00:00Next, I've got my trusty air...
00:04What's up, GQ?
00:05I'm Camila Cabello, and these are my essentials.
00:11You have no idea who I'm looking at right now.
00:17So, my first item will be, well, it's kind of two items,
00:21but I think of it as one.
00:23So, I always have a book that I'm reading.
00:26Right now, I'm reading Braiding Sweet Grass,
00:28and I'm right here, and it's a book about
00:30indigenous wisdom, scientific knowledge,
00:32and the teachings of plants by Robin Wall Timmer.
00:36And it's already, like, I think,
00:38probably my favorite book I've ever read.
00:39It makes me feel really grounded,
00:41and I also always have a book that I haven't started,
00:45because if I'm on the plane, or if I'm somewhere,
00:48usually I'll have another book if I'm closer to the end,
00:50but if I finish, I wanna have another book
00:53already ready for me, wherever I am.
00:55I've tried Kindles, and I've tried reading on my iPad as well.
00:59I guess if it was a conscious, like, sustainability,
01:02like, environmental thing, I would move to a Kindle or an iPad,
01:06but I'm kind of old-school in that I love the feeling of a book.
01:09No technology, just me and, like, the words that somebody wrote.
01:14This is kind of like my singing goodies.
01:19I've got this manuka honey, which is so delicious.
01:24It's actually like dessert.
01:25I'm gonna have it right now.
01:26Mmm.
01:28It's so good.
01:30Just honey.
01:31Throw coat.
01:33Singer's Necessities.
01:35Grether's Pastilles, also Singer Necessities.
01:39And this is a brand new box of Entertain Your Secret Spray.
01:44And this I will use if I, like, the other day I did James Corden Crosswalk,
01:50the musical, and I just had absolutely no voice.
01:53And that is, like, the most stressful situation ever for a singer,
01:57when you have to sing and you're like, it's not coming out.
01:59And this is kind of like a little miracle.
02:01I don't use it all the time, but dry throat and horse voice,
02:04and it just will kind of throat, what, coat, coat coat.
02:08So that's my little singer's pouch,
02:12which I don't have with me all the time,
02:13because I don't sing every day.
02:15And thank God, because I lose my voice a lot.
02:21I really like this water because it's waterific.
02:26This is, like, a super sustainable company,
02:28and it's not plastic.
02:31I'm slowly kind of looking at my life and being like,
02:33how can I make choices that are more environmentally conscious
02:37and sustainable, especially with the climate crisis
02:39and things that we're experiencing nowadays.
02:41So if I can have, like, two of these in a day,
02:45then that's really good.
02:46I would just never drink water.
02:48I don't know how I, like, survived, honestly.
02:52I call this little lady, actually, I don't know if she's a lady.
02:56I think she's non-binary, gender-neutral.
02:58Sometimes I call her Miss Patty.
03:00Sometimes I call her Patty.
03:02People think it's funny, the relationship I have with my iPad.
03:05I got it during the pandemic
03:07because I had this obsession with reading articles.
03:10And I love reading The New York Times and The New Yorker.
03:13And I don't have any social media on my iPad.
03:15It's purely recreational.
03:17Sketching stuff, even though I'm not good at it,
03:19or YouTube, I use it for studio sessions a lot.
03:22And I collect stickers and I put it on Patty.
03:25And whenever I lose Patty, my friends make fun of me,
03:27because I'll always be like, Patty, where are you?
03:30So I have a very close relationship with my iPad.
03:33It's brought me a lot of joy and a lot of knowledge.
03:38Next, I've got my trusty Air...
03:43I don't lose sunglasses, but I lose freaking AirPods.
03:46This is a really bad habit of mine.
03:47I think it's because, especially on planes,
03:49like, I will take them off and then I'll fall asleep.
03:52And then they'll fall through the cracks of the seats.
03:54And then I can't find them.
03:55And Sean always gets mad at me
03:57because I always steal his AirPods.
