go to you, my dog.
01:43That's good detail.
01:44I go to you first when I need help.
01:46He was scared of what you were going to bring.
01:48No doubt about it.
01:48So when I found out you were off, that came out.
01:51I just jumped it out.
01:52But then add the part about when you were talking about his disposition.
01:56Disposition.
01:57What do you mean?
01:59Oh, he's playing.
02:00My attitude.
02:01Yeah.
02:02Yeah, he's playing.
02:03That was a joke.
02:03No, yeah, sure.
02:05But now I'm mad at you.
02:06But you guys figure this out real quick.
02:08No, we had a black-white draft.
02:09FNBA players, Nick Wright, and you ripped me like my boy Squirt.
02:13Your list.
02:15Willard, I ain't working with a lot.
02:17But I got the big dogs.
02:18And I had fun.
02:19Put pods in there.
02:20But I had Flagg, Jokic, Luka, Reeves.
02:23I forgot somebody.
02:24This is current, not historical.
02:25Yeah, thank you.
02:27And Divs just ripped me.
02:28You did a cheap shot at me.
02:30I mean, I got who the guys.
02:32Right.
02:33I mean, pods.
02:34Yeah.
02:34I was having some fun, dude.
02:36I mean, it didn't sound like you were having some fun when you did it.
02:39Because, I mean, Stiney's over there like, boom.
02:42I mean, his team was obviously easier.
02:44Yeah, okay, hello.
02:45Like, oh, Kawhi, I mean, sure.
02:47I'll take him.
02:48Anthony Edwards.
02:49I mean, why not?
02:50Wemby, your third pick.
02:52But I had Jokic just flagged Luka.
02:53I had Luka flagged Jokic.
02:56Yeah, exactly.
02:57I mean, the whole thing, you were set up to fail.
03:00Because your talent pool is a lot more shallower.
03:03Willis, you see me knocking, Willis?
03:05Yeah, yeah.
03:06Who said Gordon Hayward?
03:07I said he's retired.
03:08Stiney's over here sifting through options.
03:11He's like, I don't know exactly what I'm saying.
03:13I'm like, what do you want me to do?
03:15I'm not a Ferrari.
03:16I'm sure I'll take the rant.
03:18He can come off my bench.
03:20Sure.
03:21Oh, gosh.
03:23So what's up, Jokic?
03:24I'm at least giving you some of the likes here, brother.
03:27We had fun with that.
03:28Let him play for Goose Team.
03:30Come on.
03:32Nah, man.
03:33We missed you.
03:34I mean, it doesn't sound like it, but thanks for saying that.
03:38I mean, you know you're my dude.
03:40Yeah.
03:40I mean, my daughter, who's three, did her first ever live performance in Walnut Creek at the Lesher Center, which
03:48is like a real theater.
03:49Really nice.
03:50I mean, really nice.
03:51And so she's up there doing her thing.
03:52And you're videoing.
03:53I know you were.
03:54My wife was.
03:56That's all that counts.
03:57And this is my thing.
03:57And maybe I should save it in eight minutes for what's bugging me.
04:01But what's bugging me is people who, like, video things on their phone, and you never watch the video.
04:09So, for example, yesterday, like, my daughter's three.
04:12Yeah.
04:12And she's up there with her whole class of three and four-year-olds, and they're doing You Are My
04:16Sunshine, My Only Sunshine.
04:18And I don't video it because I want to watch it.
04:21I want to enjoy it in the moment.
04:23And if I videoed it, how many times would I actually go back and watch it?
04:28Probably not that many.
04:29So everybody who, like, you know, pulls out their phone for whatever moment, a lot of those times, you actually
04:35don't go back and watch the video that you recorded.
04:38Put down your phone and live in the moment.
04:42What about Daisy and Norm's books of my pictures when I was three and four?
04:45And we didn't have the video, but you had the camera to take the picture to where we get together
04:50on and then go through and look at little Willard at the little league.
