00:05Taking to social media on Tuesday, the Pitch Perfect actress shared that she was extremely
00:10sick for over three weeks and still has lingering symptoms despite now testing negative for COVID.
00:16Alongside a photo of her wearing a mask, she wrote,
00:18I was incredibly safe. I wore a mask. I used hand sanitizer. One time when the world was
00:23starting to open up, I decided to forego wearing my mask. One time and I ended up getting it.
00:29She went on to explain that though people believe that having COVID-19 is like having the flu,
00:34she begs to differ. The panic of contracting a virus that is basically untreatable and is so new that
00:39no one knows the long-term irreparable damage it does to your immune system is unbelievably stressful.
00:44Completely losing my sense of smell and taste without knowing when or even if they will return
00:49is extremely disorienting. The 37-year-old actress further revealed that currently she's only smelling
00:54about 30% of how she used to and other persistent symptoms she's continuing to face
00:59a month after being diagnosed include dizziness, extreme fatigue, upset stomach,
01:04impacted sinuses, nausea, vomiting, and fever. She emphasized,
01:08I'm lucky because I didn't die, but people are. Please wear your mask. It can happen anytime,
01:13and it can happen to anyone. Camp joined stars Idris Elba, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson,
01:19Bachelor star Colton Underwood, and more who have announced that they also tested positive for
01:23COVID-19. For more on this story, head to THR.com. For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Neha Joy.
