George Lopez, who is the keynote speaker at THR's Social Impact Summit, chats with us on the red carpet and talks about putting pressure on big companies who are staying silent on the immigration raids happening in the country right now. Plus, he talks about how people are now afraid to do the things that would be considered normal to do.
00:00So we're here at THR's social impact summit, here's someone who has never been afraid to scoop their voice.
00:06You just people know the Dodgers before, saying silent on the heavy race streets.
00:11I would like to know how to be contributed, what pressure would one of these organizations like to speak up and do what's just?
00:19Well, I mean, no, I don't think we're going to do it as a group. I think that if you're going to do it as well, you know, there's so much information and, you know, we don't really know what some of these words, you know.
00:30So we're going to present one way and we're going to do it as well.
00:33So I've said that economically, financially, we support the things that you're going to do.
00:40We don't bother things that you're going to do.
00:44What are the conversations in your circle right now with your family about, like, things that's going on in the future?
00:50Yeah, I think that there's people that are, I mean, they're confused and mostly they're afraid.
00:57So they're not afraid of their work, they're afraid to get together.
01:02They're afraid that, you know, the graduations are big enough to get together.
01:06That would just be a normal thing, but they're afraid that the fact that, you know,
01:12they're so friendly to the way that they're aggressive and attacking people that, for the most part, are decent, you know, aren't working.
01:20People really don't want any attention, they just want to be working with their lives.
01:26If everybody's trying to target on their back right now, how do we support and lift up a community that's always been so strong in this land?
01:33Well, of course, you know, the people who are out of time, if they wanted to go on and lift things up,
01:39and increase to the way they might go.
01:41I'm sure that there's a lot of good news.
01:43If you're on the list, there's openings, and asking people to open it,
01:46and probably just watch them all night.