04:53So we were watching videos when the kids were really little just last night.
04:58And actually, my dad, this is his favorite thing.
05:01Tom.
05:02Tom is in his 80s now, and he does not show up to anything without, and not a phone, a
05:09video camera.
05:10Legal.
05:11It's cool.
05:11And if he forgets his video camera, the event is ruined.
05:15And he will then, at the next event, debut the DVD video that he has produced from the last event.
05:24And that's how it works.
05:25And it's a very big deal to him.
05:27I love it.
05:27And if you're at a house where the DVD player is like a Blu-ray and it won't play, it's
05:32very traumatic and everybody gets very upset.
05:34But that's what he does.
05:36And those are actually very, very valued pieces of our history.
05:40But you're not wrong.
05:41Has anybody, like, if you've been to a concert, it's just phones.
05:46Yep.
05:46Has anybody ever gone back and watched the videos of the concert that you recorded?
05:54The kids' games?
05:55It doesn't really.
05:55I have not done the concert.
05:57Everybody, like, if you've got good seats at a show, you just, oh, this is my favorite song.
06:03I'm going to video it.
06:04You never watch it again.
06:05If you do, it doesn't really do it justice.
06:07It's on a phone.
06:09Right.
06:09So I'm with you for concerts especially.
06:11Yeah.
06:12So let me ask you this, Dips.
06:13I'm being real.
06:15To your point, you've got to want to go watch your baby girl, you know, do her thing.
06:19So that's on you, though, you know, to go watch it again with your other half recorded.
06:24So it's there for you.
06:25I'm just asking you, when will you go dial that up?
06:29Maybe in, like, 12 years when she's 15.
06:32And I'm, you know, trying to flash back on when she was three.
06:35And honestly, like, if you looked around the room, there were probably 10 or 12 parents
06:40with the phone out.
06:40And so it's going to be captured.
06:43It's going to be captured by somebody for me.
06:46And maybe it's, I'm a little bit older or whatever, but I want to enjoy the moment.
06:50Like, the moment without my phone.
06:52So I'm looking at my phone and I'm trying to zoom in to see her.
06:55And I'm not really a part of actually what's going on.
06:58When she turns 13, you're going to want that video.
07:01I mean, you'll have it.
07:02The video's there.
07:03So when she really pisses you off, you could just whip that video out and be like, remember
07:08when she was cute?
07:09Yeah.
07:09Because those were my favorite days.
07:11I mean, it's 9 or 5 this morning's on the phone.
07:13You'll have a lot of opportunities for montages, whether it's a wedding or an anniversary or
07:21a special birthday.
07:22Yeah.
07:23There'll be opportunities to do that.
07:25It's very doable these days.
07:26Yeah.
07:27No doubt.
07:28Whatever.
07:28I mean, it's not really what's bugging me, but I mean, yesterday you get all the phones
07:33out and everybody's doing their thing.
07:35It's like, can you just be here?
07:37Can we just be here in the moment?
07:39We take pictures of our food out to dinner now.
07:42Like, that's where we're at.
07:43Or even more so when you're not out to dinner.
07:45If you cooked it, people are really proud of it.
07:48Wow, man.
07:48They're like, look at what my stove can do.
07:51It's like the experience is tainted, but the experience is capturing it because if you
07:58don't capture it, it's like it didn't happen.
08:00What happened to just going to Cabo and getting away?
08:05I'm in the bathroom in Cabo.
08:07I mean, it's to that point.
08:08You know, like, damn.
08:09I do it?
08:10Oh, yeah.
08:11I don't know.
08:12I'm in the bathroom in Cabo.
08:13I'm just saying.
08:14That's amazing.
08:17Well, that's what we do.
08:20My sweatshirt's not here.
08:22Where'd you go?
08:23Yeah.
08:23Go to the bathroom in Cabo?
08:24I was getting chilly.
08:25Oh.
08:26I was getting chilly.
