Dwight Ramos glad to return to Ateneo

While his stint with the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles was short, Dwight Ramos says he's glad to make his return to the Katipunan campus now wearing the Gilas Pilipinas jersey. Ramos and the nationals blasted Guam, 95-71, at the Blue Eagle Gym on Dec. 1, 2025 to sweep the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers first window, 2-0. The 6-foot-4 Ramos logged 19 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in the win. Ramos first played collegiate basketball in the United States with Cal State Fullerton from 2016 to 2018 and Cal Poly Pomona from 2018 to 2019 before moving here to the Philippines. After his redshirt year in 2019, Ramos was supposed to make his Ateneo debut in the UAAP Season 83 men's basketball in 2020 but it was cancelled due to the Covid 19-pandemic, eventually foregoing his eligibility and deciding to go professional.

00:00Does it bring back memories? Yeah, it brings back the memories, but I used to train in Moro.
00:08Just being back at Ateneo, I can remember what my daily life was before.
00:142-0 now, DLS, this year I talked about. 2-0, the next one's going to be tough, New Zealand and
00:21Australia. Obviously, we need to keep getting better, but I think from the Asia Cup to now,
00:28I think we've already approved, so we've just got to keep building on the second days.
00:43Yeah, the two wins, you know, it puts us in a good position to make it to the second round,
00:50and you know, we just got to try and win as many games so we can qualify to the World Cup.
00:54So, even in Australia, we got to try and get some of those games.
01:01Here you're returning to Ateneo, you also joined Chris Newsom and Coach LES, fellow Ateneos who
01:07returned to the Blue Eagles gym. So, how proud are you of representing Ateneo here in the
01:12International Basketball stage with great pride and pleasure?
01:15You know, I was at Ateneo for a short time, so I don't know if Ateneo really claims to me because
01:24I didn't play, but the love is mutual. I have still memories here, and it feels good to be back.
