00:23El-Hishri was transferred to the Netherlands after being arrested in Germany on a sealed ICC warrant.
00:30Prosecutors say he was a senior commander at Matiga prison between 2015 and 2020, ordering or overseeing the abuse of detainees.
00:40He faces 12 charges in total and was not required to enter pleas.
00:44Judges will decide on May 19 whether the evidence is strong enough to send him to trial,
00:48the first ICC trial involving a Libyan suspect since the court began investigating the country in 2011.