08:27I put my sweatshirt back on.
08:29I loved your pods conversation.
08:33Not the draft.
08:34The actual conversation.
08:36I mean.
08:36It's such an interesting dynamic.
08:38It is, Will.
08:38I feel like we're past the point of discussing why people don't like him.
08:43Don't we know all the reasons now?
08:45We totally get it.
08:46I'm now interested in what is this going to mean for, like, his warrior career might get ruined.
08:52And that's, most people will be like, who cares?
08:55Let's talk about the finance real quick.
08:56Do the warriors, if he asks for 30.
08:58Oh, God, no.
08:59I asked him this.
09:00God, no.
09:01But 30 a year?
09:04I'm with Mark here.
09:06Let's forget about that.
09:07What's going to happen to him?
09:08But what I've realized in the last couple weeks is, oh, my God, people really can't stand him.
09:16They're really, really.
09:17Like Dunleavy-like.
09:19Right.
09:19And that I can relate to.
09:21And so that's what I'm starting to think about now is, like, we might be getting into affecting play type
09:31stuff.
09:31And it's mostly out of his control.
09:32Because he was hesitant the other night.
09:34That was one game.
09:35Yeah, but it's mostly out of his control.
09:37I know people didn't like snooty comments that he made.
09:40But I'm like, are we really triggered by arrogance in the NBA?
09:43Is that what you're telling me?
09:45Like, good God, who the hell isn't arrogant in the NBA?
09:49And then my favorite part of what you said, Stiney, because I really feel like, let's pin this down.
09:55Because each of us in this room, if we had a nickel for every single time somebody insinuated that this
10:02was race, we could all retire.
10:05Oh, my gosh.
10:06So if that's what you, stop insinuating it and say it.
10:09That's what he said.
10:11And what I love is Draymond Steph would not play for a guy that was like that.
10:16And we've been around Kerr long enough to know he's the last one.
10:20But you're right.
10:21If you're going to go there, say that.
10:23Because that's what you're insinuating.
10:25Call the station and say that Steve Kerr's a racist.
10:28And I'll say this.
10:29And if you won't do that, then shut up.
10:31I got that.
10:32About the race thing.
10:33But why the WWE comp doesn't work for me?
10:36And I said this to Stiney.
10:37He didn't buy it.
10:38I don't know if that's too strong.
10:41Dibs, just tell me your thoughts on, and I have nothing against pods, at the Valkyrie game.
10:47When you're at the Valkyrie game, that's your life.
10:49You're young.
10:50You're having a ball.
10:51But to me, I am wondering, in today's society, young, old, middle age, maybe if you were Steph Curry or
10:59Jalen Brunson or Brock Purdy,
11:02however you pods carried himself, or was at the center of attention at those games,
11:09not that he was trying to do it or he did anything wrong, but do you think in a crazy
11:13world, that's for Braun.
11:15That's for the Stephs of the world.
11:17You're not there yet.
11:19And it's crazy thinking, but I'm wondering if he was doing himself a disservice because it might have been coming
11:25off like he thought he was that dude.
11:26Yeah, I don't really get that part of it because, I mean, you're off.
11:31Like, it's the summer, and if you want to be a fan of the Valks and you're, like, really into
11:36it, then go be into it.
11:37And I think that it's great that he was so passionate about that, and he wanted to be a fan
11:43of that.
11:43And so, for me, it's like you don't have to be an eight- or nine-year vet.
11:47Okay, now you can go out there and be a super fan, but, I mean, you're pods, and you're not
11:52quite to that level yet,
11:53so you can't be, you know, front and center about that.
11:56I don't really understand that part of it as far as, like, the pods hate.
12:01The comments about I wanted after, it was no keys said, but they labeled it as that.
12:06I think that hurt him.
12:07I mean, it all hurt him.
12:09And I think the one thing that hurt him the most is the whole idea about I want to be
12:12better than Steph.
12:13And, honestly, like, good for you.
