Former New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola chats with THR alongside dance partner Witney Carson at the 'Dancing With the Stars' press line and shares how he thinks his athletic skills will carry over in the ballroom. Plus, Witney talks returning to DWTS again and with an NFL celebrity this time around.

00:00She's been a great dancer on the show for a long time.

00:03Everybody loves her, and I'm excited to work with her.

00:06Sure. Whitney, this is your first season back.

00:08After a few seasons away, what made you want to come back for this season in particular?

00:12I did a little cameo last season after I had my son,

00:15and it just gave me kind of the fire to come back again.

00:19And I'm hungrier than ever to do the best that I possibly can,

00:23and now I have Danny as a partner.

00:25I haven't had an NFL player for a long time, so I'm really excited about that.

00:29Listen, I hear the athletes tend to do pretty well on this show.

00:33How do you think your skills are going to carry over?

00:35I think my footwork's like I have an edge in that regard,

00:38but I need to really learn the posture, learn the technique,

00:42and for that I'll be listening to her.

00:44For sure.

00:45Is there a song or an artist that you're looking forward to,

00:48hopefully dancing to this season?

00:50Ooh, I mean.

00:52You love Shibuzi.

00:54Shibuzi's my guy.

00:55Yeah, Shibuzi's my guy.

00:57I think we're going to lead off with Shibuzi and let it rip.

01:01How would you describe your dancing skills on a scale from 1 to 10?

01:04Trash.

01:05Yeah, trash.

01:06Okay, Whitney, yeah, you tell us.

01:08You tell us the real thing.

01:09Well, he's only showed me the small little portion of what you can do.

01:13The jerk, which I give, like, I would say like a 4.

01:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:18Is she being humble?

01:19No, she's killing me.

01:20She's a coach, so she's getting me right.

01:22I'm just easing him into it.

01:24I'm trying not to make him quit yet, you know, like kind of get his contract in place first.

01:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:30No.

01:31Finally, if there was a theme night, like if you could be in charge of picking one of the big theme nights this season,

01:36what would you have the theme be?

01:38What would you say?

01:39I mean, what was your favorite theme?

01:41Um, I love Disney night, but I'm like a Disney girl.

01:45I love Disney.

01:46I also love when they do, like, Oscar night because it's a really, like, usually powerful ballads

01:52and something that everybody loves and it's all very different.

01:56So I think that I would love to see that theme night this season.

01:59Same.

01:59I mean, I'm a throwback, too.
