00:08Memphis, not breathing. His road manager tried to revive him. He failed. A hospital
00:14tried to revive him. It failed. His doctor pronounced him dead at 3 o'clock
00:19this afternoon. Elvis Presley was considered the king of rock and roll. His
00:27meteoric rise to fame in the mid-50s made him one of the world's first
00:31international superstars. He sold an estimated 1 billion records. But at 3 p.m.
00:41on August 16, 1977, Elvis Presley was pronounced dead, having been found lying
00:48on the bathroom floor of his Memphis home, Graceland. He was just 42.
00:54The sudden and unexplained death of one of the most famous men on the