12:16You should want to be better than Steph.
12:18And, you know, Stiney actually had a comment earlier about, you know, what you wanted to be.
12:23And, you know, I wanted to be basically better than Howard Cosell and better than Bob Costas.
12:28And I wanted to be that.
12:30And as you get deeper in your career, it's like, well, I mean, let's go ahead and back that thing
12:34up a little bit
12:35because that's not going to be how this goes.
12:38And so, you know, he's, what, Pods is 22, 23?
12:43Could we split the difference on that, though?
12:44Because I heard the caller that came in and was like, he didn't say, I'm going to be better than
12:49Steph.
12:49He said, I want to be better than Steph.
12:51Horace in Texas.
12:52How about don't say that, though?
12:54Don't say that.
12:55You can think that.
12:57Don't say that.
12:57There's a price that comes with saying, right?
13:00Well, you have to, listen, another one.
13:03Everybody in this room, what do we need to know every day?
13:05Our audience.
13:06You have to know your audience.
13:09You do not walk into the Bay Area and say, I want to be better than Steph.
13:13That's stupid.
13:14It's silly.
13:15So I don't hate him for saying it.
13:18Yeah, either do I, but I think that really hurt him.
13:20Of course it did.
13:21To think that that's going to land with this fan base?
13:24Good Lord.
13:26What are you doing?
13:27Don't do that.
13:28Don't, don't, don't.
13:29Wow.
13:30Don't.
13:31Alienate.
13:31Well, I mean, I even knew people that didn't think it was that funny when Jordan Poole
13:36was like, hey, Steph, let me take the technical free throws.
13:40Don't pit yourself against Steph Curry in this town.
13:43Period.
13:44Not even a little bit.
13:45You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ FM, and HD1 San Francisco, an Odyssey sports station
13:51in the home of the Golden State Warriors and Valkyries, always live on the free Odyssey
13:54app.
13:55Coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios.
13:57If rodents make it inside during winter, January is when they settle in.
14:02Chewed wires, droppings, and scratching sounds are signs.
14:05They're already there.
14:07Atco Pest Control handles removal and long-term prevention.
14:10Take action now at copestcontrol.com and mention you heard about Atco on the What's Bugging
14:17You segment, and you'll get 10% off any rodent treatment this month.
14:23I got a dumb one.
14:24I'll go first.
14:25Ricky Henderson.
14:25I feel like Siri is against sports gambling, and I'm bothered by it.
14:31It shouldn't bother me, but it does, and here's what I mean.
14:35So when I'm driving around, I don't want to text and drive, so I use the Siri thing.
14:41Yeah.
14:41And often it's when I'm listening to you guys, and I'm driving into work, and our thread
14:47is talking about all kinds of different things that we're going to talk about.
14:51Well, one thing that comes up a lot, a word that comes up a lot, is picks.
14:56Dibs is going to make his picks.
14:58Yep.
14:58Or we can pick our favorite this, or we can pick our favorite that.
15:04And Siri thinks that any time I use the word pick, that it's actually pictures.
15:10Because she doesn't like the word picks.
15:12She thinks I mean P-I-C-S, short for pictures, when no, I mean picks, P-I-C-K
15:19-S, and she will
15:21not acknowledge it at all.
15:23No matter how slow or loud, do you ever do that, where you start yelling at Siri?
15:28I didn't cuss her out.
15:29It's just you by yourself.
15:30I didn't cuss her out.
15:31Just listen to what I'm saying, Siri.
15:34And then say that.
15:37Say that to my friends who I'm trying to talk to.
15:40I don't want to text and drive.
15:42But if you can't listen to the words that are coming out of my mouth, it makes me think.
15:47Now I have to pick up the phone, and I don't want to pick up the phone.
15:51The word picks is a word all by itself.
15:55Right.
15:55It's not short for pictures.
15:57Yes.
15:57Onward.
15:58Daryl, I can't do that while you're driving.