03:59And I'll rename them, like, Camila's AirPods.
04:02Then I'll be like, these aren't your AirPods.
04:04They say Camila's AirPods.
04:06And he's like, that's because you renamed them.
04:08And I'm like, touche.
04:09So this one is, it's my AirPods, but I have lost one.
04:13What am I listening to right now?
04:15I'm very late to things.
04:16So sometimes something will be popping
04:18and I will discover how good it is, like, two years later.
04:22And I just listened to Doja Cat's Her album,
04:25which I'm a huge fan of.
04:26And I listen to a lot of Latin music,
04:29a lot of Se Tangana,
04:32a lot of Bad Bunny right now,
04:34a lot of reggaeton.
04:35Sometimes I go in just, like, these moments
04:37of just, like, being in a cave
04:39when it comes to pop culture
04:40and I don't know what's going on.
04:42And then I'll emerge and I'll be like,
04:43guys, Doja Cat is amazing.
04:46And they're like, yeah, we know.
04:50I also want to show you these
04:51because they're dirty
04:52and clearly I walk around barefoot a lot
04:55because they're kind of, like, you can see, like,
04:58my feet, my feet dirt.
04:59Especially when I'm working,
05:01try to bring some flip-flops with me
05:02because I am a chancletera,
05:04which is kind of very Latin for, like, a flip-flopper,
05:07which means that I'm from Miami
05:10and I just am in flip-flops there, like, 100% of the time.
05:13Gotta have some flip-flops,
05:14especially if you're, like, going to a party or a dinner
05:18and you're like, okay, now I'm ready to take these heels off.
05:21It's just, there's no shame in just whipping one of these out.
05:27My next item, I've got some sunglasses.
05:29I like to have a pair of sunglasses with me.
05:33Especially here in LA, like in Miami, I maybe wouldn't,
05:36but here there's, like, paparazzi and, like, stuff.
05:39And also sometimes it's just too damn bright out there.
05:41I always bring some sunglasses
05:43to match whatever outfit I'm wearing.
05:44This doesn't really match, but it is what it is.
05:47This is Preve Reveux, which I think Haley Steinfeld
05:51worked with this brand of sunglasses
05:53and I think they sent these to me.
05:57And I like that they're just, like, full coverage.
06:01If I'm hungry, like, I don't wanna just, like,
06:03reach for, like, some chips.
06:05I'd rather reach for something healthy, like a trail mix.
06:07This one is, like, one of my favorites.
06:09It's from Air One and it's got, like, cashews,
06:11it's got goji berries, it's got dark chocolate,
06:14and it's got walnuts, so it's very strong.
06:1610 out of 10.
06:18And also, this hue dark chocolate, it's just so good.
06:22Dark chocolate also has a bit of caffeine.
06:24Doing promo or whatever, and I'm like,
06:26I don't wanna have coffee, but I need some caffeine.
06:28I'll just be like, give me the chocolate now.
06:33Lip gloss.
06:35Oh my god, it smells so good.
06:37And I usually have, like, a lip gloss or lipstick or whatever
06:41matches with whatever I'm wearing that day, so.
06:43Today, it's this.
06:48I always have a charger with me because I can't tell you
06:50how many times I've been somewhere,
06:52and my phone dies and I have to go into a store
06:55and be like, do you guys have a charger?
06:56Can I please charge my phone?
06:58This was before I could drive, too.
06:59Like, I needed an Uber, so I'd be like,
07:01I'm literally stranded without my phone.
07:02Like, this is not good.
07:03Mophia portable chargers, see that?
07:05I lose all the time.
07:07I don't know, it's just easier for me to just bring a cord
07:10and, like, a little, uh, it's a box.
07:14Charging cube.
07:15Charging cube.
07:15Wow, see?
07:16Charging cube.
07:17I didn't know.
07:18That was what it was called.
07:19So I bring that and I'll just plug it wherever I am.
07:24Guys, thank you so much for checking out my essentials.
07:28I'll see you next time.
