00:00All this talk about Disney Plus and CBS Max and on a f***ing Extreme Prime, where's it going to end?
00:06Straight to f***ing hell, that's where I'm going to work.
00:09Remember when cable was a luxury?
00:11Now we have endless streaming services with rising fees in addition to cable costs.
00:16Well, Wednesday night's episode of South Park gave a voice to our growing cable conundrum.
00:21Titled Basic Cable, the episode revolved around fan-favorite character Scott Malkinson.
00:26Spoiler alert, Scott has a crush on the new girl in town who loves streaming service Disney Plus.
00:31Problem is, Scott's dad won't buy the service.
00:34People got a thousand shows at their fingertips, 24-7, so now Hollywood has to make shows within their shows to make more shows!
00:41The end of the episode has the best kicker, which is a commercial to call creator Trey Parker in order to buy the streaming rights to the Scott Malkinson show.
00:50An actual working Fair Play Colorado number is flashed on screen.
00:53Sure enough, when called, there is a recording of Parker giving multiple options to faux shows that have been created within this season.
01:00He is selling each for hundreds of millions of dollars, a joke on the fact that HBO Max just acquired the rights to stream South Park from Hulu in a deal worth a reported $500 million.