16:00Totally, right.
16:01I'm like, hey!
16:02Siri.
16:03My wife is a big Siri person, and I tell Siri all the time at home, like, shut up.
16:09Shut up.
16:10Shut up, Siri.
16:11Like, you're useless.
16:13By the way, our phones are going crazy right now.
16:15Yeah, not mine.
16:16Not mine.
16:17Not yours.
16:18Not yours.
16:20All right.
16:21What's bugging me is, why does Piedmont High School keep its lights on the football field lit 24-7?
16:35Wait, 24-7?
16:36So, I walk by there once in a while and walk to the door.
16:42Okay, so they all have practices.
16:43But I swear to God, the last week or two, you know, I can't sleep through the night.
16:47Yeah.
16:48I'm a 60-year-old man.
16:50Sure, yeah.
16:50We all know what happens.
16:52You've got to answer.
16:52Yeah.
16:53You know, I got a window view.
16:56Yep.
16:56In those situations.
16:58And I'm looking up the hill.
16:59I swear to God, it's like 340 and it's like the football lights are on.
17:03Still on.
17:04Yeah.
17:04Yes.
17:05Wow.
17:06And I just don't, I don't understand that.
17:08Yeah.
17:09I mean.
17:10Game might break out.
17:12Tough neighborhood.
17:13I mean, you gotta make sure you keep the lights on.
17:15We don't live in Piedmont, but we can see Piedmont from where we live.
17:19Yes.
17:20Do you keep your golf clubs in the car?
17:21No.
17:22Oh, you don't?
17:23No.
17:23Not anymore.
17:24Oh, no.
17:25Never mind.
17:26Yeah.
17:26Anyway, I'm just, I don't know.
17:30Yeah.
17:31Just bugging me at about 347.
17:33Wow.
17:34All right.
17:34I wonder if we get the answer as to why they're on.
17:37I mean, we can find out.
17:38You know, it's going to happen.
17:39Somebody's going to say, yeah, you're wrong.
17:41They go out every night at 11.
17:42You just go to bed at seven.
17:44Yeah.
17:44There's that.
17:45What you got, Div?
17:46Well, what's bugging me is vacancies.
17:49And not only vacancies like here in San Francisco, but in my town where I live, the problem right
17:56now is that if you are a industrial business owner, it's almost better for you to not have
18:03somebody in your property than it is to actually rent it out.
18:06So we have now a system where if you are an owner of a business and you have a building
18:13or whatever, it's almost more beneficial for you to not rent it out because then you
18:19can write it off as a loss.
18:20And so you've got here in the city, you've got all these vacancies, buildings, restaurants,
18:26like, you know, different places where businesses would be, but you don't rent it out because
18:31it's almost better for you to not actually reap the little money that you might get from
18:37rent.
18:38It's better to actually chalk it up as a loss.
18:40And so we have that in my town as well, where we've got a shopping center that's like,
18:45you know, 35% empty.
18:48So it's dead.
18:48Right.
18:49It's dead.
18:49It's dead.
18:50So we can't have a restaurant.
18:51We can't have an actual deli.
18:53We can't have a burrito shop.
18:55We can't have this.
18:56We can't have that because the owner would rather lose money and write it off as opposed
19:01to, I don't know, making this a vibrant part of life sucks.
19:06Wow.
19:08Mine is real trivial compared to that.
19:10You guys got some real stuff.
19:11So mine is at this age, you guys don't know this.
19:13I always wanted to write movies, but I love movies.
19:17I'm a big movie watcher.
19:18So my oldest son Donovan, we had a conversation a couple of weeks ago.
19:21He said, Hey, this movie, Marty Supreme, go check it out.
19:24I'm like that Marty Supreme.
19:26It's one of the greatest films I've ever seen up into the end.
19:31And I just want to PSA to movie writers.
19:34This movie can truly win an Oscar.
19:36It was great.
19:37Had me on the edge of the seat.
