Hosts Craig Melvin and Al Roker took Monday morning off out of an abundance of caution after learning that an employee on the third hour of the NBC morning show had tested positive for the disease.

00:17Savannah Guthrie addressed viewers at the top of the show, speaking out about the news, saying,
00:21Last night we learned that a colleague of ours on the third hour of Today has tested positive for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus.
00:27The anger assured fans that both Melvin and Roker are doing fine as of now, but taking this time off out of an abundance of caution.
00:35Following Guthrie's announcement, Roker gave viewers an update on Twitter, explaining he's feeling fine.
00:40Don't worry about us. Thinking about our colleagues and all those who are really suffering.
00:45And God bless the health care providers and first responders helping.
00:48Melvin added,
00:49Feeling great this a.m. Thinking about our friend and colleague. Thinking about everyone grappling with this right now.
00:55Following the news, NBC News President Noah Oppenheim offered his own statement posted on Today's website, writing,
01:01Oppenheim added that the company is taking all necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of the Today Show team,
01:16which will include identifying employees who were in close proximity to the affected staffer and asking them to self-isolate.
01:23In addition, all members of the Third Hour Today editorial team were asked to work from home.