19:38Evan loved it.
19:39I loved it.
19:40Guy's a ping pong player.
19:41I'll just leave that there.
19:42But a great movie is like a great dinner.
19:45You have the dessert to fit you.
19:47The ending, you have to finish the ending.
19:50The movie was so great.
19:52Five storylines.
19:53And then they leave it up to you to interpret what happened.
19:56And my wife's in the car like, Oh, Willard did this.
19:59We don't know what Willard did.
20:01I want to see it.
20:02And there was enough ingredients to have thought to think it out.
20:06And I want to, don't leave me thinking, well, it could have happened like this.
20:09And I'm mad.
20:10And the more movies I watched, Oppenheimer was the greatest film I ever watched.
20:14That was an ending.
20:16Don't leave me hanging at the altar with movies.
20:19Finish.
20:20Have a great ending.
20:21And this was a great movie with a sucky ending.
20:24And it still was a great movie.
20:25So endings of movies need to be better.
20:29Something tells me I'm going to love the movie.
20:30I mean, what's bugging me now is that you told me about this movie last week.
20:34And I really wanted to see it.
20:36And now, now I feel like I'm going to be disappointed.
20:39It's still as if I said the movie's no good.
20:41Because if you tell me the movie's no good, I'm going to see it.
20:43Oh, that's fine.
20:44So in other words, at the end of the movie, you don't know what happens.
20:48And you're left to wonder.
20:50You leave a look for the imagination.
20:52I don't like that.
20:53And there was so much for it.
20:55What happened?
20:56Back in Shakespearean theater.
21:00You know, Shakespeare, if you'll notice, many of his violent scenes occurred offstage.
21:11But that was done purposefully because he wanted the theater go to imagine how it happened,
21:19which was usually fairly descriptive in print, in the word.
21:25But he did that on purpose.
21:27But that violence, what about love?
21:29What about, did they, what happened with.
21:32Did you see Good Will Hunting?
21:33Oh my gosh.
21:34He went to go see about a girl.
21:36What happened?
21:37Well.
21:38She might have said, get out of here.
21:40Right.
21:41Or it could have been Mike Green on the call.
21:44You're not cooking the books, but I got.
21:46But I liked it.
21:47But see, I liked it.
21:48He's going to see about a girl.
21:50I don't know what the hell.
21:51What.
21:51But he might have crashed on his way.
21:54But it was.
21:55Got a flat tire.
21:56Yeah, sure.
21:57I assumed everything went way off.
22:00Somebody's saying, you know, give some reason to make a sequel.
22:04Did you ever watch The Sopranos?
22:06Come on, DMs.
22:08Four or five times.
22:09You get to the end.
22:10That was bad.
22:11And Tony with the family.
22:12All of a sudden, the door opens.
22:14That was bad.
22:15And it's over.
22:15So, like, what happened?
22:17Did he get got?
22:20But that's why it was, to me, horrible.
22:22Like, that was a letdown.
22:23Interesting.
22:24Great series always seemed to have a disappointing ending.
22:27Cheers had a good one.
22:29Because they're so used to stringing things together, chain link fence, season to season.
22:33When they have to be done done, that can suck.
22:36But I get the point I'm bringing up.
22:39I think more of them are like that than you realize.
22:42And that's why I don't want them.
22:44You want closure.
22:45I get that.
22:46Yeah, I would talk to you.
22:46Man, I want closure.
22:48It's like watching a baseball game and then, you know, bottom of the ninth.
22:52And the TV shuts off and you're like, wait, what happened?
22:55We're down one.
22:55Guru wants to put a ghost brother over at second base and finish this thing.
23:00Real quick, it's mainly relationships.
23:02Let me see Willard go to Dibb's house.
23:04What happened in that convo?
23:06Yeah.
23:08Well, I can't help but take advantage of the word closure and know that one of the things I love
23:13about this time is I always get to have closure right here on 95.7 The Game.
